      visual kei on bandcamp would make me explode . . .

      I think a lot of it is just in order to keep the desire for physical sales afloat. a 1200 yen physical single > two digital download 200 yen songs

      Girls are paying to go to a show, which typically cost between 3500-4000yen, depending if you're paying at the door. If the distribution is a yoyaku, they basically are paying that 4000yen for that one song already, and the venue also gives distributions accordingly to people who say to see which band they came for, then they'll hand them a CD or something for that band.
