the worst shit is when a band says they're gonna be aiming for a more 'mature' sound on their next release and the end result is that you're stuck with an album consisting mainly of ballads instead
"mature" sound tends to be an euphemism for "boring ballads" surprisingly often. I guess by "mature" they mean music that doesn't make people move during concerts, causing the more mature members of the audience to risk fracture their legs or something.
