wow, now this my friends is a goddamn music-video...

jeesus you could print every single frame of that MV out as a wallpaper, brilliant sets, lightning, camera, choreography, costumes, makeup etcetcetc...

I think they should've perhaps toned a bit down on teh sexy, not because i find it too much or anything, but the inevitable "scandal" or discussion or whatevs will probably distract from just how good this is (let's hope i'm wrong).

EDIT: well, that would be self-censorship then though, which sucks even more.. so all thumbs up for ga in and please go on...

Well if you guys followed my words you would know that Last summer after Akujo no Hohoemi single, i said i made my peice with them, meaning it's fine if they disband. As the super slave I knew this was coming, the way they hop from one sound to another it's no wonder that they would come to a point where they might have trouble getting something fresh. And Lycaon would rather die then be a genric warshed up nothing new boring piece of nothing. Also ahhhhh dahhhhh they came back to metal, i knew then, its like when you are writing a paper you kinda write what you wrote in the introduction but in different words. the different words being the different guitar tunning and electronics and vocals.

Lycaon will stay in my heart forever for the strength and idea's they've gave me. Yuuki will always be my price for taking care of me. I love how they went out with a bang. 10 new songs off the bat, all flawless on one of the the best albums ever, Yuuki slaying kaya's look publicly, slaying metalcore, and just not letting any other band or artist touch them.

Lycaon 2008-2015. May the half incubus Prince rise, and reign over the land of music again!

Toki just announced it on his blog. The "last and best" album will be made solely by him, he hasn't contacted the other members as (he's an egomaniac) one has retired, he's lost contact with the others and he was responsible for 90% of their music anyway. (Paraphrased).

I'd recommend SouthLAnd and Six Feet Under. Both finished with five seasons.
SouthLAnd is my favorite crime-drama (it was superb, even if I'm not a big fan of the genre) and SFU is what I consider the best series ever.

Favorite things I've been watching lately are probably Cucumber/Banana and season 2 of Broad City.

Cucumber and Banana are both new British LGBT shows created by the man behind Queer as Folk (Russell T. Davies). Both air back-to-back and share storylines on a bunch of queer people. Banana is just an introductory show to characters featured on Cucumber, each having their story told within 20+ minutes. Cucumber is the main show (which I like a lot more), mostly following a 46-yo gay man failing at life and all the people that are involved in his life somehow. Both are pretty entertaining and easy to watch. There's also a third show called Tofu, but I haven't watched it yet since it's more of a documentary and doesn't add anything to the main shows.

Broad City I had been waiting for ages and this new season is just as good as the first one. There's not much to say about it, it's just really, really good and silly fun. Any show that takes an entire episode to deal with the repercussions of a guy asking a girl to do it with him with a strap-on has my heart.

I'm also addicted to Empire because that soap drama mess is amazing and Taraji P. Henson is killing it.

Off the top of my head, I could list:

    1) LUNA SEA - LOVE SONG
LUNA SEA has always had some spectacular b-sides (even after reforming they still kept it up, mostly with "Lost World"). The title-track here is not really the standout imo, although it was one of the first songs I heard from them so it holds lots of nostalgia for me. The real reason for mentioning this single is because it also includes this gem and possibly the best b-side ever released by a Japanese band:

    2) RENTRER EN SOI - 水夢見る蝶々
Everyone raves about Sphire-Croid and the Kein and Astre mini-albums, but they all seem to forget that RES released this single inbetween and it might as well be one of their best CDs. Third track "偽りの渦" is absolutely gorgeous and I could say that, considering their entire disco, it's easily top 3 material for me.

I'll go around my library later to see if anything else comes to mind.

saishuu reacted to Shmilly in #26: 35xxxv by ONE OK ROCK
I'm struggling to find much of the 'classic ONE OK ROCK feeling' on this album at all. It's alright I guess, but it's such a departure from where the guys have come from that I can't help but feel like they've missed the mark this time. The major factors I think made me feel this way are the Western influence, and the lack of Japanese lyrics, only appearing briefly in a couple of tracks. For me, a long time fan of OOR, it was the excellent use of English that helped my younger self get into their music. But they have always been an energetic, punk-inspired Japanese rock band. 35xxxv in comparison sounds like bland, mainstream Western rock with not a lot of soul.

There's a handful of good songs here, but for me these are sadly mainly the ones we've heard before. Mighty Long Fall is an excellent lesson in pacing that gets the blood pumping when the crescendo reaches a powerful chorus. Cry out retains more of that OOR sound than most of the other songs on this album, and it's pretty catchy to boot. Stuck in the middle was a good pick me up after the album began to lose my interest (and that collaboration song? Worst thing they ever did xD)

I really hope that the more I listen to 35xxxv, the more it will grow on me. But as it stands, this is perhaps the weakest album in OOR's now extensive discography, and because of that I am much more likely to go back and listen to the stuff I like than I am to spin this disappointment again too often.

The start of me organizing music actually began with the use of slsk, but I started using last.fm shortly after and that definitely ensured that my tags stayed intact. Though when I became a trader on utatane (Japanese p2p), that's when I got REALLY strict about organizing/tagging and basically became more anal than a power bottom.
