Sounds good so far for an anisong. Wonder if they'll finally release a single this time lol I hope the DVD gets uploaded somewhere one day. From what I've seen from random footage, they are so good live :'(

quit creeping on my last.fm (kara were/are gorgeous btw <3)
  5. lmao that's random It's nice that some of the Gift guys are still active and even playing their old songs in these sessions. They were really great.
  6. these guys kinda sound like midtempo RADWIMPS mixed with Uchuu Conbini. i'm intrigued:

I rarely try to interact with artists online, but I got a reply from NIKIIE a few years ago on Twitter. I left a tweet praising her and one of her albums and she actually replied in (pretty good) English saying thanks. She was really sweet too.

  9. inb4 John leaves this new band
  10. It's not like you can't have most of it already too... :x
  11. lol starting a new band in the exact same way as the last one, by copying DIR EN GREY. The "THIRTEEN" probably indicates the 13 years since VULGAR/CHILD PREY came out.
  12. Ohh, I like this! Both songs are rather nice, but 震えてる sounds slightly better than the other one. Will check it out once it appears online.

I was completely unfamiliar with these guys, but I decided to listen to this due to all the good reviews and I'm so impressed. Really great album overall; love the old MERRY vibes going on, especially on ZIZ and LEVIATHAN. Turns out I was 100% wrong thinking they were just your average heavy band.

lmao I'm just waiting for the day that Kra is the only thing PSC has left.

I was really emotionally invested in deadman back when they were around, but these days I have to be in a very specific mood to listen to them. It's like their music actually evolved since they broke up somehow, I can't explain it. "circus" was a clear favorite of mine back in early 00's (which is weird given how I'm more of a ballad/mellow music person), but now I have so many favorites that It's hard to pick them. I'll say, though, that "no alternative" is hands down one of the best VK albums ever. I can never get over how everything flows so beautifully, starting with "Moumoku..." and ending with "Arizuka", both easily being some of their best. Ugh, I liked them so much.
  16. I'm open to dating anyone really, but I'm fully aware that I'm involuntarily predisposed to feel attracted to white people more often due to the standards of beauty that I'm exposed to more.
  17. I'm listening to the EP for the first time right now and I'm honestly surprised by how good "subliminal" is. Tracks 1 and 3 are also pretty good. Violins + EDM elements are actually used well here and really make the songs stand out imo; "ear+f" has my favorite guitar riffs in the entire release, while "Secret Sensation" has killer bass lines - seriously, TK + Hidekazu (I'm not sure if he's still a support musician for this project, but these bass lines must be his) is an awesome combo. I agree with CAT5 about the other two songs; track 4 has a nice guitar solo and track 5 has a nice ending, but that's it. Both are pretty forgettable. As much as I like most of his solo work, there's one thing about it that's been bothering me though: looking back at his entire output, it just sounds like Ling with a few embellishments. That's the exact reason as to why I liked his second solo album the best - while it borders on mainstream at some points, it's still relatively different from his Ling style and that's what this solo venture should be about. I'm really not interested in having basically 2 average bands doing the same watered down thing. The Ron Swanson gif CAT posted says it all.

Even INORAN retweeted one of Shun's messages today. Seems like they were well appreciated across the board, which makes this even more bittersweet.

  20. As much as I like Gesu, I was naive enough to expect Enon's image to take a huge hit. But somehow I wasn't surprised that Gesu's album landed at no. 1 in Oricon shortly after all of this popped up on the news, heh. Pretty disgusting situation overall. The way Becky's image deteriorated was ridiculous.
  21. could you imagine what kind of vocal masterclass this band would be if Hisui from Madeth gray'll was also involved? Kyouka be using that whistle register better than Mariah. Somehow I like this song, it's good to see them going.
  22. all of this! pretty excited for the ARCHE live shows and the new single. really liking the new look too. has Toshiya been looking big like that for long now? his arms look huge.
  23. I don't mind the pop direction and the EDM elements at all - in fact, I actually like them, otherwise his stuff would just be Ling 2.0, but I feel like this song lacks something. The violins are a nice touch, but there's not much depth I guess. I still look forward to his solo output.
