    Official details on the album release: PROJECT DARKAGE

    Summary:

    Special limited edition is ¥10,800. It has the main album, two DVDs (one of them only having one music video, the rest having other stuff, so kind of unnecessary), and two A4 sized books.

    Second DVD has a 13th anniversary documentary, DEUX music video, OMINOUS lyric video, making of “DOGMA” (music video), and all the album trailers. One of the A4 books will be a photo book, the other will just have a bunch of text.

    Not-special limited edition just has one DVD with a DOGMA music video, for ¥4,320. Regular edition has nothing special and is ¥3,300.

    My thoughts:

    Since there will be a lyric video for OMINOUS, it looks like it won’t be some outro track. We haven’t had an album end with an actual song since DIM; looks like one of my wishes will be coming true. ;D

    Also, I don’t think the GazettE has ever made a title track for an album.

    I think the prices are pretty ridiculous. I think the only one that’ll be worth the money is the super expensive one, actually, so I’m saving up for that one.

    And what would a Seimeisen post in the news section be without artwork?

    WOW! I usually do that, at least when I pic I upload there has any red in it. Guess I'm the idiot today lol. I could re-up it. Maybe that's why it got down-voted.

    Got some stuff in the mail today...

    Everything arrived a day earlier than I was expecting. CDs themselves and booklets appear to be in very good condition (though one or two CD single booklets were bent (example)). Pretty much all jewel cases are banged up (hard to tell in the pic), and I need to flatten out a lot of the obi strips (not pictured).

    Lot of this isn't on Panda/Val, they didn't personally buy all these CDs when they were brand new, I assume. Although it did kind of bother me (just a tad) that a lot of the cases weren't replaced. Somebody told me that they'd replace CD cases or something, so I guess I was expecting that. I was also under the impression that Panda/Val were including freebies (like fliers) in all recent orders to say "sorry we took so long," and I'm pretty sure a few other people even got a free CD or two thrown in. None of that really matters, I just wanted the CDs I ordered. I can replace the cases on my own if I want to.

    I did find a surprise booklet to go with another CD that was sold to me as case-less, so that was a pleasant surprise (the version MERRY's 激声 CDs that came complete with the case and everything came with an extra booklet for the version I got that didn't have a case). Another pleasant little surprise is that the NoGoD V promo CD was sealed. Not that it matters much, since there's no artwork but still.

    ETA: If I seemed really angry when I first typed this up, that wasn't my intention and I apologise. I ramble a lot and quibble about little things that nobody should give many shits about. I am glad that these CDs made their way to me, and that is what really matters here.

    How likely are visual releases to be on iTunes?

    Depends on the label, and sometimes even the band. You can find a pretty good selection of recent VK releases. There are quite a lot of smaller bands that you just won't see on iTunes JP. Some things will be missing, sometimes a label might skip a release entirely, and other releases could take months to appear (e.g. Lycaon's "Camera obscura" was released on CD in February, just hit iTunes JP two weeks ago, four months after its release).

    Welcome to MH! I think this site was still Tainted World when you joined (if it was 5 years ago). :lol:

    I've mostly heard about Batsu, and have seen it from the outside (never registered). But from what I've seen, registration is permanently closed (lol big loss), and the place is dead as hell.

    I also added you on last.fm. THE NOVEMBERS, Plastic Tree, and MEJIBRAY are all awesome, and I just love DEZERT and AvelCain!

    Fucking hold on a second...

    This crowd-funding bullshit was for a LIVE-LIMITED RELEASE?!! Fucking Why?! They exceeded their funding goal by ~$50,000! The least they could do is push for an online shop release, maybe even a nationwide music shop release.

    I guess I shouldn't have gotten excited about this?

    Sorta hoping that one of the ¥8,000 (or ¥20,000) donors will leak the high-res audio rip they'll be getting...

    JPU staff have confirmed on Facebook that the re-issue of STACKED RUBBISH will just be the regular edition. The only extra will be an addition of romanised/translated lyrics. However, it should also be available digitally (for the first time? Probably only in Europe, though). So, I'm not really interested in these JPU re-issues, as I'm sure the same goes for the JPU release of NIL.

    Paid for a CD I got from a livestream on 5/5.

    On 5/14, my CD still wasn't packed, so I asked for an inventory check to buy more CDs. Inventory check was done on 5/21.

    I paid for the extra CDs on 5/21 IMMEDIATELY, at a time that I was financially uncomfortable to do so (I like to have a certain amount of money in my bank account). I was going to wait a few days to pay until I had more money, but decided not to because Panda wanted to bid on some auction.

    I did ask them to hold off on giving a shipping quote when I paid. I requested a shipping quote a few hours ago today.

    Okay, first time going through a BNT post and I’m glad that I did!

    @Peace Heavy mk II, SO happy a DEZERT song made the cut. The first two 包丁の正しい使い方 songs are incredible, though I think the second one is my favourite. But the first one was a better choice for people who still haven't heard the band. My only gripe with the compilation is that it didn't include 変 and 異常な階段. Oh, well...

    The Pentagon track was pretty good, too.

    @beni, I haven't formally listened to the Chanty album yet, but I think I would have chosen the first song, since the song alone is making me want to give this band a try. On another note, one thing about this band that really stood out to me was the fact that they didn't tack on some intro "S.E." track to the beginning of the album like almost every VK band does these days.

    , great choice on the Develop One's Faculties track. I really like this band's style, but a lot their other songs don't seem as engaging. Not much else to say since this is only their second single.

    Definitely trying out the LOTUS and VERY BERRY releases; possibly odol as well.

    @fitear1590, I might try the Mediena single 'cause I love the Valluna homage, though I'm really hoping there are better tracks. I think the original Valluna song is better that the Mediena song it inspired...

    @CAT5, role mini album is going on my Bandcamp wishlist. Downloading that dessin the world compilation right now! That 16REASONS song is great!

    @Zeus, Goddamn, I need to dive into Boris more. I have their album Noise, but I’ve only heard Angel (in a shuffle last summer). “Surrender” sounds really cool, though! Guess I’ll go download those three new albums, now.

    @Seimeisen was it hard to choose your favorite of Avelcain's - Omajinai I mean everything was good, like always, but I think I have to settle for Oyasuminasai since I'm always a sucker for the slow ballad type songs, but glad its up there.

    It was very, very difficult lol. I love all the songs on the mini album. I was really considering choosing おやすみなさい as well, it's a very beautiful song, and it is slower, but 午前二時 is more energetic and it seems quite different from other songs that eve has composed for this band.

    Ooooh, I like the sticker that came with your copy.

    Was there a bonus track on the limited edition? This song leaked on YouTube and it's not on my standard edition copy, so I can only speculate that it's at least on the limited edition.

    The bonus items are:

    Limited Edition: eye patch

    Regular Edition: eraser

    Those were just bonuses if you buy the CDs from a certain store (can't remember which one), they were no secret at all. :lol:

    As for the mystery bonuses that were censored...

    My copy didn't come with that extra track, so it might be a limited edition bonus track. :(
