Not to sound like a hipster but i usually associate with stuff becoming more popular also becoming more bland and boring (with rare exceptions) so I'm kind of happy with this being as niche and small as it is. Last thing I'd really wanna draw in is crowds that act like kpop or ariana grande fans lol

Hopefully Katsuya is around again to help out with the album. Idk how much impact he has but usually everything he helps out with on the mixing and mastering side of things turns out golden

This thread is dedicated to Japanese releases in 2020 that the MH Community will listen to and would like to keep track of throughout the entire year. It’s a nice way of referring back to a list, should you forget if you’ve listened to a certain release yet or not. I know I forget sometimes haha. These ratings can also help those who may want to see which releases are favoring well or not, based on each individual user who you may have similar tastes with.
 
Feel free to set up your own rating system (Stars, ?/5, ?/10, Best to Worst, Oooh to Eww, etc.), but try and use spoiler tags to save room in your post, and save room on the page for the other members’ rating lists.
 
Keep this list in mind in the event that we, the MH staff, host a JRock Awards at the end of the year  .
 
Let those who participate know that we need to come back to this topic a few more times than we did last year (I did pretty bad lol).
It could be our New Year's resolution or something 😂.

My spiciest prediction is every Starwave band/artist survives 2020.
Kizu will finally release a full length album.
AINS will sign 2 more bands.
Yuuki (ex. UnsraW) will finally release new music in some shape form (even if its just demos/teasers).
Z from R-shitei will join Nocturnal Bloodlust, Mamo will either start up a new band w/ all new members or a solo project.
Adding onto my prediction about Z, Nocturnal Bloodlust will have a new release this year and itll bang.
DIMLIM will survive the year but stick with 3 members officially (cant speak for if they finally decide to add support members for lives).
RAKUGAKI, gulu gulu, and NICOLAS are gonna be the most popular MH bands for 2020.
and lastly (for now if i ever remember to add more predictions) SCAPEGOAT is going to go back to their "Haru has to kill his girlfriend in every single music video" phase and itll be great. (dont get me wrong i loved scapegoat's 2018 releases i just miss the edgy days.

Tbf piracy is a digital thing and you can buy their stuff digitally. Not being able to buy a copy physically sucks but it shouldn't be a reason you resort to pirating (doesnt apply to their live limited stuff)

Until we hear samples i dont think its fair to make any assumptions just on the song titles. If the last release (live limited single) was an indicater of what they are trying to do im all in. Based on this teaser my guess is we are in for some weird shit. Im so here for that, they didn't get popular doing the same things every other metal band did. They tried weird shit from the beginning and have consistently delivered.
