Onegai Kanaete Versailles. Although I don't know how it is, never found the courage to watch it. It screams to my face how it would NOT be my jam and how will it kill me of too much cringe.

monkeybanana4 reacted to gret in Hi!
Decided to join after lurking for a while and reading through the threads. Here for the music...and the drama, ngl 😎
Knew of VK previously but only checked it out recently, it has definitely changed somewhat from what I remembered. didn't expect chekis to be a thing, for one.
Looking for recommendations too since I have only gotten a few songs from almost every band I came across. The only exception is codomo dragon which is my favorite right now. I prefer clean singing, though some growls/screaming is ok too. I prefer Dimlim's latest single over most of Chedora, for example.
I really like: Ningen isu, most of kizu, gulu gulu's single, and like 3 arlequin songs lol.
Songs like Henry by ZZooo are cool with me too!
Non-japanese bands are fine too - looking to expand my repertoire!
I...also listen to some 8psb...

'tis really good. Nice and chill.
Also, Bakemono. make some tasty PVs, this one along with Deviloof's latest two.

monkeybanana4 reacted to Komorebi in The sparsity of albums and the transition to more singular content.
I hope they don't. I hate music streaming and I love the concept of buying physical releases, with all the bonuses included, and attending instores. I don't want to have to pay three or four times what I'm paying for my cellphone plan just because listening to music now is sucking up my data too.
Besides all that was mentioned, recording and studio time expensive and I guess smaller bands can afford more easily to start off with singles and EPs and grow from there. Newbie bands like Nazare can afford to release full albums because they record them in their drummer's bedroom.

monkeybanana4 reacted to nomemorial in Stuff to see in Shinjuku?
Shinjuku National Gardens are quite lovely and peaceful, even with tons of other people around. For the polar opposite, I can't recommend Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho (Piss Alley/Memory Lane) enough. The former for drinks, the latter for food. Small, cramped, crowded, and a ton of fun to just hop in and out of different places. They were some of the highlights of my trip, even with tons of tourists wandering about (myself included).
Outside of that, the must-visit VK shops are all within a block of each other in Nishishinjuku. Like an Edison, Pure Sound, Closet Child, and Jishuban Club/Club Indies.
Ton of good eats in the area, too, but really everything I had in Japan was delicious so you really can't go wrong. (I mean this, not even in like a Japan fanboy kind of way, it was all really that good.)

Just got my copy of Gracia, so went ahead and ripped the PVs to YouTube. Thought this thread would appreciate. Enjoy!!
Quality could be better, but DVD doesn't give me much to work with when ripping. Either way, hope you enjoy!!

I see. I din't know that. I got into Kagrra a couple of years later, but at that time (06-ish) it was very highly regarded and often highly recommended to new fans or people who just very curious alongside San. Stunning album btw, but that goes for the bands' entire discography. Even their last two albums.

monkeybanana4 reacted to Paraph in Album that you love but fans hate?
no idea about now, but when it was released it was very ill-received (at least in online western communities) i remember people saying it was boring. it feels like a refreshing gem when listening today and blows a lot of the current scene out of the water.
