Nowhere Girl got a reaction from LEY in Dir en grey
Actually, Arche is not as bad. It's loud but has a much cleaner sound. TIW feels like they threw overdrive over everything on top of whacking it all up to '11'.

Production =/= mixing =/= mastering.
Production is song creation, choosing instruments, recording them, crafting them to get the right atmosphere for the project.
Mixing is the balance of the stems recorded for each song.
Mastering is making sure all songs across an album are balanced the same, and getting the final 'sound' of the album with effects like EQ and compression.
For example, The Insulated World is a pretty well-produced album (a little laziness in writing aside). The mix is okay, but it's absolutely destroyed by an atrocious master that makes everything sound far too compressed, creating a fatiguing listen.

Nowhere Girl got a reaction from LEY in DIR EN GREY new single 落ちた事のある空 release summer 2020
Never liked CEH from even the first listen. It's the only song I still can't get into. Maybe I'm being unfair. It's... okay. I just feel that it's another loud, bleak, boring song with not much really going for it, and it bogs down the already difficult first half of the album.
No way! Downfall is great!

How dare you put those songs in the same sentence. =P
Edit: Fuck, I just realised the live version of Followers on the Ochita single is the same performance from that London gig!

Nowhere Girl got a reaction from NICKT in DIR EN GREY new single 落ちた事のある空 release summer 2020
I'm holding off listening until they release this on CD.
If it doesn't come out before the next album, I doubt it'll ever be released physically for the masses. At that point, I'll cave.
I refuse to pay for mp3s.

Nowhere Girl got a reaction from LEY in New band "DIR EN GREY Ambient Collection" has formed, proceeds to release 37-part ambient version of Ranunculus
Doesn't seem like it's worth the time to make a Spotify account for this. Never used a streaming service before. Not going to start now.
The whole situation with DEG, the fucking awful mastering of their last album, the handling of the latest single, and now this, rubs me completely the wrong way.

We can hope. I'd rather buy a physical version of the release than stream online or buy digitally.

I know they probably wont but would be nice if they made this physical version more widely available. Wouldn't mind a copy seeing as I was at the Islington Assembly Hall show! + Need them live clips of The World of Mercy as well.

I'm not joking btw, Kaoru posted on twitter (tl by kyotaku):

'Ranunculus (Ambient Ver) is a 20 min track that got cut into 37 short 30~35 second tracks.
It's a way of gaining more profit by having it out as an album.
We're searching for new paths in this world that plunged into the unknown times.

Nowhere Girl got a reaction from Kabukichoatmidnight in sukekiyo
Other thing to bear in mind is the lack of energy. In live shows, there's a symbiosis between the band (which gives) and the crowd (which gives back). Without the crowd providing energy, a recording can become sterile. So even if it's technically 'perfect', it can be insincere or even boring.
