I do agree with you, however, how would a cease and desist work in this scenario? Wouldn't someone automatically relinquish the rights to the music if they leave the band and gets replaced?

Yeah I don’t know. That’s why I don’t think rights are the issue here. They WERE playing pre-Chedoara stuff after Issei left, so I think it’s just a choice they’ve made as they move away from that material stylistically.

  2. If Issei pulled a cease and desist on his compositions being played live then he’s a bigger dick than I thought. It’s not likely though. They probably just don’t want to play that shit anymore.

Funny as well as that post on instagram is basically just full of people basically saying "we love the band but when we live overseas and can't buy these CD's what more do you expect us to do? We want to hear and enjoy your music, not miss out because we can't attend a live show." lol. A common thing said on here, and I completely agree. haha.

To be fair, Chedoara and Rijin are on iTunes and streaming services.

  4. To open up this can of worms again, I understand Retsu’s point about illegal uploads, but using a track from Kidoairaku as an example softens it. Unless they’re still sitting on a ton of unsold copies or it’s suddenly become commercially available, complaining about it now doesn’t make much sense.

Even with Hiroshi around theyd opt for programmed drums?

Unless one of the guys has their own studio space, yeah. It’s way more time and cost effective to do everything from a laptop in your bedroom than it is to rent out a space to record. It’s pretty common now.

  6. No bassist is ridiculous. Do they have bass via playback now or is there just straight up no bass at all?

Bottom line is exactly what Duwang said: they need to get their shit together.

  7. The problem is that it seems like Dimlim has no fucking idea what they’re doing and they most likely don’t have the funds to hire someone to do it for them.

I don’t know. Slapping your music on iTunes and streaming services with little fanfare and tweeting out that you want to tour overseas probably isn’t quite enough.

    I fear the worst really.

I'll be seeing DIMLIM on November 8th. I plan to offer shopping service.

I'm putting this here in advance so everyone knows there are ways of supporting them and getting their merch from overseas.

I'll take orders until November 7th.

If the Vanitas shirt is still available, I’d like one of those. If not the Aizou ni tsuki is cool. Maybe the shigarami towel too.

I imagine an American large is like an XL over there?

  9. I can see the album still coming out, but being a heavily computerized effort. Like it’ll probably just be Sho and Retsu laying down vocals and guitars to save money.

Then again its due out in December and it’s nearly October with no real updates about it soooo...

  10. This is what happens when you actually work together in a studio and don’t layer shit on just to worry about how you’re actually going to play it later

not coincidentally this is why the Marrow songs are better live as well
