You can't make something popular again if it wasn't popular in the first place.  Everyone looks back at 2007-2010 as the heyday of the scene, but I think we know more about the scene now than we did back then. A lot of it was people trend riding Dir en grey, the GazettE, and a whole host of other popular bands until they jumped ship for K-Pop. Even when I go to shows abroad, people in line hardly know as much about the band or the scene as people here on MH do. We are in our own bubble and we have to learn to look beyond that bubble to see the scene as a whole.
 
It's a sad fact that the scene is small and will stay small, but I rather like it that way. Visual kei is the definition of anti-mainstream. Think of how many bands are subjected to the stigma of "going major" and losing their identity. Now, imagine that happening to the entire scene at once! That's basically what it would be like to "get popular" again. Not a good look. I don't know what it is that makes visual kei tick, but I'm fine with leaving things the way they are.

I'm aware this reads like a gigantic gatekeeping post but that is not my intention. Let people find visual kei naturally is what I say! The site continues to find and support both new members and old, so the hooks to get drawn into the scene are still out there.

Until we hear samples i dont think its fair to make any assumptions just on the song titles. If the last release (live limited single) was an indicater of what they are trying to do im all in. Based on this teaser my guess is we are in for some weird shit. Im so here for that, they didn't get popular doing the same things every other metal band did. They tried weird shit from the beginning and have consistently delivered.  

I can hardly find a single job that wouldn't make me blow my brains out and it's making me want to blow my brains out.

Even though Retsu is very convinced they are going to deliver their masterpiece ever. At least that's how his replies sounded to me.
 
I'm still in that "I so hope for an album I'll love but I expect the worst to not be disappointed". In the end I don't mind. If I won't like the album but they really want to change into whatever direction it may be they shall do. I just hope for them that there are enough people to like it. Even if it may be all new fans. I'd stick to what I love up to now and that's it.

I'd do the same, if Mother ever tried to contact me but she didn't try yet.
And then keep going that way, never giving in on anything to make sure no boundaries get violated.

My mother outdid herself. I changed my
phone number and she is now sending me emails with the classical abusive “you are nothing without me and no one else loves you” discourse. 
 
How do you deal with toxic exes? Because this is basic “I’ll belittle you until you take me back” shit. 

my dog passed away a week ago and ive been struggling every day since then. today we received his ashes in a box/urn sort of thing and also a paw print of his in some sort of material. i broke down today seeing the urn and his paw print. i still cant believe hes actually gone 

Akira from F.A.B (Free Aqua Butterfly), who was one of the guitarists of Pengking, tweeted that he was told by police it was only a collapse from a heart attack at the time. Took about half-a-month from the efforts of Hikaru (also Gt.) and a handful of other people to finally get media attention on the incident.  Shit sucks, man : ( .
 
 

I really don't like one ok rock, and that title doesn't hype me one bit. I'll wait and see

Hello and welcome.
Totally am with you on the Gazette. Have been into the early Mejibray stuff but somehow lost it a bit to the end. Didn't even try 8P-SB. From the looks and from what I read it sounds like I just didn't even wanna try. Sad but true.

I was a member of this place several years ago, but I lost all my account info and stuff. I'm mostly just into Takeru (ex-SuG) and Jui (Gotcharocka). Still, I thought I'd come back and do some exploring. I'm also autistic, so I tend to be pretty shy and asocial around new people. Just give me a chance, and I'll open up! Jui and Takeru are also two of my heroes btw.

Welp, I've gone from having a couple of neighbours who just yelled at each other right outside my room at about 1pm every week from having a couple of neighbours who make out so loudly I can hear them even when my attention is diverted elsewhere. Ahh, the joys of living in a flat.

I'm trying to get into 8P-SB, but it's really hard lmao XD i'm still mourning over MEJIBRAY's disbandment 
I've been a lurker of monochrome heaven for a while, and finally decided to join and expand my horizons as far as music goes! : D

My work experience at the moment involves lifting heavy stacks of notes and I think I made myself ill by physically overexerting myself 🙃 next time I'll listen when they tell me to pace myself instead of trying to prove myself all the damn time.

They lost two members earlier so that kinda makes sense. Maybe they need some time to find someone new.
