DIR EN GREY new single "DIFFERENT SENSE" + new preview

Recommended Posts

They already announced it was gonna have anime clips, news cuts and sea creatures in it so idk why you people keep getting surprised about things that are already announced lol

of course that doesn't mean it fits, but we'll hopefully get a new uncensored MV dvd out of it because of this and an uncensored vinushka pv, which is what i'm hoping for :U

I actually kind of like it. I'd say this is a statement from the band to push the artistic boundaries which restrict artists in Japan. The band has always done stuff like this no matter how ridiculous it is.

The complete PV is already available at the Japanese iTunes, so I guess it's going to be on the Internet pretty soon. Couldn't find it on YouTube or ニコニコ yet, though.

EDIT: Also, why so mad about the PV? It doesn't seem that different from ASOM or Obscure.

Randomly throwing in hentai is a bit 'ehgh' for me. It's on a different level of 'shock', I guess. Not really a higher level than ASOM or Obscure, but it just feels like a cheap way of scoring, like as if they would just have the entire PV be porno or whatever

Disgusting.

Revolting.

Perfect.

I like this a lot more than their other PVs that were just... awful. I didn't understand those ones and I don't understand this one, but I don't understand it in the best of ways. It seems like a real controversial video they've got here like Obscure, but the other ones were just pointless images and random thoughts thrown together to make a video.

I'm sorry guys, but we don't live in the 1990's anymore. There's nothing shocking about videos like Obscure, ASOM, or a video where you throw in some random hentai clips. There's just nothing shocking about it at all. Would have been 13-20 years ago, but not today.

^The Japanese, despite their exposure to some seriously messed up stuff, largely has a weak stomach for things like this. It is culturally significant. We may not find it that big of a deal including myself, but I'm sure many do.

I can't even count how many fan reactions I read to the hagshisa to pv where they were all horrified at something that we may consider sooo juvenile and minor. I remember when a video of Dir en grey's Budokan show surfaced when they first unveiled the PV, and the blood curdling screams that followed when Kyo's eye (poorly CGI'd) fell out.

EDIT: something else that came to mind. Tentacle hentai is very common place in Japan -- sure. But for it to be shown through a musical medium outside of the context of anime and manga and all of that, is a big deal. To me it's completely unheard of for a band to do that that has enough prominence in the mainstream for it to get wide attention. (You won't see the GazettE doing stuff like that lol!)

eh, so this PV preview is legit.

And humm, hentai is not shocking ever,

unless you can shown penis or vaggo without getting pixelated.

Now you do something there.

Lol tentacle rape. Was kind of expecting it seeing as the first preview had tentacles wrapped around Japan.

and how the hell am i supposed to view it on that site?=p haha

cant find a play button or something anywhere=P

You have to register to the site to view the videos. Use Google if you can't read Japanese.

works for me.

and most of the videos you have to have an account and log-in.

and i think there was a warning about the video being grotesque [assumption, I just click the first optioned they shared when the video page loaded xD].

I just see a black box and it says that the video is playing, but I can't see anything but the comments. Sucks. Could someone down- and upload this or something? Pretty please?

EDIT: Never mind, it works with Firefox. Funny thing is, I was using Chromium earlier, it didn't work and they advertise Chrome on the site :D

Pv seems not really good but I am not shocked for the hentai thing. Actually I think it's a cool idea to put it. But.. why do Japanese ALWAYS censore?! Come on :D

Hmm, I don't know about Italy, but I seriously doubt Tentacle rape would be allowed to be broadcast on TV in here, either. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if that censored version would cause quite a uproar on its own.

The anime does so not fit in the pv... why...

But its quite obvious that the whole octopus thing is a symbol related to the fukushima accident.

Btw, ive really started to like the song. Gave it 5 in the review thread, it has grown to 8/10 now. Quite awesome ^^

I used the streamable one and the constant japanese scrolling across the screen was really fucking annoying but other than that, yeah nothing. I personally wasn't affected one way or another by all the tentacle rape and blood and zombiecosplay but I also can see that causing one hell of a commotion over "inappropriate and explicit" material. It'd be pretty much the same in America too.

I also heard someone draw parallels to the OBSCURE video but since the quality was utter shit I can't say. There wasn't much to "see".
