He mentioned it in the commentary from last stream, which he only kept up as long as the archive was up. I DL'd the commentary so I can check again, but I'm pretty sure my memory is correct that when talking about future plans etc he said 50 FC tickets were delivered to the office (not in relation to the 7/7 stream) but because of corona everything's up in the air & there might not be an announcement in the end. I'll also never claim to be ~fluent~ but Ao's not hard to understand, so I'm pretty confident I heard right.
I don't think there's a higher priced ticket for this particular stream either🤔 at least I only saw one option when buying mine.

I almost missed the deadline to buy it last time because it was so last minute 😫 hoping it's sooner rather than later.
Incidentally I bought up a good chunk of cali's discography recently from puresound & sadly blue film did not have the condom with it 😢

Yeah, that was one of the reasons why they were discussing it. I live in Osaka, the center of the "oh no COVID spreading through live houses" debacle.
The general conclusion that Ao came to was that it would probably be impossible anyway, unless tickets were seriously expensive just to cover the costs of the venue & staff, etc. and that's with playing on a weekday and the band getting 0 from it iirc I'm all for a seated live tbh

I thought for "混沌の猿" he just goes around throwing bananas or is that not the normal shtick for it??? I honestly don't own any of the DVDs and have only seen what's on youtube, and that one time I saw them. Actually that reminds me, he brought up how he would have to have the bananas individually wrapped now and "I can't throw them, I'd have to gently hand them" thanks COVID😂 😂
I think at least part of the streaming issues were server issues🤔 There's the possibility that chop had a weak connection, but that shouldn't affect the archive and the archive kept stopping for Ao and other viewers last night...
It's so funny to me that cali gari is considered a small band. I mean, even Ao brought up they were too small to do all seated venues--the subject brought up because COVID and basically "well we're all old right". Of course, I get it, but considering the level of VK I went to back in the day & considering the lives that I go to now where there's like 10~30 fans and the rest of the audience is the other bands, cali gari is huge in my eyes😂😂😂
A lot of tiny bands are doing or have done free streams (artistic public, rimcat off the top of my head), but fair point. I can't imagine cali gari doing a streamed live without some way of making money off of it. Guess we'll just have to wait and see then.Total Saikou reacted to this -

basically any song that had a guitar solo Ao was calling himself 必死 lol I believe it was either ハイカラ or midnight! (or a song somewhere around there, it wasn't very far in) that Ao said "I know the solo up until this part but then I completely forgot what it was so I figured as long as I play it's ok." I think it was overnight hiking when he was like doing air guitar and Shuuji & Kenjiro were carrying on without him that he was going on about how "VK guitarists are usually so good and then THERE'S ME and look at them they don't even need me they're just carrying on without me lmao" I could be remembering wrong when exactly he brought it up because I mean it was a long live and I didn't exactly take notes on what Ao was saying this is all just from memory 😂
I honestly only listened to the recorded version of この雨に撃たれて for the first time after that live so I wouldn't know what was messed up but that must have been the point where Ao said that Shuuji forgot the lyrics

Yeah, I went to that live because XA-VAT was playing too! I don't think I would have gone if it was just cali gari because I was of the mindset "oh i can see cali gari anytime" which, I mean, I wasn't wrong but also I haven't gotten around to seeing cali gari again... so moot point. I've seen SPEECIES more than I've seen cali gari or XA-VAT at this point.
I'm also curious what the youtube channel will bring. It's not like they were particularly clear on what they mean by "cali gari related content"🤔
Perhaps the next stream will be on youtube since e+ had so many problems🤔🤔

Yeah he brought up he loves it and it's sold at the 100yen lawson by his house so he's buying it all the time these days. they didn't have it the day of the live but he'd noticed it at the vending machine when they went in to chop, put 200 yen in his costume & during overnight hiking went to buy it rather than play air guitar the whole time lol
He kept going on about how shuuji & kenjiro just kept going without him, did they even need him, & did they even notice he was gone?, well shuuji probably didn't because he was stuck in the same position the whole live, with his prompter... lol
Anyway hi all, I've liked cali gari for years, haven't kept up at all in the past few years, but with corona I have had a lot of time to myself so I guess I decided to dive right back in and be shuuji's personal atm by joining the FC after years of humming and hawing over whether I should or not. I've only seen cali gari once & it was the live that the FC dvd that's coming out soon was from lol

No problem! There were a lot of fun things from the initial stream & Ao's stream. The live itself was out of synch with audio & visual when it initially went live so the whole time everyone was talking about watching with their eyes half closed (it was pretty hilarious). Today Ao was like "quit that talk! it's fixed!!"
The live didn't start on time because Shuuji was doing last minute makeup.
Ao got annoyed by how long it took for the camera to get downstairs, which was why he was standing on the platform out on the floor in front of the stage apparently.
Ao was correcting people's japanese.
The setlist was decided by Ao & some of the songs were so old no one could play them during the rehearsal and kenjiro & shuuji suggested cutting them (but they didn't). Funnily enough it was one of the newer songs that Shuuji forgot some lyrics to (even with his prompter) lol
the world wide comments were definitely made in earnest. They had no idea about e+'s system & to be honest most japanese people probably don't even realize it either. It's a shame, especially since it was a really good live.

it's a commentary track that goes with the live footage which can still be viewed until tomorrow at 10pm if you bought the ticket. It's Ao and a staff member commenting on it. There are multiple times where ao pauses the video too so you have to make sure to pause with him if watching/listening...
highlights from the commentary:
- "Kenjiro is so skilled I have NO idea why he is doing cali gari"
- Ao is Shuuji's biggest fan
- Ao is cali gari's biggest fan
- Making fun of Shuuji for constantly reading the lyrics from a prompter "ishii prompter shuuji" is what he ended up being called
- Making fun of Shuuji for standing completely still the whole time when mannequin came on Ao just went "I've come to see shuuji himself as a mannequin at this point"
- Ao making fun of himself and his skill level in comparison. Also, how he doesnt remember what he's supposed to do for any of the solos so he's just going JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL basically when he plays them
- Talking about an effector that makes the guitar sound worse and how much he loves it
- "Right... right there that's when i stopped playing during overnight hiking. OH I NEED TO GO GRAB MY DR. PEPPER" because of course Ao had one prepared for viewing tonight
Idk it was fun and interesting to hear Ao's thoughts while watching it. There are a lot of stupid tidbits but not sure how interesting they are to anyone.
Unfortunately e+ you have to have a Japanese phone number and credit card (or go pay at the convenience store) so I rolled my eyes every time they mentioned "people from all over the world can see this!" Hopefully the next stream wont be e+ but who knows.
I got my copy of 暗い日曜日 the other day so I assume they still have copies for people who join the fanclub now if they're still advertising it.
the big announcement is a maybe. they've had many meetings about whatever it is but there's a good chance they wont be able to announce anything. so i guess what i'm saying is dont get your hopes up

So in my experience--which is 5 years of going to concerts here--it is 100% normal to say 行く for going to a concert (or ライブ as it is often referred to--コンサート is usually used for things like orchestras etc). I hear it, I use it, and I am asked it all the time in relation to lives.
○○に行く ⇒ I am going to (whatever concert, whatever band)
○○に行くつもりです or ○○行く予定です⇒ I intend on going to~ or I plan on going to~
are completely fine.
Another point is in English we say "I am going to~" as future tense. You cannot use ～ている form as future tense. It is a current state of being. If you say (concert)に来ている！ you are saying that you are coming to the concert right now (it's not quite the right word choice in that situation either, but that's another topic). It would be the same for a band coming to a place--you wouldn't say ～に来ている unless they are on their way right now, instead it would be ～に来る
However, imagine you just told your friend you are going to a live. After you have revealed that, imagine that you now want to know if they are going too. In that situation, you are more likely to ask 来る？ or to tell them something like 来てね！/来てほしい right. If you are undecided about whether or not you are going to the concert you would ask them 行く？
An important note, when someone is going to a concert, whether you are there are not, and you want to tell them to enjoy it you would NOT say 楽しんでいって instead you would tell them 楽しんできて

昔にはヴィジュアル系に行ってたけどもう卒業した(笑)今はメタルコアやハードコアのライブによく行く。やっぱりヴィジュアル系より、楽なんだ。
ライブ以外、普段はよくNetflix見たり、ポケモンGOやったりするね😊偶に飲みにも行くけど、年取ってる()もし飲みに行ったら、次の日にしんどすぎてそろそろバーに行くのやめようかなっと(笑)
最近日本語能力試験のためまた自分で日本語を勉強してきた。12月にN2を受験することになったけどマジで不安😢

Years studied: Uh, 2.5 at university, then self study on and off. I've lived in Japan for 5 years and that's what improved my japanese the most.
Estimated level: advanced.
Knowledge of Hiragana/Katakana: all.
Kanji: if you're asking me to handwrite, not many at all. I can read basic readings of probably 1000~ kanji. I can recognize the meaning of more (but not be able to tell you how to read it). It's hard to assess because, well, I don't/can't really count them; depends on what criteria you're using; for many kanji I know them in the context of words, not a single kanji alone.
What is your main goal with studying Japanese?: need to improve vocabulary and grammar. I want to pass the N2 for job related reasons.
What materials have you used before?: At uni we used Genki 1 & 2 but I wasn't a big fan at all. I don't know what we used when I studied abroad, but I wasn't that into it either. I've used memrise to help with learning vocabulary. JET program japanese language course books two years (intermediate, advanced). I'm currently using sou matome, but it seems way too easy for the N2--also, not the biggest fan of the grammar book.
But really, I learned through immersion. I lived in a really small town for three years and had to use japanese every day. I couldn't be shy and not speak japanese--otherwise I'd never talk at all. On the other hand, I feel like my skills went down after moving to osaka. I've started self studying again & my boyfriend only speaks japanese so I feel like I'm slowly getting back to where I used to be.

I'm not surprised given he was their support since roji left, but a part of me hoped that out of nowhere rai (gigamous) would be the new guy lmao
Considering he's nowhere near where roji is skill-wise, I'm even more pessimistic about their future than I was before when it was announced that roji was leaving💁
Anyway, they also announced their oneman tour. The anniversary live is in tokyo👀 but the tour final is osaka👀
