  1. I went to that elect horror pictures show live tonight btw

    曖昧中毒

they do have another release that was released today, live house only and is limited to 100 copies (only 90something are for sale because the members "bought" copies each).

The cool thing about them was there were only bassists. Three bassists + the singer who would sometimes play too. There was some really great parts but overall I feel like once the novelty of 3 bassists wears off that's where enjoying the band also ends.

as for what's going on with 太平洋ベルト

they had a bunch of old CDs with them, nothing new, but I guess the prices were lowered a bit?

they seem to have updated their website (kind of) since I last looked at it http://id6.fm-p.jp/129/osibe/

    マツタケワークス

    Eiji's cult lives on

I'm  guessing at this point they wont be making any new music considering they've done matsutake works for so long and not put out anything. the only goods they had were cheki--a year or so ago they had stickers but it seems like they dont even sell those anymore

It's prob gonna be fun, they seem to be pretty energetic (when they're actually playing songs lmao)

    Pinokiwo tho....

Yeah I'm looking forward to seeing 太平洋ベルト ...possibly more than I am matsutake works (sorry eiji)....

I've survived Pinokiwo once but idk if I can do it again. Let's just hope the bar is separate from the floor so I can escape (._.; )

oh man i'm feeling that Kalavinka (now that i have a chance to listen) & 首振りDolls 👌
Not so big on Otome Kokka and they're kind of a mess imo--demoting their drummer because he sucked (to what? their mascot? idek what he does anymore i dont really keep up with them) and getting a new drummer--almost losing their contract with Terakoya (because...they're not that good ? and have like 2 fans total idk).

  3. I'm not sure how much I have to add but yes 新宿ゲバルト plays occasionally in Tokyo they've got a few lives coming up this year tbh

太平洋ベルト  I've only ever seen them listed at THE ELECT HORROR PICTURE SHOW series of lives that often has matsutake works playing at and other bleep bloops (unfortunately including pinokiwo....). They're actually coming down to Osaka and boy am I ready for that👌

  4. Ahhh, I loved them.  I saw them over 10 times they were always so fun

I didnt get to go to the last live but i'm glad I was able to go to the revival last year

I've also gone to sessions that Juki and Syuma have been in but as expected I'd rather see Oneness😂

I went to a GARAK'S instore back in feb and Syuma was like "next time wear the [Oneness] hat" lmao😂

  5. I really like the few songs I've heard by them

pretty bummed they came to Osaka on Sunday it was really bad timing. i wanted to go :(

  6. Hello let's talk about HONE YOUR SENSE again

Yesterday was Kenta's last live and HYS' first oneman

    DAW1TMGUAAAwsI1.jpg

they played all of their songs

    DAWx_yZVYAALIV2.jpg

Including my personal favorite: No one can stop my bath

They mentioned yesterday that a new guitarist was decided and officially announced today that Hiro is their new guitarist.

    His twitter: https://twitter.com/Jts_mt

    And newest photo:

    DAbfWKcWsAAkETO.jpg

I'm still shocked at Satoshi cutting his hair

Anyway I wonder if this will change their sound at all or not🤔

Oh yeah and they're putting forward a compilation album with like 17 bands total for 1000yen it's gonna be pretty sweet👌

  7. Not counting cheki... gigamous, souiumono, roji from XAA-XAA, GARAK'S. I was never really able to go to many signing in stores now that I think about it

I had a signed shounenki cheki file but that's been sold lol

  8. personally I wouldn't say them not looking at you is snubbing you

Also I was always fond of sitting on the floor and headbanging. I think that's one thing I will miss from VK haha

I think my fav non-VK experience was Bara from HONE YOUR SENSE handing me a beer from the stage😂

    As for VK....

I can't count catching picks/drum sticks/etc as special, like them looking at me,  talking directly to me or being given the mic to say something/scream at a live because that's honestly not that unusual.

I've gone to like 200 VK lives so under a spoiler because there's a lot of little things (and this is the condensed version)

    XAA-XAA:

    • Their first oneman was so freaking memorable. There was caution tape everywhere. When Kazuki did his recitation he had to hide behind the book because he couldn't look at us (and we were dying trying not to laugh) and at the end Roji destroyed his drumset and knocked some equipment down and we're pretty sure XAA-XAA was banned from Clapper after that lmao

    Souiumono:

    • When the jouren wasn't there, Nuppe would kneel on me instead during gyakudive to pull people in :')
    • At Christmas in 2014 they had two days of onemans and they played ALL their songs and it was just so fun. I finally got to hear some songs I'd never heard before.

    花少年バディーズ

    • One time a plushie banana hit me in the face and took my contact out so I had to take my other one out for the rest of the live lmao. Also the next time I saw them Tsubuku asked if I was okay that time :')
    • I was at the live they announced their "hiatus" at and after they finished the oneman as an in store they had a second set and they played Balloon and got down into the audience and we made a circle around all the members and it was probably the best atmosphere at a live I've ever felt at a live

    えんそく

    • In general is just really fun but what really impressed me was when Ensoku played with ReVision of Sence the ReVision fans did their best to try to get into it...and then during ReVision of Sence all the Ensoku girls stayed and we had so much fun with ReVision.

    クレイドル

    • At their last live they almost canceled the show after the first song because some girl bough up the earliest numbers and put guys in the front row and had them just stand there doing nothing in order to ruin the show. Reno was pissed off.

    平成維新

    • Just being able to see them at their one day revival last year was basically the highlight of my year last year as bangya

    ワンネス

    • Being able to go to their one day revival since I wasn't able to go to their last live was pretty great.

One time I was waiting for GAGA to come on and my friend showed up at the live house and so I waved to her and Varyl thought I was waving to them and started waving at me from their merch table lmao...sorry, not you.

At the new years live Shellmy's Hyo was pretty drunk and started standing on the rail at the back of Soma so I started scolding him telling him to get down and he realized he was stuck and couldn't get down so I had to tell Kou to pull Hyo off of the rail (Kou was just laughing and wasn't going to do it) and em and Hyo ended up forming a little crowd because no one knew he could speak English apparently

  9. back when i was bangya and had the time and money to travel for concerts i was still generally stuck on only being able to go on saturdays, since i lived in shimane and there was no way i could get back if it was a sunday. So basically i chose the dates that were on saturdays and went for it--I never went off of honshu mostly because of the time and money it would take to go somewhere outside of the hiroshima~tokyo area.

Depending on where I went determined my method of transportation.

    • Tokyo: cheapest was overnight bus but because of foot swelling issues and the fact that it was 11hrs, etc etc I went for the second cheapest option which was flying
    • Nagoya: before the foot swelling really happened I would bus there then shinkansen back. Eventually I stopped going to Nagoya.
    • Hiroshima~Osaka: bus(es)

As for accommodations I would generally go for the business hotel route too. Hostels would be cheaper but I dont want to share a room with strangers, basically. Also I wanted my own bathroom.

After a while I would just stay with friends in whatever city I went to. And to be honest if I have any piece of advice it is that: stay with friends. Cutting out the cost of hotels/accommodations can make an otherwise expensive trip reasonable.

Eventually I moved to Osaka and stopped enseiing. I just went to lives there, which is still mostly true since I just go to metalcore and hardcore now instead of VK.

I would also recommend using sites like bushikaku.net to compare bus prices.

Also: as an ex-bangya I regret how much money I spent on cheki before. they're useless. get a towel or something instead.

  10. I didn't buy the CD and haven't been going to VK lives so I honestly don't have anything to contribute right now

    as for in stores...

a lot of people leave buying the CD for the in store until last might so generally you don't have to worry about it... just if you do that you'll probably get a shit number and have to stand at the back.

A lot of these places don't ship overseas and even if they have the option for letting you pick it up in stores AND reserve an in store ticket at the same time they'll only hold it for you for like a week. Like an Edison holds CDs for one month.

Unless the CD isn't out yet you shouldn't even have to fill out anything to get an in store ticket.

The CD order forms that you are given you just have to fill out 1. your name 2. your address 3. your phone number and then the CD info but tbh the shop staff normally fills out the CD info for me.

If the CD is out you just go buy it and say you want to participate in the in store and they just give you the ticket right then and there.

I'm not as up to date on stores in Tokyo or internet mail order forms since I live in Osaka and can just go to the stores myself these days but all the stores methods are just variations on a theme

  11. @doombox yeah i really appreciate BDP when it comes to the composition.  I prefer BDP live honestly...probably because I can appreciate the instrumental bits more w

@itsukoii yeah while some screaming types are not my cup of tea, i do appreciate range... on the other hand I still love Bara (HONE YOUR SENSE's vocalist). I appreciate the fact that he's screaming so clearly so I can make out a lot of it lol Plus unrelated to his style of singing he's incredibly nice 👌  To be honest, HYS in general is full of some pretty great guys.

Anyway! Glad you liked like a corpse too. Their stage presence is very similar to suggestions, actually. One time the other day the bassist got off the stage and just laid on the (dirty) floor playing while staring up at the ceiling ww

Here's another video of suggestions where he legit tosses himself over the rail for your viewing pleasure

It definitely leaves an impression www but it's shit like that that I love. He's so committed on stage to this persona 👌

If you ever come to Japan and get a chance to see them you should. it's an experience 👌 Plus they're actually quite nice ww

  12. @itsukoii no problem :) I go to a lot of metalcore now which as you can imagine means i end up seeing a lot of deathcore too

HOTOKE was pretty great live and tbh so is BDP. I think the recording lost a lot of the quality for BDP because the composition is actually quite good--the vocals arent my thing, though, as i mentioned before. They're young and have been around for like two? months so they just need time

You might want to check out suggestions & like a corpse too if you havent. I think like a corpse calls themselves deathcore. suggestions is actually downtempo deathcore and as they like to say "sadcore"

I posted a different video of suggestions before so here's a different one

the vocalist of suggestions is very committed to creating the atmosphere ( @doombox I found a video of it)

like a corpse has a very similar stage presence

    anybody know japanese deathcore?

i've already got bands such as Chain Disaster, ALL DISTURB, HONE  YOUR SENSE, Inception of Genocide, Mirrors, and Victim of Deception. bands like those would be great.

is the japanese deathcore scene really as small as i think it is or am i just really uninvolved.....

btw i just realized you didn't mention HOTOKE so

I saw them with HYS, LDD & IOG so I'd put them in that group. Idk if you already know them or not.

Betrayer Death Penalty is pretty new but definitely worth checking out

the fucking geezer part always cracks me up. their bassist is insane.

the singer is at like literally ever live i ever go to; I always see him around lol his screams arent really my thing but deathcore i'm pretty picky about in general for that reason💁

  14. My favorite live houses would have to be like Shinsaibashi DROP, Shinsaibashi VARON or Umeda Zeela. They're in a group of sister live houses and the atmosphere is just super chill. It's good that I like them because my lives are almost exclusively at these three live houses these days lol...

I also like Hiroshima's Second Clutch for no particular reason.

On the other hand I'm not too terribly fond of most Tokyo live houses.

Live houses I have a problem with:

    • AREA & Edge because of staff. Also AREA's bathrooms are gross and the sound is bad.
    • FANJ twice: long, narrow, stage is incredibly high (which is goodish if you're in the back but up front not so much), the rail is horrible, etc
    • Kitahorie Pan Koujo: long, narrow, the stage is so low that if you're in the back you can't see ANYTHING. They don't give you bread anymore!!
    • Minamihorie Socore Factory: it's the same as pan koujo
    • Any live house like Live House D, Namba Rockets (RIP), and duo music exchange that has huge freaking columns in the middle of it

  15. @doomboxwill do!

Suggestions is an e x p e r i e n c e live and the fact that they call themselves sadcore makes me love them a little more :') but yeah I really like BmW too. At first I was kinda meh about them but they grew on me ww

Yeah it's no problem! Give me the deets on facebook ok??

Right :'( but I will go to tokyo if I can spare the money for it too. I already told sable hills & abstracts's guitarist about my predicament lmao

  16. @doombox i've just been going around seeing LDD and HYS and getting exposed to all these random bands along the way without knowing who the f they are haha i guess maybe I should start giving you recommendations from the super indies bands I keep seeing then👌 (if so: Breathe my Words, Sable Hills, Suggestions)

Actually the earthists live I'll go to is their release party. did you need me to grab you their CD while I'm there??

Yeah, I really like abstracts' melodic version of djent; it's so chill. I'm so frustrated that they're playing with Sable Hills in Osaka on May 21st and May 21st is also HYS' first oneman in Tokyo. I can't be in two places at once!!!
