It's easy to talk about "dignity" from the position of a person who sits in front of the computer and most of their music is downloaded. Sorry, but money rules this world. You either eat or get eaten. I don't think any way to achieve success is wrong, as long as you get what you wanted. When you're full of morals, you won't achieve anything, because other people will use unfair methods to succeed and you'll be left behind. These bands just try to succeed and you don't know Japanese girls. They often prostitute themselves to support their favorite band or do mitsu for their beloved band member, so stop with these morals.

Meanwhile , I was thinking about DEATHGAZE doing One Direction tribute : What Makes You Beautiful ... only joking ...
I have been thinking a reason for a band to have a tribute ? So , I come up with 2 respected tribute for ガゼット (the GazettE) , since they rarely re-record their own stuffs , popular , they have changed a lot , and includes a lot of different styles , from their indie with a lot of weird funky screaming tracks , slow emotional style , to their nowadays heavy metal , speedy mad melodic , metalcore , electronic within , maybe not everyone favorite , and I have to say i do like their indie work more than major (mainly after 2011) , and I am sure there is a huge range of fans . new VK bands can play their songs well ! Anyway , here are my 2 respected tribute albums for ガゼット (the GazettE) .
Tribute Album Title : Psychedelic Gallery ~genesis~ Track list : 01 WING WORKS「The $ocial Riot Machine$」 Can you imagine the RYO:SUKE rework on the middle part from 1:26 with his electronic dub-step dance tune !? YES !!!!!! 02 Lycaon「Last bouquet」 Lycaon used to be great , this style of song suits 悠希's voice , and I can see サトシ playing the guitar + 零's solo !!!!! 03 DIAURA「貴女ノ為ノ此ノ命。」 1 of the BEST ガゼット's song ever , and yo-ka voice is very similar this age of Ruki . 04 BugLug「赤いワンピース」 Nice Encore song at Live , I'm sure BugLug sounds good on this song !! 05 ダウナー「幸せな日々」 DOWNER's japanese style could refashion this song into it . 06 DIV「Cassis」 Not so many band like DIV , because they compose of slow emotional songs are great , I'm sure they can play this track with tears blasting out !! 07 R指定「REGRET」 Since late 2012 , R指定 compose quite a lot of slower , less heavy track , I think they would be great covering this song ! 08 GOTCHAROCKA「「これで良かったんです・・・」」 Dunno why I am feeling 樹威's voice has a high pitch , that's why I give them this song , and JUN's guitar seems to be less heavy as Phantasmagoria , this song suits their style ! 09 Sick²「☆BEST FRIENDS☆」 Not only the stars suits ジェネ★'s voice , and I can imagine hearing them cover ☆BEST FRIENDS☆ , this is gonna be Sick...² ! 10 GIGAMOUS「LINDA~candydive Pinky heaven~」 Because of GIGAMOUS craziness , I can see how they playing it with a bit of giga swagger ! 11 Royz「泣ヶ原」 Well , Royz never have a song over 6 mins !! It is a good chance for them to performing live of this song and 昴 voice can bring the emotion out of the track . 12 BORN「紅蓮」 Well , BORN just taking a piss lately about their metal-crazy-rock-wannabe , maybe calm down a bit , singing this song for the ガゼット sake !! 13 Xepher「未成年」 Xepher is the future Super Stunning band , and I believe in them !!!!! 100+10% sure they can cover this song as the whole band is awesome !! 14 グリーヴァ「関東土下座組合」 I can see グリーヴァ playing this cover without a doubt !! 15 Black Gene For the Next Scene「ワイフ」 Bassist Rame can totally nailed this old school indie gaze-track , and Ice can scream as high as Ruki was , with the weird 2 steps of the songs just like the other BFN's songs !!   Tribute Album Title : Psychedelic Gallery ~death~ Track list : 01 MEJIBRAY「Filth in the beauty」 One of the most successful Heavy Metal track from the GazettE and 綴's voice would be great on this track , again , try to listen to this song , imagine is MEJIBRAY !! 02 SCREW「Ruder」 SCREW has all the energy to play this song , especially 鋲 don't need to sing that much in this song,
mainly focus on scream the song out and just being who he is ! 03 己龍「赫い鼓動」 Just put 己龍 in your mind when you listen to this song ! The other reason is ... 己龍 never have any English spelling song , so ... there you go ! 04 AvelCain「LEECH」 WoW , they would be a great combination !! 05 CELL-セル-「奈落」 This song's guitar sounds very spooky in some ways , which is perfect for CELL-セル- image !!!! 06 lynch.「MOB 136 BARS」 It is so lynch. !!!!! Can't think of anything else except imagining lynch. playing it !!!!! 07 Avidit.「VENOMOUS SPIDER'S WEB」 This is song itself is good to play , and it actually sounds like Avidit.'s floor Reflection (from their 2012.03 single Psalms of Planet) !! 08 アルルカン「No.[666]」 This song is made for them to cover !!!!! 09 BIOSPHIA「DISCHARGE」 BIOSPHIA is so underrated , but his voice got the power to sing and scream ! 10 LIV'ERT「13STAIRS[-]1」 This is like , the style made for LIV'ERT , especially 2:06 guitars !! 11 xTRiPx「Anti Pop」 Seems like their style , I maybe wrong , but their lately RIDE-HAZARD single just similar to this track ! 12 新興宗教楽団NoGoD「IN THE MIDDLE OF CHAOS」 団長 can nailed this song easily , but I am not sure will they play such 'slow' tempo song , but I really like this song . 13 アヲイ「バレッタ」 The BEST Track from 「NIL」 and suits アヲイ's metal side !! 14 サディ「舐~zetsu~」 Why Sadie ? They are one of those few bands that can play slow heavy metal with a great technique and vocal . 15 DEATHGAZE「Headache Man」 I really want to hear DEATHGAZE cover this song !! No joke !! It would be crazy as F you see K !!

    MALICE MIZER tribute album

Some of these are pure fantasy since this isn't going to happen anyway, but a few are pretty plausible cover candidates I think!  The order of the tracks is also a bit random, but I think it's practically a requirement that "Bois de merveilles" be the closing track.  Enjoy!

    1. au revoir - Moran
Moran really screwed up their chance to cover "Illuminati" unfortunately, but I don't think that song was really right for them in the first place.  Anyway, I'm prepared to give Moran a second chance and because they really shine on their light, dreamy ballad-type songs, I think "au revoir" is a great fit.
    2. Le ciel - DIMMDIVISION.
Le ciel is already a pretty dreamy song, so I can imagine DIMMDIVISION. adding their shoegazey flair and producing magic for my ears.  Their song ".ReyarP" comes to mind as proof that they could pull this off.
    3. Gardenia - 네미시스 (Nemesis)
I think it's pretty obvious when listening to Nemesis that despite not being visually inspired, the band must be closet fans of light, frilly VK like this.  Their orchestral arrangements are always beautiful and their guitarist is also a lovely piano player, so they could definitely do some justice to this song.
    4. N・p・s N・g・s - 己龍 (Kiryu)
I can really imagine Kiryu putting their unique, crazy spin on this track.  The creepy talking parts and the "DIE GAME" parts are begging to be Mahiro-fied.
    5. Syunikiss ~二度目の哀悼~ - Vior gloire
I really struggled with finding a good band to cover "Syunikiss" until I remembered Vior gloire.  Their songs occasionally had a grandiose/cinematic quality.  That combined with Shall's special vocals make Vior gloire a strong candidate for this song.
    6. 記憶と空 - Megaromania
Neoclassical guitar riffs and questionable vocals? Sounds like a job for Megaromania!
    7. エーゲ ~過ぎ去りし風と共に~ - DOPPEL
Thinking back to DOPPEL's songs like "Eggknock" and "Moonlight xxxx," I think they could produce a neat, twinkly update of this classic MM track.
    8. 麗しき仮面の招待状 - Kaya
The VK queen of goth/electronic.  While "Illuminati" seems like an obvious choice, I'd rather hear Kaya's take on the Gackt-era's first single.  This song already has a slight dancey beat, so I can easily see Kaya going all out and doing a full-blown gothy/electronic rendition.
    9. 白い肌に狂う愛と哀しみの輪舞 - Lacroix Despheres
The self-labeled "Symphonic Gothic Rock Opera" group has some definitely influence from MALICE MIZER's Klaha era (the Bara no Seidou album), so they seem like a great fit for this track.  Not to mention, Sho's vocals actually do resemble Klaha's somewhat.  I can see them adding their signature, whimsical oboe/flute (and maybe even Saya's vocals for a duet?) making it totally their own.  It worked on "Le sortilege" and "天啓の瞳" so they could definitely work their magic again.
    10. 幻想楽園 - Nocturnal Bloodlust
Why not have MALICE MIZER's by far heaviest song get covered by the most br00tal VK band around.  It'd be interesting to hear them deathcore-ify this track, haha.
    11. ヴェル・エール ~空白の瞬間の中で~ - Jupiter
Songs like "Bel Air" show that even though Malice Mizer was mostly known for their diverse influences and theatrics, they also had quite interesting guitar parts.  I think "VK metal" guitarists like Hizaki/Teru could give this song a nice modern update, while still retaining the unique atmosphere of the original.  Plus, I think ZIN could do a great job on vocals.
    12. Beast of Blood - 関西耽美系~Lily Project~
Harpsichord, heavy repetitive riffs, and a dramatic chorus?  Only Lily project!  I'm sure Seira would do his unique German growls at some point in the song too, haha.
    13. 死の舞踏 - Sito Magus
With songs like "necromance," I'm sure Sito Magus could produce a beautiful cover of this old MM favorite.  They would probably slow it down and add even more elements of classy gothic atmosphere.
    14. Bois de merveilles - KAMIJO
While solo KAMIJO has a small repertoire so far, he's already shown on "Grazioso" that he's capable of waltzy, soundtrack-worthy arrangements like "Bois de merveilles."  Plus, KAMIJO idolizes vocalist Gackt, so...

Tetora reacted to hyura in Madeth Gray'll History Question
I like that you rewrite their biography, the one that's currently used on most other pages has been copypasted for over 10 years I think and Madeths popularity really deserves to have a proper one.
It seems to be correct for the most part, too, as far as I can tell without checking every date.

I'd propably consider adding information about their activities besides release names and dates, though. Especially the first period with all the demotapes seems a little like they didn't know what they were doing written like that while it really was a well planned promotion campaign!

The three first demos (norowareshi hana no seimei, kuroshouzoku no shirabe, missantroop) could be preordered through Matina and they cost money. At this point Madeth did not yet have a single live performance yet and they were called a 'Vierge members unit band' Those tapes sold out and the bands identity was revealed at their first 'secret' live (which was not secret at all) on christmas 97' at which you got the forth tape, kyoushikyoku.
So it was only after that that they started actual activities. They announced their first 'official' release, the kyoushirakuen tape and three live dates to promote it before named hakuchuumu no sangeki, chizome no kigeki and operaza no higeki and at each you got a demo with the same title containing a sample.

Of course one doesn't need it that detailed, I just think that it's more coherent if you include some important live dates and activities. At least mentioning the onemans they had (just very few) and when they had a tour. Do you have their history album? The history printed in the booklet is not bad at all.
(ask me anything though. orz I have almost all their flyers and interviews and no idea what to do with the senseless infos)

    Some mistakes, though:
I think you actually mixed up ukyou and izumi!
When the second juujika no ketsumatsu was released ukyou was already their lead guitarist. you can also hear him in Le MISERABLE and Mother Crisis, as well. Izumi joined later at their first oneman live at 99/8/9.

The last video was not released at their last live. (couldn't have, it contains footage from that day) As far as I know you had to send in a coupon from the live as well as a coupon from their best album and then you could win it through some sort of lottery.

Le MISERABLE was not a new song on the best. It was already released in early 99 on the new age culture vol 2 sampler.

Hisuis disappeared from the scene completely after Rametan Matsuri on 2004/6/12 with kisaki to kansai kizoku. So not in 2007.

I think their last mini is romanized as boukai no mato... but I'm not completely sure. ww

    Gackt - Mars

    April 26, 2000

The first album by Gackt, which featured his second best selling single Vanilla and a myriad of other more experimental tracks featuring a wide range of sounds and instruments, as well as tempos and structures.

This was during a period where Visual Kei, and others forms of `different` rock music started losing its footing in any mainstream context within Japan. Yet this album was regarded as the first of many `monster` albums by Gackt, which enjoyed huge popularity and coverage, despite not being easily definable as mainstream in any sense.
This album really blew open the formula and idea for what a modern, successful Rock album could sound like, and really endorsed freedom to both Gackt`s peers, and listening fans.

Without an album, or artist like this, I feel that what could be mainstream in Japan would have narrowed even further, and we would not have as much freedom in major bands, or even Indie bands in terms of what we could hear.

Although some say Gackt starting straying away from the Visual Kei influence at this time, this is up for debate, as Visual Kei is not clearly defined look or sound-wise, and one could still easily attach Gackt`s look and sound in Mizerable (pre-Mars) Vanilla (Mars), or Redemption / YFC (very post Mars) as Visual Kei.

The album was written, composed and produced by Gackt. He also did the vocals (for those somehow totally unaware of Gackt) and played piano. As composer his influence also runs to the other instruments, though there is input from long-time friends and contributors to Gackt such as You (Violin, Guitar), Chachamaru (Guitar, Associate Producing), and Masa (Guitar).

Although this is a major album, it should be noted that the experimental sound of this album did take a while for the public to warm up to, and in fact following Gackt works which kept with the experimentation were increasingly more accepted by the public.

For those new to Gackt or this album, instead of listening to a Youtube video for this, I recommend you listen to the album in its entirety a couple of times to get a feel for it.

So, the point of this topic is that you'll bring up a few (let's limit it to ~2 RELEASES PER PERSON*) titles that have affected the sound in later generations. AND THIS TIME you don't need to rely on "facts" - unless you are willing to cause shitstorm here: before you post your title, discard the whole "influence fact" mess out of your head - and think how that certain title has influenced IN YOUR OPINION (I am not really looking forward to "opinions are for the weak"-ideology, btw).

I am not really sure whether this kind of idea has been cultivated much earlier here (as in topics with same ideas), but it's still interesting to see that what kind of titles pop up here.

You can format your posts your own way, BUT MAKE SURE it includes following details:

    1) artist title - album title (obviously)
    2) album cover
    3) release date (or release year)
    4) Explanation to your choice (Why? How?)
    5) Youtube link for certain song off the album, if possible (as a showcase/supporting element for your explanation, you can add a small description if you wish)

And definite rule of thumb here is of course: NO SPAM, NO SHITSTORM
*yup, I am quite harsh here.

    Thank you.

As a "firestarter", I will do this first:

AND THIS IS NOT LIMITED TO VK ONLY, GO AHEAD AND POST NON-VK TITLES TOO (that's actually something I'd appreciate too).

So yday i visited Jupiter concert in Warsaw.

Before the guards asked to stop, i managed to take some shoots with the band

I was a bit dissapointed into fans cuz for me it looked like there were less than 100 (mostly kiddos) ppl. Despite the fact, the show was like 2h long (including the encore with 3 songs). The extra stuff was Masahi solo, "Silent knight" from Versailles and their upcomming single "Last moment". The fans could touch the band members several times (pulling Hizakis hair)

Oh and i would be more happy if they would sell not only the merch but cd's aswell.

I hope that there will be more ppl in their shows in Germany and France. Those guys rly deserver it!

I went to the show in Köln last night!!!

I had to deal with some train detour fuckery in order to make it to the venue, but it wasn't a big deal.  There was a tiny line outside of "Die Werkstatt".  Once I made it inside, there were only about 40 people in there.  I stood on the right side (Hizaki side) in the equivalent of the 5ish row.  As far as I could see, there was no real barricade between the band and the audience, so from where I was, it felt like Hizaki was only 10-15 feet away.

Here was my approximate vantage point:

Unfortunately, they said we couldn't take pictures once the band came out (grrr!), but I suppose it was refreshing to be at a show without people filming/taking pics on their iPhones the whole time!  Anyway, the band started fairly promptly at 7:30.  Here's the setlist I managed to note down.

Introduction SE (band walked out dramatically)
    Scarlet
    Aria
    Decadence
    MC by ZIN
    ALLEGORY CAVE
    Bass solo/extended intro, RHYTHMOS
    Nostalgie
Race Wish (from HIZAKI grace project)
    MC by Yuki
    Silent Knight (from Versailles)
    MC by Hizaki
    Heaven's Atlas
    MC by ZIN
    SHOUT YOUR DESIRE
    LAST MOMENT (new single)
    Symmetry Breaking, extended outro
    Classical Element

    Encore
    forever with you
    Blessing of the Future
    Conclusion SE

This is only my third visual kei show, but I absolutely loved it.  ZIN is much better live, simple as that.  Someone on last.fm has already touched on this, but the certain "annoying" moments that he has on CD (exaggerated vibrato and stuff) sound a lot better live.  As in, songs like Scarlet and SHOUT YOUR DESIRE that aren't really my favorites, actually were extremely fun in person.  ZIN had everyone waving their towels during Scarlet.  He kept asking us "ARE YOU FUCKING READY?!" haha.  He also broke out the occasional German phrase.  At one point, after Heaven's Atlas I believe, he said "take your right hand, take your left hand, touch" and he bowed his head and said "Danke schön" haha.  As you can see from the setlist, they played all of their released songs (except for Atmosphere), plus some extras.  Yuki had a little MC where he said he was glad to be back in Germany and he asked us if we'd like to hear a "special song" (Silent Knight).  I was particularly stoked to hear Race Wish (the synthy orchestra intro sounded revamped from the old studio recording) and the upcoming single Last Moment.  The closest song I can compare it to is probably Heaven's Atlas, because it was fast-paced and chuggy, but still with an overall positive mood.  Looking forward to the CD release.  After ZIN left the stage during the instrumental tracks, Hizaki made us call him back, telling us to shout "On bokaaru... ZIN!" (I swear it sounded like he said "Jane" the first couple times though, haha. I were confused...)  After the luscious Classical Element, the band left the stage for maybe 5 minutes and came back in black Jupiter T-shirts for an encore.  The "laaaaa la la" outro of forever with you was surreal, haha.  Of course the band's final track was their first single.  At the end, all of the band members came right to the edge of the stage and I managed to touch Hizaki and Masashi's hands.  Before leaving, ZIN told us that he loved the fans and that the band would be back at some point.  He pinky promised, haha.

    Other important observations:
-Hizaki (T-shirt version) isn't as gaunt/skinny as I was anticipating.
-ZIN does crazy eyes sometimes. He also has this great smirk.  He did this sassy finger wagging during the "nanimo nai" part of Heaven's Atlas.
-1 1/2 to 2 instances of Hizaki x ZIN fanservice.
-Yuki is a killer drummer, but I already knew that.
-There was a man, possibly in his 50s, cosplaying as an "aristocratic VK guy" aka probably Kamijo.
-Hizaki hugged a fan at the end and she cried.
-I would estimate a max of 120 people there, which although it made for a nice fairly intimate atmosphere, was also a bit strange, since I expected way more people.

In short, fucking awesome show.  If you are even kind of a fan of the band and you get the chance to see them, go for it.  I also got to meet Champ (first irl MH-er ever for me, haha), so this was a highly successful weekend.

I hope the French fans have fun tonight!

    Wow this thread's so quiet.

Here are some pics of my room!

^ The back of my room. Books, books, and more books (I even had to shift 2 bookshelves into my bro's room >.<) flanked by some random posters...

^ Front of my room with my bed, working area, and a CD rack - my collection's too scattered and the rest are in a cupboard outside cuz my room's way too small...

My actual bedroom is pretty normal, just a bed, dresser and all that. Most of my home is like that actually.
So here is my corner of the living room.
This desk is actually one of three and it wraps around with another two gaming PCs. The place is kind of a dump right now because we're moving so boxes and junk are kind of all over the place so I don't want to really take a picture of my home looking like it was hit by a tornado.

the pictures i posted in the "Gear"-topic in the musicians sub-forum show quite a lot of my room, so i'm just gonna relink them here
to the left of my room-door you get this__________taking a picture from that blue couch will look something like this
    ___
changing the position to the right with still focusing on the guitar-wall gives you the back of my table/workspace which acts as a room-divider which looks like on the right
    ___
(right picture taken just now with the crappiest cameraphone in the universe...also yes, the amp isn't here right now, it's still in the studio for now)
rotating around the guitar-amp leads to the second to last corner with the bed (behind amp+desk. very important, laptop-table in front of bed ^^)
    ___
and the single remaining corner (obviously again taken just now with my primate-communication-device) contains nothing spectacular.
mainly my closet, a little pizza-oven named steven, a broken laptop-lcd hanging above the max-payne-poster and the blue couch to the right, where we started....

me untidy? why yes, how did you know??

Tetora got a reaction from hiroki in [SOLVED] Anyone ever have this issue with Digital Files?
I fixed using all of the advice you guys gave me.

For some I removed the ID3v1 info, re-filled out the ID3v2 all with Japanese keyboard setting.
    1 I re-ripped.
The last one which was bonus tracks from another CD I couldn`t fix, so I used mp3-to-mp3 forbidden art from Ishiki and made them all uniform. I guess the problem with this one was that the two different CD ID`s somehow interfered? I dunno, I`m not good with this.

Thanks a lot for the help everyone. Now, I put album covers on all my files and my DataBase is pristine!

I remember having to solve a similar problem for a friend. The songs he downloaded was not playing in the good order on his ipod. Firstly, i tried to just rewrite the metadata, but when it doesn't worked, i tried to just convert the .mp3 file:: from .mp3 to .mp3 again, yeah i know that sound stupid to do, but it actually worked for him when i tried. So maybe you can try, just don't forget to enter the metadata to the new .mp3 file.

Try using MP3tag (it's free) for your metadata editing; usually media players aren't the best for that function.

Also, avoid converting from mp3 to mp3 if possible - you lose a bit of quality every time you do a lossy transcode.

Of course, when i said to convert from mp3 to mp3, it was as a last resort, considering he already tried to edit the metadata (as he said in his first post). I use mp3tag to edit my .flac after i rip my cd on my laptop too. But when i tried to edit the metadata of the mp3 of my friend, it didn't solve the problem. Since the problem of Tetora is similar to the one my friend had, i think it would be a good idea to try converting mp3 to mp3. And about the loss of quality, since these are downloaded mp3, if he convert from 320kbps to another 320kbps, or 256 to 256, the small loss of quality is not really important considering it is already not a lossless rip, even more if this can solve the problem. Anyway, i'm curious to know if Tetora found a working solution to his problem.

    Here is mine.
A live distributed CD to be released. (◕‿◕✿)

    Artist: DIR EN GREY
Title: 女々しくて (Shot In One Take) (memeshikute) (Original by Golden Bomber) Release Date: 2014.14.14 Tracklist: 01. DIR EN GREY - 女々しくて (Shot In One Take)

The song itself was secretly recorded in 2010 immediately once they had listened to it for the first time after getting a signed copy; unfortunately, it has been postponed to be released from time to time because the staff didn't let them include it in the deluxe limited edition of DSS as a bonus track.

Cool topic! I'm not very familiar with A9, so I can't really offer a critique on your fantasy tribute. =|

I'm a big fan of tearing down boundaries, taking risks, and being both creative and unpredictable when it comes to music, so my tribute would be very unorthodox! I think it would amazing to hear these bands and their different renditions:

MY DIR EN GREY TRIBUTE ALBUM!

    01: 激しさと、この胸の中で絡み付いた灼熱の闇 - kamomekamome

"Hageshisa..." is a pretty intense song throughout and would suit a "thrashing-ly" hardcore band like kamomekamome. I could imagine them spicing up the riffage a bit, but maintaining the spirit of the song. They'd probably replace kyo's low-growls with screaming (but they're good at it, so... ;P)

    02. CAGE - 9mm Parabellum Bullet

The melodic and hooky nature of this song would be right up 9mm's alley. Not to mention they'd absolutely nail the upbeat instrumentation while managing to infuse their signature sound.

    03. 逆上堪能ケロイドミルク - THE BACK HORN

"Gyakujou Tannou Keloid Milk" has a signature high-note in it that Yamada WOULD NOT be able to hit. For some that would probably kill the song, but I think THE BACK HORN could put enough power behind the rest to make a compelling rendition.

    04. Bottom of the death valley - LOSTAGE

Lostage are fucking fantastic at covering songs AND "RED…[em]" has a great, straightfoward hard-rock sound that would cater to the band's strengths. Although since Takahisa doesn't really scream, their cover wouldn't be as dark as the original. Still tons of room for Takahisa's bass playing to shine, though.

    05. Machiavellism - 八十八ヶ所巡礼

This song has such a sinister yet playful tone to it - 88kasyo could do wonders with this. My only concern would be the more melodic, singing parts since Margaret doesn't really "sing" per se.

    06. 凌辱の雨 - me-al art

I'm specifically referring to the funkier (and all around better) single version of "Ryoujoku no Ame". Imagining Satoko singing the chorus gives me chills. In fact, she'd completely obliterate Kyo on this song. The only real downfall is that Satoko probably can't do the screaming parts.

    07. 悲劇は目蓋を下ろした優しき鬱 - THE NOVEMBERS

Brooding, atmospheric numbers like "Higeki wa Mabuta..." are THE NOVEMBERS' specialty. In fact, I think their cover would be extremely faithful to the original.

    08. raison detre - 凛として時雨

I know I wanted ling tosite to cover ONE of dir en grey's songs, but it was tough to chose one. Ling is an extremely peculiar band, so I think they'd rip a completely new asshole into whatever DEG song they cover. They'd probably change the drumming and speed it up a bit for sure.

    09. INCONVENIENT IDEAL - イツエ

The chorus of this song is so incredibly powerful that you'd need an equally or even more emotive vocalist to sing it, but I think itsue's vocalist fits the bill. There are no screaming or harsh vocals in this song either, so she could definitely pull it off!

    10. THE FINAL - cinema staff

Perhaps one of diru's most pop-oriented songs? What better band to cover this than cinema staff? A band that has both keen pop sensibilities and raw aggression!

OBVIOUSLY this is a highly-unlikely tribute, and my selection of DIR EN GREY songs is horribly biased (I'm just a casual fan, haha). Ardent fans of the band would be both disappointed in the tracklist AND the band selection, but I personally think it would turn out pretty cool!
