  1. ic he down graded the venue here even though I think he sold out? Either way it's like last week since he was here.

Yeah lol my thoughts exactly, "wasn't he here like, two weeks ago or something?"

That being said, I consider going. 41€ isn't that much, and I want to support almost everyone who drags his ass from Japan to Helsinki as long as the bar is open

  2. Most visual kei bands are comprised of a bunch of men who adopt make up and costumes that are seen as traditionally "female".

Most female visual kei bands dress like a bunch of men who adopt make up and costumes that are seen as traditionally "female".

Not many visual bands dress to promote traditional "male" values.

    "crisis of masculinity"

Yeah they are traditionally "female" if we inspect the situation as a westerner. Normal VK bands aren't really considered feminine in Japan.

  3. I just checked out their website and I gotta say I've never even heard of them. But I think you could try ordering something small, and since they only accept Paypal, you can always contact Paypal for a refund! :) It should be fairly easy (I've never done it myself), but I think it should be done in 30 days. So if you keep that in mind (and please check this yourself too), I don't think there's really much more that could go wrong.

The most important thing though: Don't send the payment as a gift. If you send it as a gift, you can't dispute it with Paypal. They are the seller, they should pay the Paypal fee.

  4. I have watched about 10 episodes of this series, and omfg I just can't stand Jess. She's so freaking annoying, always whining and crying and being just a complete wuss. Does she get any less annoying when the show develops?

  5. 9 Quality Time

    7 Acts of Service

    7 Physical Touch

    7 Words of Affirmation

    0 Receiving Gifts

Yeah, I don't really need any gifts... XD I love spending time with my fiancé, even if it's just something completely normal - like cooking or folding the laundry together. I also love hugging and kissing, and of course it's nice to hear him say how much he appreciates me. Also as we live together, it's nice when he does a task for me, like does the dishes while I clean something else. There's no better way to show your love than do the dishes :D

  6. haha so fast, you are great ZESS.

If ya want I also can help out with tagging. Just give me some fancy mod power and I will help out. :P well if help is needed/ appreciated.

Just start reporting the shit out of those threads, that will make it a lot easier for us! :D I've been tagging tons of news threads today, so why not continue with tagging the lossless section!

  7. I'm not gonna say anything about the demo tag, since I never upload or download tapes.

But I think that tags for the video section would be great, but then we have a slight problem: how to tag eg. extra DVDs that usually come with the single's limited edition, as they might have both live material and a PV?

  8. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/01/rent-cap-legislation-in-force-berlin-germany?CMP=fb_gu

Berlin has become the first city in Germany in which rent-control legislation has come into force in a bid to put the brakes on some of the fastest rising rents in Europe.

From Monday, landlords in the capital will be barred from increasing rents by more than 10% above the local average. Such controls were already in place for existing tenants but have now been extended to new contracts.

“The rent ceiling is very important for Berlin because the difference between the rent paid in existing contracts and new contracts is so high,” said Reiner Wild, managing director of the Berlin Tenants’ Association. “The other problem is that we have 40,000 more inhabitants per year. Because of this situation the housing market is very strong.”

Average rents in the German capital rose from just over €5.50 (£3.60) a square metre in 2005 to close to €9 last year, according to a report by property services company Jones Lang LaSalle. Between 2013 and 2014, rents went up by more than 9%.

And here I am, crying about not having enough money to move to Berlin while living in the capital of Helsinki in an extremely affordable flat with a rent of over 12€ per square meter. Yes, it's student housing.

Apparently the average here in Helsinki is 14€ per square meter, but the smaller the flat, the more the rent is per square meter. How about a 25 square meter flat with a rent of 700€? That's an average of 28€ per square meter, and no, it's not in the center of Helsinki - it's a crappy flat with old interiors about 6-7 kilometers from the center.

What do you think about this article?

    How high is your rent?

  9. I just stumbled upon this article on NPR Music. I can't wait to get home and try this.

Recently, the rapper Jay Z relaunched the subscription streaming music service Tidal, which includes the option to listen to high-definition audio for $19.99 per month. Tidal's HiFi, with its uncompressed audio files, promises a better listening experience than any other streaming service on the market.

Many listeners cannot hear the difference between uncompressed audio files and MP3s, but when it comes to audio quality, the size of the file isn't (ahem) everything. There are plenty of other ingredients to consider, from the quality of your headphones to the size of the room you're sitting in to, well, your own ears.

Can you hear the difference? Take this quiz to find out. One hint: Turn your volume up.

The test is on the same page as the article.

    Songs that were used are

    1. Katy Perry - Dark Horse

    2. Coldplay - Speed of Sound

    3. Jay Z - Tom Ford

    4. Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner

    5. Murray Perahia & the English Chamber Orchestra - Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 17, K. 453 (II. Andante)

    6. Neil Young - There's A World

Any thoughts on this particular "test"?

    Can you hear the difference?

What do you think of the songs that were chosen?
