1. Thank you everyone! :) I've been lurking here a lot and all the people seem so friendly! I feel like I've never been more welcomed anywhere XD

Welcome to the forum, hope you will have a good time here. :)

I looked at your last.fm charts, that's quite a mix you got there. XD

Lol I thought my last.fm charts are pretty basic stuff for a VK listener XD Your comment actually made me laugh so hard! :D

  2. Hi everybody!

I'm a soon 21-year-old girl from Finland who finally had the courage to do an introduction post a month after registering. I currently live in Helsinki and I'm studying chemical engineering in Aalto University.

I've been listening to VK since 2006 with fluctuating interest. Since 2006 there has been a nothing-but-VK phase, a k-pop phase, a nothing-but-Children-of-Bodom phase, but nevertheless I've always loved VK and never stopped listening to it completely.

If I can remember correctly, the first VK songs I ever heard were D'espairsRay - Valentine and Vidoll - Teddy, and the latter soon became my ultimate favorite band for several years.

Now, several years later, I have tried over 600 different VK bands and found a lot of bands I love. (this is easy to check since I never delete the music I download...)

Currently I'm going through a phase when I'm not quite sure if I really love the bands I used to love so much and thus I'm constantly searching for new bands. That's why it's pretty hard for me to name any current favorites but at least I can try.

    Current favorites:
    Lycaon

    Royz

    X Japan

    Children of Bodom

The list isn't very long since I'll really need to listen to my old favorite bands' discographies thoroughly and decide whether I really like them anymore or not.

If you're interested, you can always check my last.fm and see what I've been listening to since 2006! The link is in my signature.

    Thank you for reading!

  3. @Perez Sanotaanko vaikka näin, etten edes tiedä, mikä on japsirokkifoorumi...

And then their previous single EGOIST, released in July 2013:

I'm a fairly new fan of Royz. The first song I've heard was EGOIST in December and I immediately fell in love. Which is kind of embarrassing, since the reason I decided to check them out was all the dirt I had heard about Kuina and Subaru and well, the whole band in general... I personally think their melodies are very catchy and that's one of the main reasons I've started to like them so much.

Even though I really like them, I feel really just... embarrassed liking them so much. Most of the band really seem to be into VK just because of all the gurls and sexing and f4m3 but IMHO they still make good music. I even preordered their newest super Versaillesque single which was released today.

So what do you think about Royz?

Have you listened to them before?

Is Royz the most generic VK band ever or have they actually created something new?

  5. I wanna bring this thread back to life!

They released their newest single gossip back in November 2013 but they haven't still officially released gossip PV. They have showed in a couple of lives but somehow it wasn't included in the single.

Today both Ichiro and Hiyuu tweeted they'll give it away for free in tomorrow's live which is inclusively for the fans who bought all versions of the gossip single.

...and I'm so excited!! Even though I don't even like gossip as a song a new PV is always wonderful. I hope it includes a lot of whipping hehe.

  6. Tbqh I don't like it at all. I've heard this type of song so many times before, I prefer their more "hip hop-like" stuff like Nili mambo, Nanlina and Halo (it's also what I associate Block B with). The MV is just really tacky and way too over the top. You can leave that to GD, guys.

But isn't Very good basically a parody of GD? There are just too many parts in that video which are super similar to stuff GD has done in his music videos. And I'm just digging the idea they made a parody of GD, it's hilarious and the song is fantastic! I like it a lot, when it was released I exclusively listened to only it for a week or so.

  7. 1. Lycaon - マゾヒストレッドサーカス (1:07) ★☆☆☆☆

Weird accordion music with a clown laughing in the background? Lol just terrible.

    2. Lycaon - 覚醒 (4:38) ★★★☆☆

There's some potential in this song. It's one of the hardest songs on the whole album but the dubstep on the background sounds so stupid. Also the melody is pretty plain - Lycaon used to have great melodies in their songs. The chorus is pretty nice. In the end one of the best songs in the album which isn't really much since almost every song sucks in one way or another. The guitar solo is actually pretty nice but it doesn't save the song.

    3. Lycaon - Psychedelic Jelly (3:39) ★★★☆☆

IMHO the 2nd best song in the album. This is clearly a live song and it's probably super fun too. Some screams which is really nice. But why the fuck do they have to add dubstep to this song too? It would be a lot better without. A lot of Engrish doesn't really make this song any better.

    "You won't be my slave...honey"

yuka ni habikoru  Suck my dick

    You won't be my slave...honey

    DORODORO tokeru  Suck my dick

    don't disturbed in high..."

    4. Lycaon - OVER DOSE (3:14) ★★★☆☆

OVER DOSE starts pretty nicely and the dubstep wub-wub's don't even bother me so much in the beginning. But I think the vocals would sound a lot better without all those filters added. A really mediocre song that I can occasionally listen to - it won't give me a headache but I'll never get the urge to listen to this particular song. Probably also a very funny song when seen live, but on CD... blah.

    5. Lycaon - 霊猫香とマゾヒスト (1:42) ★☆☆☆☆

Apparently one or two "intro songs" or SEs isn't enough, there has to be three of them... Three out of ten songs. Super terrible.

    6. Lycaon - gossip (4:22) ★★★☆☆

Probably the worst single Lycaon has ever released. A mediocre song. There's really nothing to say about this song.

    7. Lycaon - 黒のダチュラ (3:29) ★★★★★

The best song on the album. A really captivating song and the whipping sounds make the song even better. This is the one and only song on the album I truly recommend. It doesn't have those annoying dubstep sounds and it's dark - maybe closest to the old Lycaon sound?

    8. Lycaon - TABOO (1:38) ★☆☆☆☆

Another super annoying "intro song." I really hate it.

    9. Lycaon - JI・RE・N・MA (3:56) ★★☆☆☆

The pipes and the snapping in the beginning sounds just stupid. It's hard to believe this is a Lycaon song. The song is quite fast which is nice since I don't like slow songs at all. This isn't completely shit but it isn't good either. I think it's too weird for my taste. The guitar riff is actually pretty nice and the guitar solo too - but they don't sound like Lycaon at all.

    10. Lycaon - 雨音の輪舞曲 (5:02) ★★☆☆☆

The beginning is the most horrendous part of the album. Accordion combined with Yuuki singing something that sounds too much like schlager. Fortunately the song changes a bit harder, but it's still basically the slow song of the album. The chorus is pretty nice so I'll have to give it two stars.

    Summary:

I actually had big hopes for this album. Someone in the last.fm shoutbox claimed this to be the best album of Lycaon and many others were saying they love the album to death.

I don't. Kuro no dachura is actually a nice song but basically every other song is something I would not miss if they suddenly disappeared. I love everything before EROS, but even their erotic era is nicer and has a lot more great songs than their new album. I had really high hopes for this album especially after Bara ~Rose~ was such a fantastic song.

    OVERALL SCORE: ★★☆☆☆

Even though Lycaon is my favorite band I just can't give this album more stars. It isn't a total fail but it isn't a success either. I have not lost all hope in Lycaon and I do hope the next single will be better. They have managed to release fantastic songs even without Mio and Eve, so why they couldn't do it again.

  8. Lycaon's guitarist Satoshi is a motherfucking super hardcore fan of Slash.

First there's a picture of Satoshi and Slash:

    30blnk5.jpg

They both love and use exlusively Gibson's Les Paul guitars...

    zk3392.jpg302oyfn.jpg

Slash also loves Jack Daniels, but the question is: how much does Satoshi love Jack Daniels?

    2j4bswh.jpg2ztkirp.jpg

Answer: He love's it to the point when he wears it, drinks it and even has a Jack Daniels phone case!

  9. A band never need to pay things oout of their own pockets.

Hotel, breakfast and dinner always get paid. all extra stuff of course they pay themselfs.

And don't worry they will make good money this tour by selling merchendise so don't worry about that they would need to buy something out of their own pockets.

The whole tour is paid by RAMEN EVENTS so if a tour goes bad it's them who lose money. not the band.

But why RAMEN EVENTS has put the price of the tickets so low then? I think 20€ would've been a reasonable price. It seems to be even 12€ in some countries.

I'm pretty sure ADAMS won't be able to fill even one venue on the tour (or at least the venue in Finland), so hopefully RAMEN EVENTS will make some profit out of this tour.

  10. I'm really impressed by their tour, could this probably be the vastest European tour a band has ever done? I'm definitely attending the concert in Helsinki, I even purchased the ticket already.

And the price was incredible: 14,50€. FOURTEEN EUROS AND FIFTY CENTS. Like man, that's really insane. I would've paid maybe 25€ with a happy face. It's great they aren't clearly trying to rip off with their ticket pricing, but I think I'm gonna buy some merchandise to support the artist. But they are a fairly new band so I think the price is ok.

I'm just hoping they will get some money out of this tour and not have to buy something out of their own pockets :(

  11. @Messenger84, sorry no, I have a bad memory but I can tell they started with KEY, and played at least RD in coke, Sandy, INGRAM, Clockwise, Winners and losers (?), and they ended the concert with Jennifer.

Did anyone else attend the shows in Europe? I attended the show in Helsinki and I had to admit I had a super great time. I decided a week before the gig I'll be attending and had only a couple of days to truly listen to their music which is a shame, would have been so much funnier if I recognized more their songs. The venue wasn't even half full but the atmosphere was amazing and the vibe the band gave me was super thrilling. They played greatly together and I was head-banging my ass off the whole time though I was super sick at that time, but I just couldn't stay still and nod my head.

And it was a great surprise that they had an autograph session after the show, I had no idea before the show ended and everybody was forming a line in front of the stage... I also bought their new collection album with an atrocious price of 30€, but I was so enthusiastic after the gig and wanted to get an autograph onto something useful (I don't consider posters useful since I really can't hang them anywhere since my bf would probably badly disapprove...).

And know I have an insane crush on Ryohei. You bastard with all that flirting and stuff.

  12. The one clean singer I consider to be the best is Jui from Vidoll. He does too make those crazyass weird (and awesome) growling sounds but he truly has an amazing clean voice. When I was a die-hard Vidoll fan I remember reading somewhere that he has had classical training in singing. He has an amazingly powerful voice and I like his vibrato a lot. He sounds awesome on CDs but also sings fantastically live. Not that I've ever seen them live but the live videos have made a huge impact on me.

My personal live favorite is 十年後の今日此処で (Juunen go no kyou koko de). I think there even isn't a studio version of the song and I've no idea who has composed it or if it's even an original Vidoll song. I just love that live and Jui's singing in it. Pure awesomeness.
And of course then there's Kimi wo nosete... But well, I won't link it here. But his falsetto does sound great even though Kimi wo nosete makes me giggle a bit.

If you don't have time to listen to the whole song, the chorus starts at 2:00. It gives me goosebumps everytime though I've listened to that song countless times.

  13. One of my favorite cover songs is Lycaon's メンタル≠ヘルプ (Mental≠help) made originally by R-Shitei. R-Shitei also covered Lycaon's The 「1st」degree genocide holic and it's great too but since I'm a huge fan of Lycaon I prefer Lycaon's cover.

Link to Mental≠help by both bands (lol I couldn't make this spoiler+embedded thingy work though the later link works just fine...)

And who could forget CRUSH!3-90's V-Rock best hit cover LOVE songs-:

    1. Ayabie - ESCAPE (MOONCHILD)
    2. ALSDEAD - Illusion City (SEX MACHINEGUNS)

    3. Inugami Circus-dan - Rusty nail (X JAPAN)

    4. Uchuu Sentai NOIZ - Kiss me (Himuro Kyousuke)

    5. Kameleo - Zurii onna (Sharam Q)

    6. Kaya - yurenagara... (Laputa)

    7. CRASH 49 - kanojo no Modern... (GLAY)

    8. SARSHI - VENUS (Chisato)

    9. Scarlett - HURRY GO ROUND (hide with Spread Beaver)
    10. DIV - White breath (T.M.Revolution)

    11. defspiral - ROSIER (LUNA SEA)

    12. Makoto - Eternal Flame (SOPHIA)

    13. MEJIBRAY - Cage (Dir en grey)

    14. Lin - Insomnia (ROUAGE)

I'm not too familiar with most of the original songs. Inugami Circus-dan's Rusty nail is a one very interesting piece but my personal favorite is MEJIBRAY's Cage. The original DEG song is one of my favorite songs and MEJIBRAY made a great cover with their own style and sound while keeping up with the atmosphere of the original song.

Earlier someone mentioned Matenrou Opera's Kurenai (X JAPAN original) and I'm so in love with that cover. The original song is amazing but the way they covered it with their own sound and style is truly amazing, 100 times better than Mejigay's Cage. That kurenai cover really gives me goosebumps. It's so amazing I have no words for it.

  14. There's also a listing of Japanese venues made by Tumblr user Fuck yeah Tanuki. All credits belong to the writer, just thought also this listing could be useful!

Well the lists are (generally) arranged by venue size - here’s the first one I found, although I think this person is confused about the size of small venues. Although everyone thinks CYBER is such a shithole that maybe it deserves to be number 1. And AREA kind of has a reputation of letting people play onemans there even if they can’t come remotely close to filling it.

Anyway, I listed capacities for you (just got them off a website, so sorry if they aren’t 100% accurate). To be considered for most of the “famous” guy threads, dudes need to be at least a 7. Some threads say they need to be able to play a oneman at these venues - some say events are enough.

    ☆1 Ikebukuro CYBER (300)

    ☆2 Takadanobaba Area (450), Shibuya o-crest (200)

    ☆3 Shibuya O-nest (250)

    ☆4 Shibuya BOXX (320)

    ☆5 Harajuku Astro Hall (400)

    ☆6 Shinjuku LOFT (550), Daikanyama UNIT (600), Shibuya O-west (600)

    ☆7 Shibuya QUATTRO (800)

    ☆8 LIQUIDROOM Ebisu (1000)

    ☆9 Shibuya O-East (1300), Kawasaki Club CITTA’ (1300)

    ☆10 Shibuya AX (1500), Akasaka BLITZ (1400)

☆11 Shibuya Public Hall (2300), Shinkiba Studio Coast (2400), ZEPP TOKYO (2700), Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall (2600)

    ☆12 NHK Hall (3600), International Forum (5000)

    ☆13 Nippon Budokan (14000) Arenas

Of course, you also have to keep in mind that there are bands like…VAMPS, for instance, who only play ZEPP, but obviously girls think they’re really fucking famous. XD only playing ZEPP is obviously a personal preference for them, as they can sell out like 10 days there.

  15. My dearest and most beloved purchase is without doubt X Japan - Art of life, published 1993 and it has the black photobook as well as the original plastic "slip on" case (though it's super damaged but I don't dare to throw it away XD)

The CD+photobook is being sold in Yahoo with low prices but the emotional value of the CD can't be measured in money. It's my ultimate favorite song ever and I've spent way too much time listening to it, at least according to last.fm.

  16. The worst album I've ever purchased was Vidoll - Esoteric romance. It cost me shitloads of money and there's only one song I like, Cryptic Tokyo. I used to be a die hard Vidoll fan and that was the first CD I bought right when it was released and listened to it for the first time in CD. I've never been that disappointed, I didn't like the singles but still I somehow thought that the album could still be good. I was so wrong.

IMHO Vidoll turned to complete shit after majoring and everything they released after that is nothing compared to their indie stuff. But well, like that hasn't happened before to any other bands...

  17. @niwlun: Wow, I've actually never ever ever heard even the name of a single one of those bands. Thought I'd find even something familiar in this topic...

    1. 쥬얼리 - Maybe

    2. クララ零式 - 無理心中-焼身-

    3. Dir en grey - R TO THE CORE

    4. X Japan - Art of life

    5. ALSDEAD - 404

    6. Capsule - Player

    7. Vidoll - 舞夢 ~マイム~

    8. MEJIBRAY - Crazed Brain

    9. Anjyu' - Suicide gemini

    10. Slipknot - Left behind (Alternate Version)

Most of the stuff I don't even listen to... Let's just say I never delete music even if I didn't like it. That's why I have over 21 days worth of music in my hard drive...
I just had to choose Art of life since it's maybe my super-hardcore-ultimate favorite song ever.

And yay for me, I had totally forgotten about クララ零式 before this 10 song shuffle!

  18. Royz

I have seriously no idea why I haven't listened to them before. I've known the name for a while and actually listened to them first time after reading some nasty stuff about Subaru and Kuina, and I was mainly expecting to hate their music and give me more reasons to hate them etc. But then I somehow ended up falling in love with their music... Their music is like a drug to me, the choruses are SUPER MOTHERFUCKING CATCHY and some of the guitar riffs are just sick. And I really like Subaru's voice, I like that type of vocals.

    EAT YOU ALIVE
I started listening to them mainly because of their European tour. Clockwise was my favourite song and I fell in love with it madly. It was sad that I didn't have that much time to listen to them before the concert but the concert sure was a hell lot of fun. The members were so active on the stage and their personal vibes were so inspiring. I ended up head-banging the whole set even though I was super sick and coughing all the time so much my lungs were hurting continuously. I had to take my asthma meds like three times during the concert, I was so all over the place. (Don't worry, it was nothing contagious, so I wasn't there like trying to make all the other fans sick :D Just my asthma getting worse.)

    MEJIBRAY
Yes, I've had my fair share with the Mejigay fandom but still I ended up falling madly in love with their two songs, a b-side from their newest single Shuuei (???) which is called Shitto (lulz for the name) and die Kusse. Yes, I fell in love with the oh-so-obvious Filth in the beauty cover. I've been blasting those two songs so much it makes my brain hurt.
And it's not that I don't like other songs, I'm sure I'll end up liking them too, I just haven't had time to truly listen to them. Actually one of my favorite "pieces" from them is their live show MEJIBRAY - Sliver Crossing @ Takadanobaba AREA 16/12/11. Meto looks super retarded, Koichi looks ridiculous, MiA has some awesome guitar skills but that Apple screen on the background kinda ruins it, Tsuzuku looks super-retarded when he's moving his head from side to side in Sabato, but still there's just something about that live. Maybe it's MiA's guitar skills combined with that super-motherfucking-awesome jacket of Tsuzuku that makes me like that live show, I have seriously no idea.

    ADAMS

I think ADAMS is one of those "made for fangirls" bands with all the... krhm... erotic music videos etc. Not that I'm not enjoying them, I actually do.... But it's just the fanbase I'm worried about. They aren't musically that amazing, sure Shota is an amazing guitarist and the songs are very catchy, but I can't help feeling like a drooling 14-year-old fangirl when I'm watching their music videos. I somehow feel embarrassed for liking them... But still, they're so cute!! And they produce quite powerful songs, I really can't watch Seseragi without crying. I've tried multiple times but always failed miserably. I just can not hold my tears while watching that PV.

    Crazy★shampoo

Madly in love with "The place in which I am now." There's really nothing more to add, have been blasting that song since I first heard it in 2013.

  19. I really love singing along to my favorite songs, at least the chorus has to be something I can sing along (brutal/harsh/hard songs excluded). My voice isn't great, I think it's even below mediocre, but I enjoy singing a lot when there's nobody listening. I can hit the correct notes (at least I think I do...) but I'm terrible at singing without a song playing in the background.

One of my favorites is Lycaon also but at the moment I'm addicted to Royz songs. Those choruses are so amazingly catchy there's NO WAY you won't be singing them along. Right now I'm listening to Alkaloid and it tears me apart inside that it's almost 2 AM and I can't sing it since my bf is sleeping in the next room.

But I'd say EGOIST by Royz (video with lyrics) is my favorite. I learnt the lyrics in one day when I first heard that song since I was constantly singing it. Also one huge favorite is Royz's Innocence, and I actually took it as a personal compliment when a friend of mine who's only into Gazette (he's not a huge fan, most of the time he listens to mainstream stuff) actually froze for a while when the chorus came. He said something like "wow, that's a catchy chorus" etc. It's really heart-warming when someone not into VK compliments a song I like even though I've done nothing to compose the song etc.

It's. Just. Impossible. Not. To. Sing. Along. IMPOSSIBRUUUU.
