Pretty much this, and even earlier than that. This goes for any media type. Back in the early 00's, P2P file sharing/online pirating sites were free from the laws that had yet to destroy, or corrupt it. I remember finding music at the drop of a hat, and although they were low quality, they were at least there. There was minimal fear of viruses, but they were still there. They just weren't as potent as today. I feel most of us from those times learned how the internet worked, and discovered the scene at some point from our exposure to Anime or Video Games. Good luck finding anything without some sort of malware, viruses, or even a root kit on the web. People just wont take the risk like before, on top of when the laws here in the USA in particular find ways to make sure you get fined. If you run a Google trends for Anime, you may see a similar decline. It all boils down to lack of resources and marketing/exposure. In fact, Japan's influence in general is slowly declining here in the USA, but I wont go into details there. Truly, the enthusiasts are the ones keeping the scene alive. How long? Idk. Also, as @Zeus had mentioned, people who really weren't interested in the scene, will just give up entirely if the source is cut off. (Which is funny because I didn't hear about TW, Batsu, or MH back then)

Goddamn it. Why the fuck would he do that? I don't even know what to fucking say, honestly. We all knew this was gonna happen. It's impressive that the band made a rational decision quickly, because shying away from their fan-base for this long was only making the rumors worse and worse. Shit, we all know these guys are like family to each other. It's what I admire the most about them, in fact. I'm sure it must have been a tough decision for them, and being a depressing time for them, this hiatus must happen. *sigh* The rules in a society like Japan are what make it so great and appealing to strangers, yet intimidating to those who live in it and see it for what it really is. I'm hoping they don't call it quits, as I never believe a statement until after the dilemma has passed. I know we've seen what happens to a close-knit group like them, and if they just aren't feeling it, I'm sure we'll hear from them again very soon. Fucking A dude.

Pro tip: Go do ALL the Chocobo missions. Once that is done, there will be a food item that gives you 50% more EXP. Go farm until you get some good numbers (I usually go up to 75-150k). Then, go all the way down to the Galadin Quay hotel, and stay the night (you get x2 EXP). Hopefully you preordered from Amazon (Half price everything in game DLC). It costs 10,000 Gil (but 5k with that perk).

The addition of a violin and new vocalist really changed how charismatic DECAYS' band is.
I haven't enjoyed an album like this since DIV's ZERO ONE.

I'm really envious of little children. I really am. Struggled like shit in FFXV to get to level 48-50 on my characters, and I've been playing little by little since day one. My nephew has been playing for 5 days, and he's level 70. At least I have my Ultima Blade and he doesn't BTW, I officially love this battle system.

my experience with this is the opposite. i didn't like the storage to price ratio on ssds so i bought a silicon power a80 2tb for $80. the continued price drops are a joke, $230 for 960gb is insane. to top it off my a80 came formatted to fat32 and is faster than any of my hdds, flash drives or sd cards. I haven't reformatted it since i use it to watch videos that aren't on my ps3 and it still copies files at 70-90 mb/s without reformatting. and is case you think it's my computer no it's the 2nd cheapest hp laptop and it's shit.
i feel that the article exists as a scare tactic to get people to buy more lower storage capacities so companies can have a reason to charge more. I've been waiting on the 2tb micro sd for almost 10 years there's absolutely no reason to be paying $80 for less than 1tb especially when it's flash.
i also feel that if some one thinks 960gb is enough they probably don't need it. the only electronic device i have that has less than 1tb is my ipod classic, even mine and my girls ps3 have at least 1tb (mine has 1.5
). I literally have 10tb of storage so until ssds drop to $80 for a tb i'm not touching an ssd

You're right, as the "crying wolf short shortage of material" shpeel that happens every year with HDD/SSD tech is a bait process to buy more.
I remember the same ploy sometime around late 2010, with that natural disaster in Asia, and consumers said the same thing. Yet, they were shafted bad for the following year with purposely hiked up prices that I have yet too see recover.
Except that was 2010, and smartphones and mobile devices were in their infancy stage.
Now that pretty much every device on the market runs off of the same components, and materials used are sourced from the same location, supply<demand will be pretty bad.
The cheap storage stuff on sale right now are last gen's tech (as if that is not obvious), and Samsung pretty much fucked the balance up with their smartphone disaster, and now with their NAND compatibility issues.
This M.2 SSD is fast as all hell.
I really wanted to get my hands on the new 960 Pro, but eh, 950 will do.
Running my OS off of it, and I like having 5-6 sec boot times lol.

haha I remember when I was at about the end of FFXII, and I had completed about 95% of endgame activities, did I come back to the final part of the story and think "What the fuck am I supposed to do again?" Making the completion of the main story your main priority is nothing bad. It's a very smart move for someone who does not know how much time they will invest in-game. I personally enjoyed the ATB/ADB/CSB battle systems in FFIX/XII/III, and this insane AXB battle system is something I'd like to take plenty of time to master, via Hunts/Leveling up. It could be my fault for going about 8 years without playing a current FF game (I contemplated playing XIV), so the rust is real strong on my skills/attention to techniques. I'm liking the delivery so far, yet the lack of elemental magics besides Fire, Ice, and Lightning, are kind of a drag. I had a feeling they were going to phase these out, when I saw the lack of a lot of magics in FFXIII. Oh well I guess. I'm not a completionist lol, but I do buy the guidebooks (technically my brother has it already) to see what more a game has to offer after the main story. My FFXII guidebook was used so much, that the hardcover came apart, and I had to buy a 2in binder, and place each page in a plastic sheet to preserve it lol. Ok. Maybe I was a completionist haha.

I really hope your friend is not one of those "beat the game quick asf" and later complain that it was not good. I hope your friend is a long time FF fan, and will go and do the side-quests after the main story.
