It has come to my attention that I have nothing left to share with this board. While most people leave quietly unless they aim to make their departure a publicity stunt, I feel that saying goodbye to a forum where I've more or less spent every day for the past 10 years is the least I could do.
 
I've made a lot of good friends here, had fun as a mod for like 15 minutes, and loved being an official reviewer. In spite of all of that, I cannot help but feel it is time I move on.

The guys were so cool despite the fact of being the only male Westener probably in quite a long long time. Exchanged some laughs and comments after the show given. I have personally been playing punk and metal for over 10 years, and I can honestly say that awake's presentation was full of adrenaline, had a blast.

Mask and Nana re-burial onemans aren't Kote-Osa anymore since they're not dressed the part(Same with with Ayabie or whatever the hell they want to call themselves).
 
Ziggrat at the top of my head is the only Kote-Osa band around and no one gives a fuck about that band besides me.
JACK+MW just disbanded and they were Kote-Osa and AMONOVA(sp?) and they only just disbanded last month; Matilda had "いただきます。",  which was a Kote-Osa song (obvs 愛狂います。rip-off), and they had the look. Then they went with the current Uniqlo/H&M while visual look. Paradeis was the last big Kote-Osa band, and it's been 9 years?
 
So my guessing since reviving Kote Kei was a thing for a while, the next wave of Kote-Osa bands are gonna come by and we'll get those poppy kote kei songs again.

MFW Jaki's solo stuff sounds exactly like blackpig and I love blackpig and starwave made it sound exactly how blackpig sounded on record. Now I just want him to record another Ska song like Darlin' and my life will be complete.

Osare has been dead for over ten years >.> It's Kirakira. Osare-->Neo Visual-->Kirakira. I just want to Clarify that. The only remnants of Osare is Kote-Osa kei bands that are popular(or kinda still).

If I recall correctly(This is 12 years ago and I'm in my 30s so my memory is blotchy) they did have full PVs because a friend of mine sent them to me when they first came out. I think it died with my hard drive when I dropped it(but I can ask my other friend if he has them, since we were in the same circle and we shared shit all the time.)

I literally was shocked then I realized it's still April Fool's Day. I was not ready, now it's just a disappointment, but hey, 8P-SB still bops so haters can exit stage left.

I would have chosen Balloon, Smile, or Tyrannosaurus. Those were the best bops on the album to make a MV to.  

Reminds me of when Jimmy was in LAVERITE, except more polished. Gunnar looks like he signed up for a power metal band, but he got this gig, and was like fuck it, it's a job.

Kote is used by Japanese bands and bandgirls. When Panic Channel started out, MEGURU would point out the different sides of the band by calling the dark side kote and the pop side C-H. What you think is kote and what they think is kote is probably different. Yeah that was from a Visual Kei styling vid.
 

 
Koteosa is basically all those bands back then that are labelled wrong by the foreign fans. i.e; J∀CK11, Я苺-アールベリー, Early Ayabie, e.t.c. Look at their costumes vs the costumes of bands which are considered Osa like; ラブCAN, ヒメユリ, Shelly Trip Realize, e.t.c.
 
And if you let's say, Listen to a J∀CK11 song then go listen to ラブCAN song. You can really tell that J∀CK11 isn't as poppy as you think they look. The koteosa bands are heavier than the osa bands, but they sure aren't gonna be heavier than the kote bands.
 
I've never seen any other term for a visual band besides Kote, kotekote, Koteosa, Osa, Soft, Nagoya.

I bought it yesterday on iTunes and starry night shouldn't have been changed. Everything else was great! loved future past. Gonna buy the physical copy when I get paid Friday.

Same. I thought every Nu Metal band sounded like Limp Bizkit. 
 
I didn’t start liking Nu Metal till I listened to Stacked Rubbish now it’s one of my favourite genres 

I just dislike the general I don't like X music, because Y music is superior and you just don't understand because you're a pleb. Or the constant bashing on pop music in any kind by "Rock/Metal" fans. If people opened up their mind to other music whole heartedly, they'd find more enjoyment than just listening to a genre a music. Constantly listening to only a certain genre after a while grates my nerves. Hell, I didnt think I'd like Nu-Metal, and then I found my current favorite band, and their sound in the beginning was Nu-Metal oriented(they since ventured off into different directions), and if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have open the possibility of trying more bands affiliated with that genre or gave them a chance. 

Open-mindedness comes with exposure, and it's necessary to know what you're looking for, musically, to grow those sensibilities. Music is interpreted differently from person-to-person. Melody, texture, rhythm, lyricism, etc. or any combination of the musical elements contribute to one's enjoyment, and they all exist on a really wide spectrum. Upbringing and culture + How your enjoyment could stem from different memories, places, etc.  There are so many variables to consider, but those same qualities I've mentioned could be extrapolated to other aspects of life. "Music is not so different to life", as Herbie Hancock puts it. The same problem you have with people lacking open-mindedness is not asimilar to categorizing or compartmentalizing those who aren't open-minded. Binary thinking runs rampant on the internet and irl, but if you approach topics gingerly you'd be surprised how many people want to listen. Just don't try to push it with those unwilling. For us on a music forum, it might be hard for some to think this way, but music is just like every other artistic medium. My fine art "repertoire" is not very large as paintings don't really retain my interest atm. Someone's interest in music is the same. It could be in its infancy and might grow in the future, or they let it be because that's not what inspires/intrigues them. Many people have music "tunnel vision", and I've gone through it myself. I think the internet which plays the largest role in "The Shrinking World", has been pivotal in increasing open-mindedness regarding diff. cultures and by extension, music.
 
So, I think it'll get better, but for now I just let people like whatever they want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Both parties should be respectful about it, obv. The internet will always have stuck up people b/c it reflects life (w/ some added anonymity.)

I feel like I'm being called out by this thread. Stanning a band is basically you devoting yourself to them(in my case) supporting the fuck out of them because you love their work and what they do. 
 
I basically have a shit ton of Panic Channel chekis, FULL EFFECT' chekis, and DragonWAPPPPPPER. I have every single アー写 Panic Channel has every put out and every releases sans 3 VHS tapes that are like impossible to get. I have アー写 from FULL EFFECT' that hasn't even hit the light of the internet because they're so indie. I bought 6 copies have each of their last two albums. I bought DragonWAPPPPPPER's limited 20 remix CD for almost $300. I have goods like towels, shirts, and hoodies I don't wear because I don't want to lose any of them. I own all their releases including a few live limited goods that are near impossible to find. 
 
That's what I think of stanning. Like if you are basically stalking the band like demachi or irimachi, then you're on another level that's not stanning.
