  1. Update:

little HEARTS. privilege is re-recording CD 「Monochrome -vanished ray- Acoustic Version」 (+ cheki). That one has been purchased and will be shared.

Someone is possibly buying from PureSound (3 track live CD), and will share if so.

fiveStars privilege (new) is a live DVD from last year.

(HMV privilege is a totebag, and live privilege is a photoset.)

So still hoping someone will buy from fiveStars (live DVD), ZEAL LINK (live DVD), or PureSound (live CD).

  2. My main issue with the visual kei scene isn't really represented in the options here, and it's something you generally get more in touch with once you get to Japan and get to experience the scene.

Firstly, the fact that a large majority of visual kei musicians more or less openly admits they don't have any artistic or personal integrity, they don't care what they produce and they don't care that their sound is exactly like every other band out there, because they know that as long as the members are pretty enough there WILL be fans, and they WILL pay you money for "company" and "favors" so that you can survive comfortably and keep rehashing the same song for a couple of years until you feel like calling it quits and do something more worthwhile with your life, or more likely, go into full time hosting business now that you have a decent circle of clients already.

This sort of leads me into my second issue and it's the bangya culture. It's generally really vile, and the way the girls not only talk about the musicians but also each other is quite disgusting. If the bangyas decide that a member has done something they do not approve of, that doesn't live up to their perfect ideals that they hold them all to (because god knows the fangirls don't live up to any of them) they can easily start enough shit to cause a band to break up or force a member out of the band. The issues doesn't end there though, because the few foreign bangya that exists generally adapt to this mentality and lifestyle too. They openly shun other foreigners who dare attend the lives of "their" band and ruin their "specialness", they participate in this completely daft saizen system where a designated person basically decides who gets what spot at a concert so everyone can enjoy playing ten year olds doing the "you're not allowed to play with us"-games... And the obviousness of what really drives people to be fans of these bands become so apparent when they get to this level, and it's certainly not the music.

To be honest, in a lot of ways I never realized how bad this was until I got there and could see it all for myself, and that's despite a 13 year stint in the scene by now.

Ditto! I think a lot of this ties into Japanese culture at large. It's a pretty gross aspect, and one I wish that more foreigners understood before throwing all their emotions into this shit

  3. oh okay i didnt know ,thanks for clearing things up

Do you want me to help you get one of the other versions?

I didn't know about all of these privileges from these shops, dammit!! I will get the CDJ ver. only (already in preorder).

Really curious about the 3-track live CD, I wonder if those tracks will be from their last live..

AIFE. acoustic ver. should be magnificent, damn.

Yeah, it would have been nice if they'd announced the privilegs before allowing preorders! I think you could cancel your CDJ order if you really wanted to, but it's a pain.

  4. Looking for people to coordinate their purchase of LIN memorial box 「the end of corruption world」 and share the privileges with each other.

Basically, if you buy from a specific store below, and share a scan/rip of your privilege with the people participating, we'll share our privileges with you.

¡Also!, for any store that requires shopping service, I'm willing to place the order for you through my shopping service and pay the service fee (tho you'll have to pay for the CD + shipping to your house, obviously).

    Here's the store/privilege list:

    PureSound - 3-track live CD

BrandX - 5-set of comment DVDS + photoset already purchased, will be shared

ZEAL LINK - first secret live DVD

little HEARTS. - re-recording CD (unknown song) already purchased, will be shared

    ● TOWER RECORDS - new song CD 「for Lapis...」 already purchased, will be shared

    ● Like an Edison - re-recording CD 「As If Forever Exists. Acoustic Version」 + cheki already purchased, will be shared

    ---

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, mods~

  5. Why don't Japanese bands tour in america anyway? Is there just a much smaller fandom here than there is in Europe I guess? I know the fandom is pretty huge in south america. Or is it just easier to tour in Europe for whatever reason?

Prob has something to do with how spread out we are?

  6. Hey Trombe, did you understand what this means?

    [2大棚ぼた]①SNSなどで役立つ「ホーリーネーム」贈呈。②「ぬるめの紅茶」贈呈。

I don't know what 大棚ぼた means. For #1, ホーリーネーム has “ライブ” written above, but the sentence still doesn't make sense. #2, I have no idea, unless they will distribute tea at the event somehow???

  7. Always wanted to ask if anybody knows how itunes or google play selling works from musicians side. I mean how much they pay for selling music there, what percentage they give to itunes.

I really doubt selling physical copy is cheaper. You need a lot thing to do like burning cds, printing cover and booklet, the cd itself + case. And they should be stored somewhere and sold in shops.

The only thing I've noticed about Japanese bands on iTunes (etc) is that their pricing is just as strict/shitty as CDs. If a CD averages out to 300 yen per song, digital copies will have each song for exactly 300 yen. And never a discount for buying the entire album―it's the same price as buying each song individually. So I'm sure they make a killing on digital sales.

Maybe someone can add to that?

  8. I only buy 2nd hand from Closet Child. In fact, my most recent purchase (2 kannivalism DVDs, 4 Plastic Tree DVDs) came up to less than 6000 yen!

That's the best strategy (if you don't mind waiting a while to hear a release)

  9. I mean...

An inherent quality of point-of-sale taxes is that they don't affect the cost of the product itself; they only affect what the customer pays.

    For example, Dali's 2008 full album (normal edition) cost 3,150 yen (tax in). For 3150 = x + (x * 0.05), x = 3000 yen. R Shitei's album (normal edition) last month was 3,240 yen (tax in): for 3240 = x + (x * 0.08), x = 3000.

Meaning: the normal price of releases hasn't really increased; only the tax has increased. So the discussion is kind of moot...

If you're paying more for a release before tax, the release probably has special packaging, or includes extra content, or has a trading card, etc, etc.

  10. For anyone else still confused: if you buy the omnibus from Like an Edison, ZEAL LINK, little HEARTS., Brand X, fiveStars, or Jishuban Club, you will receive a bonus CD. The CD contains a re-recording of 暗黒世界ハ闇 by either Grieva, Kuroyuri to Kage, or Gossip. Which CD each person gets is completely random.

(Access to the file you posted is private D: Would you mind making it public again?)
