  1. @Bear Yeah, their style shifts from album to album so it's really interesting to see how they shake things up.

BTW, is the vinyl release for this 2xLP or 1? I was looking on Candlelight's webstore and the details on their site lead me to believe it's 1 LP. But $34.95 before shipping seems kind of ridiculous for 1 LP (not to mention, that's a lot of minutes crammed on each side).

  2. Falling for girls much younger than me. In the last 2 years, I've had really strong connections with girls that are years younger than I am. We have a similar sense of humor, we can talk about serious things, we have similar perspectives on life, and we just like being with each other. But then after a few weeks they realize that they're still finding out who they are and they just can't handle a serious relationship. And I'm at a stage in my life where I'm ready to settle down with someone. I get it. They're going through things like school, making friends, and discovering themselves, and having to think about a love relationship is just too much to handle. I just always wish I would've moved slower because when they tell me they just want to be friends, my heart gets pretty bruised up and it takes me a while to get back to my normal self.

I've made some pretty decent falling-out-of-love playlists though to get me through, so I guess it's not all bad. Thank God for music. Seriously, the thought of being alone with my thoughts in silence terrifies me the most in these moments of heartache. You just feel so alone.

  3. I really hate to put this up for sale, but I have a family emergency and need to raise some money.

The condition is practically like new with the artwork being in crisp NM condition and the CD having no scratches or other impurities. I'd really only like to take serious offers on this via PM. So, if you are seriously considering buying this, please drop me a message and we'll talk.

On a different but related note, I'll be putting up nearly my entire Jrock collection up for sale in the upcoming months. You can expect to see some rare items (not quite this rare) from bands like:

    -born

    -Dir en grey

    -the GazettE (lots of GazettE)

    -Sadie

    -Sukekiyo

    Thanks for looking.

How can you "lose" computer tracks? What does Shinya mean? Can someone explain?

Well, what happens is they leave the computer and hide all around the venue. You have to find them all before midnight though or you'll never get them back. They're sneaky little things and quick too, so I recommend using something like a vacuum cleaner to suck them up or playing trashy rap music to stun them.

Nice artwork! It feels very calm and tranquil. Also, love the pattern and color designs on the resting dog.

Thank you! I'm glad that's the vibe it gives off. That's actually supposed to be my co-worker's dog so I referenced a ton of photos to make the pattern more accurate 😂

Yeah, I think the VULGAR 1st press edition just has a mini DVD containing only a censored version of OBSCURE. That video is available in full on AVERAGE PSYCHO, so it's a bit pointless.

Not sure about any differences between MISSA and six Ugly.

First press for Vulgar does also come with a nice slipcase and a colored booklet with, I think, alternate/additional artwork.

Six Ugly comes in a digipack case with a secret mini lyrics booklet that's hidden inside the cover flap. You have to slit the side open.

Missa, I think there's no difference with the first press East West Japan release.

This is because the album was (presumably) mixed specifically to be played in that kind of context. Reaching a wider audience with a loud record that still sounds okay on a rubbish system.

This kind of mixing philosophy should never exist. The listening experience should not have to be brought down for everyone else just because people like listen to music on mediums where high quality sound isn't available. That's completely backwards.

  7. @Bear - GosT is an amazing showman. He's got an immense stage prescence for one guy. I saw him open for Carpenter Brut earlier this year and I wish the crowd was like the one you were in. People got wild for Carpenter Brut, but Gost can throw on one hell of a performance.

Maniac is always a favorite moment for me when CB play live! Good to hear you had a good time. Was it the first time you were able to see either of them?

  8. Nujabes album metaphorical music is finally being released on a vinyl format. It'll be released on the 3rd of November of this year.

Pre-orders are selling fast so be quick.

  9. Here's a novel idea. What if they just released one version with no bonus anything? 9/10 times I prefer the original studio recording over a crappy remix or a crappy live recording. Their extra content always feels tacked on to justify charging a limited or deluxe edition price, and it never feels worth it. (The Uroboros/DSS deluxe editions are an exception because of how well they packaged a vinyl and CD/DVD set together. Macabre and Gauze also had some classy LE packaging.)

The collector in me just wants the main album and the option to pay for nicer packging. MAYBE a bonus DVD if it doesn't cost too much extra and if the content is interesting/substantial. But honestly, I could do without that too.

Different audio mediums would be a more interesting approach in my opinion. I know the vkei industry's consumer base are not typically also retro audio hobbyists, so releasing something on cassette or vinyl is most likely not of interest to most fans.

    P.S. I wish they'd stop re-recording old songs!

I love your art, especially in the post above. It's really nice.

It reminds me of a refined and improved version of David Beauchard's art, which I really like also.

Wow, that's quite the compliment! Thank you!

I'm trying to grab the Crystal ver., but I really want one of the cassettes going w/ the drops (hopefully.) Crystal Vinyl drops in a bit over an hour.

*Well, tried getting the crystal ver. and it only took one paypal verification code delay for it to go out of stock (whilst paying.) Nabbed the cassette tho ;_;.

Yeah, I saw that. I was all over the drops. Sorry you weren't able to nab a clear : ( It sold out literally in 2-3 minutes. I actually went for both so woke up at 6 this morning for the black. Thankfully there were more copies (500) so it didn't sell out nearly as fast.

Really? I think it sounds way better than on 'Utafumi' and 'Nigen...'. Of course it's no (lets say...) 'Ænima'-quality drum tone, but I think it sounds way better than on 'Ningen...'. The toms re now bearable and controlled, the bass drum has more body and less click and the snare sounds more 'inside the mix' than before. It's a vast improvement for me

I definitely agree with you there. It's better here than on the singles, but it still bothers me on this song. The toms do sound so much better, but they're a bit too prominent in quieter parts and I wish I could hear the guitars more.

Here's hoping for a... but if it is b, then I'll be punching my speakers too!!!

Yeah, let's hope for a. But, just in case, I'm ready

  13. The mix on the drums is making me want to thrust my fist into my speakers. It's the same obnoxiously wooden thacking from the previous two singles and I'm concerned that mixing will be the downfall of this album.

Song wise, I'm actually really digging this. I think it hits a nice balance of commercially catchy and compositionally complex. That piano break with the string synths in the middle also gives me major Rentrer en Soi vibes.
