carddass got a reaction from suji in YOSHIKI to score soundtrack and theme song for "xXx 4" movie (and series)
Sadly, I think his 25+ years of trawling / living in Hollywood has warped his career.
It's been all about these shitty B- and C- productions for years now. I mean despite some basic conversations between Toshi and Yoshiki, a horror movie, Saw IV, tangentially gave them the reason to come back for good.
Surely for every one of these project we see him work on, there's been 20 times as many parties, events, and meetings that he attended to hob-knob with various producers and socialites in the Los Angeles scene.
He has long enjoyed doing this than actually spending time alone composing and refining music with X Japan. A quick Getty Image search will show you exactly what he's doing despite the occasional "I've been working 24 hours straight" Instagram post to troll the fans into telling him "Take care of yourself Yoshiki-sama!"
https://www.gettyimages.com/photos/yoshiki?groupbyevent=true&family=editorial&phrase=yoshiki&sort=best#license
Hence we will have the XXX4 soundtrack before the new album ever materializes.

carddass got a reaction from Sayan in L'Arc~en~Ciel is back
touché, this was definitely more on-topic.
But seriously, I've been a long time fan since Blurry Eyes appeared in front of DNA and I didn't realize I had to speak only positively about them! Okay, here goes, Tierra is a desert island disc for me - I hope they play White Feathers at the concert!
What I do find fascinating and sorely lacking on forums is really in-depth conversation that goes beyond one-liner comments. The motivations of the band and the individual members are more interesting (whether good or bad) to me now and a simple "L'arc is back!" thread would leave some casual or uninformed fans the impression they are returning. I believed that at first until I read it was just concerts. I simple explained how they might not be back in the way L'arc fans really are hoping for.

carddass got a reaction from Kiyoharu is God in KIYOHARU announces new cover album & plans for autobiography
I've actually been quite a fan of his covers over the years and discovered some jpop gems I would have otherwise never have known about. This album could be interesting if he goes for older classics rather than something recent.
His cover of Inoue Yosui's Senaka made 45fun on the Emily EP is syrupy goodness that was a complete 180° turn to hear compared to what he was just doing months earlier when SADS paused the first time around.

carddass reacted to Kiyoharu is God in KIYOHARU announces new cover album & plans for autobiography
Announced earlier in the week. Title and release date will be announced later. The plan is for a summer release. Apparently, more details will be revealed on 2/9 as he's planning to open a memorial site to celebrate his 25th anniversary on that day. There will be a cover of BOUKYAKU NO SORA inlcuded, but it sounds like that's the only track he's covering from his own (solo/kuroyume/sads) catalogue. He's moved from TRIAD to PONY CANYON. He's also planning to release an autobiography.

carddass got a reaction from Kiyoharu is God in MORRIE announces 5th solo album 光る曠野 (HIKARU KOUYA)
Although it hasn't been confirmed the album title seems to have changed to the name of his upcoming 2019 tour.
光る曠野 - Hikaru kōya - Shining Wilderness
Most likely that the album would be released for sale during that tour.

carddass reacted to Jigsaw9 in MUNIMUNI new mini album "月光男の日記 / A Diary of Mr.Moonlight" release
Won't make a separate thread for it, but a new DVD-R "dieS vs MUNIMUNI [2016/11/11 NEO TOKYO CHOP DOME]" has just been released on 2018/12/13. It contains footage from the two bands' special anniversary two-man gig back at the end of 2016.
Tracklist:
01. フッフー
02. 発情
03. POWER
04. NEW ORDER LOVE SONG
05. Matador-マタドール-
06. SOUND MASTURBATION
07. & 4
08. バーサーカー
09. ドラムバトル
10. in my head
11. in my head
Tracks 1, 3, 4, 7 are MUNIMUNI songs, tracks 2, 5, 6, 8, 10/11 are dieS songs. Track 9 is called "drum battle" so I assume it's some kind of 'drum-off' between the two bands' drummers, since apparently the stages where the gigs took place were facing each other. I guess the last song being repeated might be some sort of jam session with both bands on-stage, but not sure.

A buying/shopping service should have no problem obtaining if the only catch is that it is mail order in Japan only.
As Jigsaw says, at least it's being released instead of just being seen by a few hundred or thousand people at the concert.
The question is - will they try to keep the setlist in its entirety or will it be some sort of a chopped up digest version of it leaving you wanting more?

carddass got a reaction from Jigsaw9 in Gilles de Rais 2 new live DVD "Remembrance Vol.1" and "Remembrance Vol.2" release
Wow, I wish other bands from those days release more shows like this. L'arc, Luna Sea, Kuroyume, Zi:Kill!
I'm sure the bands / management have plenty considering the bootlegs that exist but they're probably stranded forever in a sea of licensing issues
