Igyou_Hime reacted to Elagabalus in Jrock vets teach me your ways
I prefer deep songs
Sometimes about fantasy but still close to emotions
Honestly as long as its lyrics are touching I don't mind if its rap, folk, or alternative

Igyou_Hime got a reaction from Miku70 in Jrock vets teach me your ways
As mentioned above, it depends on what kind of music you like. When my friend first introduced me to VK about 14 years ago, she was into bands like Alice Nine and Antique Cafe but they aren't my cup of tea as I've always had a thing for darker aesthetics. I then by chance stumbled across Velvet Eden and have been in love with them ever since (before the reunion...) . But I'm aware their music is not for everyone and I've come to like many different bands with time though so I think it's about finding the right songs.
Most recomended
Velvet Eden - Sad Mask , Schwarz Stein - Release Me, Malice Mizer - Syunikiss, BUCK-TICK - Kain, Közi - Memento

Igyou_Hime got a reaction from Elagabalus in The Japanese Language Learning / Support Thread!
I want to recomend the app (or their webpage for that matter) weblio. You can look up example sentences both in english and japanese! I find it very convenient as it is not always possible to translate word by word but rather look at what the whole sentence want to convey.

Igyou_Hime reacted to JukaForever in Jrock vets teach me your ways
I think it kind of depends on where the person is coming from.
Metal Crowd: Versailles, Jupiter, Matenrou Opera, X (First 2 albums only)
Pop or those that just want to see Kawaii J-Rockers: They might like Oshare Kei bands, ViVid, vNue, DaizyStripper
Regular rock fans: Gazette, Mejibray, Phantasmagoria, Dezert, Miyavi
Somebody else can chime in with more emo bands, I only ever followed Sadie
We have tons of chug-chug bands. We got some indie sounding bands too.

Igyou_Hime reacted to LIDL in SADIY&KÖZIY (Sadie Pink Galaxy + Közi new project) single release
Mine arrived for few days now. I love the retro summer mood in it. Takao was writing me back that EMS is not doing delivery to my country because of covid-19. So we figured out another shipping company. And it was by this service called Kuroneko, which turns out to be affiliated with UPS, since it was delivered by UPS guy to my doorstep. So hope you'll get yours soon, Igyou!
Also, Sadie retweeeted my tweet

If it's any consolation, I ordered mine with EMS but the tracking site did not update at all, after the first two days (still showing it's in Japan) ...and then a week later, without any further tracking update the package magically arrived to my doorstep. So fingers crossed for you~

Igyou_Hime got a reaction from sakuran in Insanity Injection Chanteuse CHAOS was Fired
You've got a point, yes, BUT since they said fans informed the band it makes me wonder if it's acctually some minor problem, that the fangirls just got upset over and decided to make it way bigger than it really is (and due to the culture the band might then have felt the best thing to do is to get rid of Chaos since maybe a lot of fans would stop following them otherwise). I mean these kinds of bands are very dependent on their fanbase in Japan... And concidering the thing with Femme Fatale where one of the members got togheter with someone (was it a fan and he was married or some shit like that?), I wouldn't be suprised if this also was some weird shit like that. There's a limit on how much fans can interfere with bands private life and I think in Japan that line is a lot more blurry since they have the culture of always having to keep your face, and the idea of bands etc to always seem available (which is kind of fucked up IMO). I couldn't care less if my favorite bands memeber's cheated or got drunk, it's non of my business as long as they still do a good job when acctually working.

Igyou_Hime got a reaction from SakuraFujio in What did you dream about last night?
My dream felt a bit obvious XD I have a phobia for worms and other creatures like them (and with phobia I don't mean that I just scream when I see one, I seriously freeze up, going out when it's raining, unless if it's in city enviroment, can be a real challenge), and I dreamt that on our kitchen sink there was a kind of small worm, that split in 2 and became two, and the gross part was one of those became really long! Before I woke up I remember feeling paniced because I didn't know if I should leave our kitchen or keep an eye on it so it doesn't hide up XD But I was so grossed out and panicy I woke up.
I don't think this is so hard to analyze, I dream about stuff like this every now and then and it's probably because I hate them so much XD I'd love to read the abve persons dream though XD

Igyou_Hime reacted to Bear in Trombe has disbanded
I'm not gonna be a douchebag about this, and as impressive as your dedication to visual kei and Jrock were, I'm not bothered about this at all. Every single time a bunch of no-bodies have formed a shitty band that never got any further than one gig they've gotten a new thread, and every single time a known Japanese rocker have thought about just having a shit after lunch you've made a thread about it. And to be honest it's just been way too much and too messy for my taste. Which means I've more or less stayed away from the entire news section. Now maybe I'll try check it out for new bands again.
But as I said, your work here has been pretty impressive no matter what I feel about it. Top notch dedication to the scenes at least.
Thanks bye

Igyou_Hime reacted to Pretsy in Japanese artists who speak other languages?
Regarding Leo Imai
So it's certainly given that he knows/speaks English much better than most of us would think (AFAIK Japanese is just "second language" to him, note his interviews). In addition, he knows more than just a bit of Swedish now (considering that he felt regret about not knowing it in his teens, haha).
Why do you guys limit yourselves to English? Let's see:
Anna Murashige (HKT48, ex-NMB48) (Half-Russian, fluent speaker)
Kaori Kawamura (Half-Russian, lived about 1/3 of her life in Soviet Union-era Moscow, native speaker (RIP))
Marius Yo (Sexy Zone) (half-German, fluent speaker (meddles between his home city Heidelberg and Tokyo -thx Johnny's shrines!))
Ray Fujita (Dustz) (Half-French, fluent speaker)
ILMARI (Rip Slyme) (that's his second legit name, Half-Finnish - average skills afaik (Rip Slyme being one of the very first J-music (note: mainstream J-music) acts to visit Helsinki (his former home city) in 2002 was due to his own passion/desires)
Kahimi Karie (fluent in French, semi-fluent in Italian, Spanish)
BoA (Korean but she counts - fluent in Japanese, semi-fluent in Mandarin)
Wew!

Igyou_Hime reacted to inartistic in Starwave Records and...
Here's my only problem with Starwave: I've always found its bands boring. For myself only, they've always lacked the je ne sais quoi that makes a band special.
But there are tons of good things about Starwave. The shittiest, most unpopular band will still be guaranteed good costumes, nice photoshoots, several releases, a full album, live DVDs, PV collections, etc. I think that's really great, honestly.
And seriously, Starwave is one of the few labels to treat overseas fans like humans. That's really refreshing, in what's otherwise a pretty xenophobic culture.
As far as KIWAMU? Idk what people accuse him of, but it doesn't really matter imo. This is shitty music for 16 year-olds, so who cares if the dude is mean? My idol is a tax fraudster who sells bootlegs and fakes hospital visits--but he's not running for office, so why should I care?
