  1. For me...

One of my favorite SADS songs from my favorite SADS album. The main riff (and perhaps SADS in general) sounds cliche as hell, but this shit still sounds tough as fuck. Plus Kiyoharu's vocals have always been great, so this one gets a definite pass on the Engrish.

Taka's Engrish is actually....really....REALLY, REALLY bad :tw_joy: But that main guitar riff mixed with the synth, and THAT BEAT!!? CATCHY AS FUCK! You can't tell me this shit don't jam!!!! :tw_joy::tw_joy::tw_joy:

Yall don't know nothin 'bout MY WAY MY LOVE, but these guys always had some weird, off-kilter shit going on that, for the most part, kept them in their own lane. Most of their songs are in Engrrish, but dude usually delivers it in a pretty unique and palatable manner. DOPE.

I feel like i'm kinda cheating by including Lillies and Remains because literally all of their songs are in Engrish. Kent's singing isn't entirely intelligible, but these guys are such a high quality band that you could care less about it.

That's all I got for now! May share some more later~

If you're like me, you probably loathe the sound of Engrish in Japanese music and wonder why the Japanese would rather forsake their own beautiful language in exchange for absolutely butchering (in most cases) another. Others may find it comedic or even endearing.

HOWEVER. This thread isn't about the actual lyrics (we have threads for that). This thread is about songs that still sound great, despite being entirely (or almost entirely) in Engrish.

What songs do you think still kick ass despite being in Engrrrish?

  3. D'espairsRay's career post-"Coll:set"

Renter en soi's career post-"Sphire Croid"

I'd make HYDE's entire solo career sound like "ROENTGEN"

    The production on MERRY's "Under-World" and "M. E. R. R. Y." albums

I'd make 9mm Parabellum Bullet stay indie and never sign to a major label.

I'd make LOSTAGE's original lineup remain in tact, instead of losing their 2nd guitarist.

    that's all for now

  4. The world is in a precarious state right now, and If shit were to truly hit the fan, all these ideologies and beliefs that people are so deeply invested would no longer matter. What is your political identity gonna do for you when it's a famine and niggas is literally beating down your door trying to take your food cuz they're starving (and don't care if they have to take you out in order to do so)? What is feminism gonna do for you if the world literally descends into an actual rape-culture and you don't have any real men around to protect you?  What are your thoughts on race gonna matter if it's life or death and you have to depend on people that don't look like you?

I think about shit like this because it's frightening how detached we are from reality. I mean, if people can't even deal with dissenting opinions online, I fear for how mentally and spiritually equipped these ppl will be if shit get real out here. It's like ppl have built their entire lives and identities around computer programs, not realizing that the computer itself could one day lose power, crash, or simply be turned off.

  5. I'm a real-ass nigga, so imma keep it real with you:

I think you petty as fuck, and half the time I think you be on some ho shit, but regardless of what you may think of me:

I still got love for ya bitch-ass .

You're an MH vet, and I've always loved your music taste, especially in J-indie. We've shared more than a few laughs together too. So not only am I thankful for your presence on MH, but you were there for me personally when I was a miserable, suicidally-depressed wreck and barely anyone was in my corner. You can't put a price on shit like that. I'll always be grateful to you for that.

I wish things were different, but it is what it is. Take care~

woah, haha. Had no idea this dude went on to start a music career. That's hilariously awesome!

Also cancel culture and sjws can suck a big ol' dick:

non-black cancel culture sheeptards: "OMG HE SAID THE N-WORD. DISGUSTING. CANCEL HIM!!!"

non-black cancel culture sheeptards as soon as a black person does something they don't like: "OMG I HATE NIGGERS!!11"

They can get the fuck outta here with that fake, moral-posturing bullshit.

For this thread's sake, I just finished watching this:

lynch. stans on twitter are calling me a racist because I, a latina actually living in South America, dared complain about my own culture’s shenanigans and used a slur to describe an attitude. Sorry if me calling out latino immigrants committing tax fraud strikes you as racist but last time I checked, I can actually talk about MY OWN CULTURE however I want without a white SJW policing me on how to do it.

Also, fwy cultic, I’m nowhere near thirty, I’m in my mid 20’s and if I have trouble socializing it’s because I’m fucking autistic, not because I‘m “a racist bitch”. Come to me directly next time y’all have an issue with me instead of talking behind my back.

I feel you 100% on this. As an African Descendant of Slavery, I've experienced similar situations. Who would be more qualified to speak on a culture than someone who's already fully immersed in it? I hate when I see these non-"black" SJW types parading around as "allies", when over half of these muhfukkas don't even truly fuck with "black" ppl like that. Most of these ppl don't even want to live around "black" folk, which tells you how they REALLY feel about us. And a lot of these SJW-types champion ideologies that are harmful and destructive to "black" ppl in general.

But yeah, I wouldn't even sweat those people. They're more interested in policing the thoughts and actions of others than their own. They wanna change the world by changing other ppl instead of just being the change they want to see. It's ass-backwards...

this tweet impacted my 2020 more than covid did so far, this is like literally peak zeitgeist in my little spergie spice reality

Christians really need to take time and actually READ the text they claim to be following. The Most High ain't concerned about no damned video games. :tw_joy:

  10. I'm not deserving of anything, yet The Most High's mercy and lovingkindness brings me to tears.

Just when I thought i'd gone off the deep end, he was there to catch me. That's a level of love that is certainly not of this world.

The longer I walk with him, the more I'm learning and understanding his ways.

  11. I got 99 problems but a bit ain't one

nah, seriously, I don't really stress this shit anymore, especially since I'm not really in the arena of sharing/trading/collecting music anymore.

I'll generally take the best I can get.

This would’ve been a stronger track if that Chorus stayed in the same key. I have no idea why American and overseas bands love that song format. It throws off the feel of the track significantly imo.

Other than that, I dig it. That main riff is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

bruh I feel you 100%!!! I hate that key change shit so much. It's just too abrupt and throws off the groove of things. To me it's a very lazy way of trying to give songs a sense of progression.

I can dig the song outside of that too.
