I like DaizyStripper more, because there's a shitload of bands who do the same as Frantic Emiry, and beven better than them. DaizyStripper beats the shit out of most poppy VK bands that has ever existed. And overall, they're just so much better at poprock, than wannabe VK metal.

20 songs, not gonna do a huge review. Few words about each song. Birth Kamakura It's nice when bands do intros that are worth listening. Very beautiful. 8/10 Trigger It's pretty nice. I didn't care for it when the live-only single came out, but now it has really grown on me. There are few songs that I think would've been better for a PV song, but this isn't bad at all. Kazami's composing is just amazing and well thought. 8/10 ??? This was kinda meh. Can't remember much about it. But it's fun to listen to. 6/10 ?????White Butterfly? Awesome. Heavy parts are interesting, and the chorus is really powerfull. Great atmposphere. 9/10 ???????(Re:birth) Beautiful. Can't decide which version I like better. Both has their pros and cons. 7½/10 ????????? Sounds a bit like a filler. Verse was really cool though. Yugiri's nasal vocals are great. 6/10 -absolute- First I thought this would've worked better as an outro, but when the orchestras hit in, I can see why they put it here. Great interlude for Black Dropper. 8/10 Black Dropper A new version, which is much better than the original. It's heavier and more powerfull. 8/10 decade I've been waiting to hear a studio version of this for a long time. It's just as good as I thought it would be. Very nice. 9/10 Smile World Not their best ballad. It's kinda forgettable. But it's good nonetheless. I should listen to this more. But not bad at all, great way to end the album. 7/10 Love ???? I'm glad they do upbeat songs in a cool way, and not just those that are so ridiculously happy to a point when it's just ridiculous. This reminds me of Luna Sea. I like it. 8/10 ?? Sounds like a better version of ???. But not by much. It's still pretty forgettable. 6½/10 Seaside Avenue Basslines. Gotta love those. One of their best upbeat songs. Violins sound great. Dunno what to think about the odd classical part in the end, but maybe it'll grow on me. Other than that, it's almost perfect. 9/10 Farewell Line Another slow song. Pretty calm, honestly I can't remember much about it. 7/10 ?? Best ballad of the album. Piano + violins + vocals = instant win. Especially for me. 8/10 letter An ok rock song. A bit better than just a filler, but nothing "amazing". 7/10 ????????????? Their best song, ever. Hands down. 10/10 DIRTY STARRY Fiiilleeer. 6/10 ????? It's ok, not bad, not their best. 7/10 Stay Gold Too happy for my taste. But it's really well composed. 7/10 I haven't cared about them much lately, since they haven't released anything epic since CROSS. Harusomething was just plain boring. But this regained my faith in them. Some songs are simply awesome, some are ok, but none of the songs suck. Some of these songs have been played since they started, and you can really hear how much they've payed attention to making them perfect. I think I'll be listening to these two for a long time.

I hope it's something like Carry Dawn. The best DIO song ever. His voice is perfect for Hard Rock. I don't want another clone band that sounds like every other crappy-wannabe-heavy VK band.

The guard must be small cocked asshole who failed at life and is pissed off at everything. You see someone walking calmly and you fucking choke him? Dude, no. What happened to the good old grabbing hand and saying "excuse me"? Nowadays authorities beat the crap out of people and then ask. People like him should be sent to Iraq.

I respect your opinion against Mana, but just one question. You think that MALICE MIZER and Moi dix Mois sound the same? ^o) Well, no. I was mostly thinking songs of Moi dix Mois. But if I remember correctly, other members of MM also wrote songs, so it's natural that they're different.Disposable: Yeah, I meant the guitars. I really like their basslines. Toshiya is easily my favorite members. He should do a solo career.

The reason I respect X and Yoshiki, is because the guy is just so damn talented. He played for the damn emperor. His classical music pieces are just genius. Classical version of Without You shows and requires more talent than any VK song ever made. Sure, X didn't really bring anything new to the music scene, but who cares? They did it really well. They did it better than most. Atleast in my opinion.
  7. bakteeri

Nero from Merry is probably the best japanese drummer I've heard. Joe (it's Joe right?) from hide's solo works has some pretty sweet drumlines too.
  8. bakteeri

I don't "hate" any band, but the meaning of words usually get meaningless on the internet. (makes sense, y/n?) I don't like Mana. He's a terrible guitarists, and everything he does sounds the same. He should just focus on making clothes, because his music sucks. I don't like Dir en grey either. Not just because they're bad, but because after good albums, they do shit. Kisou was soooooo good. Everything after that sucks majorly. Terrible uninspired music. Simple and crappy playing. Uroboros, awesome again. But then the single after that was one of their shittiest songs ever. Seriously, what the hell, how can the quality change be so drastic?
  9. bakteeri

I'm so glad it turned out well. They totally deserve it. http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/japan-rocks-11370738&tab=9482930&section=1206853&playlist=11370750 Lol, "so you just bought it" "...yes!".

Best thing since Peep Show. Monochrome fucking owns. The guitars are simply genious. Chorus is great and has an awesome mood, perfect drumming, good basslines. I honestly wasn't expecting them to get good again, I'm glad they proved me wrong. Monochrome get's 10/10. Easily. I've only listened the one on youtube and that version of Cry Against has a terrible quality, so it's kinda hard to say how it is. But so far, the only good part was the chorus. Not as good as Monochrome. Saying this sounds like Dir en grey is the biggest insult ever. If they tried to sound like them, they did it atleast 9000 times better. Fucking ownage. Congratulations Merry, you no longer suck.

Lol @ everyone complaining about "un-talented" band getting major. Sure they're mainstream as fuck, sure they're most likely "build" by PSC. But these guys can play a hell of a lot better than most VK-"musicians". For a pop-rock band, their songs are surprisingly well thought and composed. Anyway, good luck for them. They deserve it much better than most of the crap getting major. And no, they won't change a bit. There's no way they could get more commercial. That is what they're good at, and they do it well.

First I thought about money, but on the other hand, I'd prefer knowlidge. I'd like to know everything about life, death, universe etc. Just everything there is. Wouldn't mind some money too, but as long as I have enough to live, then that's good enough for me.
  13. bakteeri

Why the hell would he waste his talent on that? He's not even that good at it and it sounds like they're full of effects anyway.I'm too lazy to do a proper review. And I don't remember what song is what, because of kanjis. But the first few songs were excellent. Even the intro is something you wanna listen to more than once. Last two tracks weren't that great. Everything in between is good to average.
  14. bakteeri

Thanks. Even tough I found that some time ago. Those are so damn sad.
  15. ^ I'm referring to the intros of DIM and Uroboros.
  16. Sure, Gazette isn't THAT popular, but they're way more popular than Dir en grey. In Japan, of course. Uroboros has sold almost 50 000 copies since it was released, SR over 100 000. (yeah, it was released a year earlier, but still.) Couldn't find how much DIM has sold so far, but during the first week, it was over 30 000. (though, so was Uroboros, to be fair) Anyway, the difference isn't that great, but it's notable. Though, Gazette has much better promotion too. Free-Will sucks at promoting their bands. And Dir en grey mostly focuses on overseas. Which they sould do, because they're more successful there than in Japan. They said it even themselves, that they would have disbanded if they would've stayed in Japan only. I'm not surprised at all, that Gazette did it first. Though, I believe they both would be able to fill it pretty easily, considering their sales. But we'll see.Though, to be honest, I just fucking. hate. comparing Gazette and Dir en grey. They have nothing in common musically (yeah, they have almost the same kind of intro, which no one never listens to. who cares. neither of them invented that), nor by looks. I've never understood that ridiculous gazefags vs. dirufags fighting you see almost everywhere. The only similarity there is, is that they both own most Japanese bands at what they do. They're successful, AND at times, they're capable of doing music that isn't complete bullshit. That's usually a rare combination.

Doing a fast lazy review. Human-clad Monster When the song started, I almost wanted to change it, the intro riff was so boring and weak. But when the singing started, it got better and better, and at the chorus, it became epic. Gotta love those basslines. It's a great song, but why the hell did they pick it as the starter song? It doesn't work at all. 8/10 Death Point Still loving the chorus. But it kinda feels like the song isn't working so well as it did with the PV. The repetiveness is even more apparent. But it's still pretty good, especially for a PV song. 7/10 13 -thirteen- So, so simple. Yet, so so addictive. I love it. The composition sounds like a hit song that could've been written in the late 60's. It's just genious. 9/10 Love Is Dead Still not liking it. Roud round and so on. 5/10 Devil's Parade This song has it's ups and downs. The chorus is great, but first verse just simply sucks. This song really represents what they said in their interview. They wanted to do music you can dance to. The part at about 2 mins is really cool. 7/10 Dope At this point I honestly couldn't remember a thing about this, so I had to listen to it again. It's ok. Pretty basic Despa song. Nothing new. Kinda forgettable, but nice to listen to. 6/10 Falling About time a normal cool upbeat song. Verses, choruses, pretty much all the parts are really cool, melodies are very well done. I've missed this. It's not exactly like Coll:set, but not it's not faggy like most upbeat songs on Redeemer. 8/10 Progress Another song which I can't remember anything about. Kinda like Dope, it has their signature sound. Playing it safe. It's a bit better though. Main riff sounds really mellow. It might have needed a bit more synths though. Verses were a bit weak, but chorus was nice. 7/10 Final Call This song has potential to be really good, but it's kinda lacking. Probably mostly, because the basslines are fucking terrible. Where's the wanking man? Guitar solo was nice, it's nice to hear those, since they're really not overusing them. Unfortunately. But Karyu isn't the greatest guitarist ever, so yeah. 6½/10 Abyss One of their best ballads. Great way to end the album. Their melodies are really great, when they don't sound like half-arsed. And the basslines are really cool. Zero should stand out more often like this. 9/10 Much better than Redeemer, not sure if it's better than Mirror.

Never listened to his bands, but shit sucks. Many known musicians died lately. But what can you say, it's just life. And I think it's just a custom in Japan how to announce these things.
  19. bakteeri

Is there any site that's collecting what other musicians/friends have pubicly said about this? There was one for Jasmine You, so I was wondering. I'd like to read those.
  20. ^ Hah, I was just thinking the same. This is huge for them. There hasn't been any new vk bands there since the 90's. Well, good luck, they're gonna need it. 50 000 is pretty challenging.
  21. Lawl, I don't think I've ever even heard of them. Well, good for the I guess. I hope atleast one graduating band would turn out good.
  22. bakteeri

They went back to NIL I suppose. Shiver I've told my opinion about this song many times already. It's a nice solid song, though it's far from their best. 8/10 Hesitating Means Death First I thought it was gonna be another pointless boring heavy song, but then the chorus kicked in and it turned out to be pretty good. The song progression reminds me of Disorder era. Heavy riff - heavy verse - catchy punky chorus etc. The chorus is really cool, and so is the post-chorus. But the heavy parts are kinda lame. Especially the one in the end. Yay, two notes? Come on, you can do better than that. But because of the choruses, I'll give it. 7/10 Naraku Kinda like a slow version of HMD. Except the heavy parts are way more better. And I just love the guitar solo. Great atmosphere. Chorus again, very well done. Ruki sounds especially good here. And I noticed the basslines, which is kinda rare with Gazette. I was actually surprised how good they were. 8/10 I still don't get the SR reference. There's no female vocals, no faggy rapping, now soft jazzy guitars. The only even remotely similar track is Hyena. Just because Shiver starts with a chorus, the overall sound is completely different when compared to Regret. And the song is better too. Anyway, it's much better that Before I Decay, but miles away from DIM. I hope they go more experimental next time.

? When I heard the preview, I was not expecting it to be this aggressive. It was weird at first, but I got used to it fast. I've always liked his screaming, and it sounds great here too. Though, still my favorite part is the chorus. It's really catchy, sounds so good. Guitar solo was really cool, even though I was hoping it to be a bit more melodic, but this works too. Basslines are also really really good. Overwhelming basslines = instant win. Those screams ended the song quite nicely. 9/10 ???? I was hoping to get atleast one ballad from him, and I'm glad I did. I love the dark feeling in it, and the jazzy piano solo was very cool. But it kinda feels like it's missing something. It could be more powerfull. But it's a nice mellow song. 8/10 And the live-only release. ???? This is definitely my favorite track he did. Guitars, basslines, violins, everything is just what I want from music. Beautiful melodies. The guitar solo puts shivers down my spine. It's so cool. And I liked those whispers in the end. I'm so glad I got to hear this. 10/10 It's a shame. His solo-career would have been success.
  24. bakteeri

I made a classical version of Kusatta umi de blabla.
  25. bakteeri

How much of kagerou's stuff have you actually heard? Because they have a lot of songs without any screaming what so ever. You should check it out if you haven't.
