  1. already sounds better than anything the studs ever released I agree ryo's voice sounds a little too high pitched in some moments, but overall I'm really digging these samples! Especially tracks 2, 5 and 6. I didn't even know I needed this band to happen but now my hopes are up.
  2. ARTKEI LIVES I've been waiting for this for so long goddammit

I wish I liked this because of Koba and Die (who's the one I like the most in DEG), but the fact that the song is so repetitive just kills it for me. The style is exactly what I expected from Die, but still. I hope they can create something more... I don't know, complete?

    Absolutely adore this woman.
  5. this new Lana song though

Song's pretty cool. Guy on vocals remains the standout in this band though, otherwise they'd be rather boring.
  7. if I ever thought of having favorite members in DOF, they'd be these two.
  8. Hey everyone, I'm not sure if this is even viable or whatever, I'd just like to know if there was any way to include a link to the 'poll of the week' tag in the Quick Links section in the header of the forum. I know there's a tag, but most threads are spread around in the forum, so it can get a little confusing to find them. Anyway, just an organizational nitpick.

geez that budget. poor DJ. Hayato sounds terrible. I guess there really wasn't any way to keep going like this.
  10. Lin, メカクシ and JILLED RAY samples sound good. Will check out something by the later two. Still wish HAL wasn't wasting his voice in something like FEST VAINQUEUR. SINCREA >>>>>
  11. Lapidary is still my favorite after all these years. I probably discovered them in 2003/2004 in some random Brazilian websites and went on to get everything I could on slsk, but they were always under the radar in some way. I'm pretty sure my first and also favorite song at the time was 永遠に夢を重ねて off that same album and it's still a big favorite. Classic stuff. Then I started to follow them more closely when the single The Birth came out in 2005, and then when VISIONS was released. I think these three are probably the ones I like the most in their disco. [REVIVE], their compilation with re-recorded songs, was also pretty great for obvious reasons.
  12. newest chirinuruwowaka is really cool. I always forget how much I love Yuu's voice. might as well get into another GO!GO! kick soon.

    1. CAT5

      CAT5

Yuu is so underrated! I liked the new chriwaka too

  13. Seems like they'll be touring the US with All Time Low and Sleeping With Sirens too:
  14. Even though I haven't been a fan for the last couple of albums, I'm happy for them and I hope they succeed in the overseas market somehow. I guess going full-on English with their music really did help them out.

Kagrra, - 京 (Miyako) for me. I don't know what's up with this album to be honest; it wasn't really well received when it came out (people were already assuming they sold out after going major) and people always overlook it since their most popular one, san, was released shortly one year after. The thing with Miyako for me is that it fills a void of darker tunes and a gloomy mood that always lacked in their discography and that was only rarely explored (like in songs in the same vein as Oumaga toki, from just a year earlier, and even older stuff from their first and classic mini-albums). The production is kinda mushy, making Isshi's voice in particular more immerse in the songs rather than a standout, and it truly encompass that "oni" and demon-like energy they carried through their indie years, even in the more upbeat tunes like 徒然謌. Certain songs like 咒, 冬幻境 (Nao's bass solo and Isshi's vocal melody afterwards are a thing of beauty), 螺旋 and even the instrumental, selftitled intro are easily among my favorites in their catalogue. The only downside of this album imo is its lenght: 34 minutes just wasn't enough at the time. But then we got san, their largest one, later on with songs in a similar vibe like 斑雲, 鬼を憐れむ謳, 孑孒 and 廻, so it's all good.
  16. what kind of random line-up is this lol haven't heard of Aya Kamiki since the time she was Japan's answer to Avril Lavigne.

^^ no one here is saying they're happy that DJ is disbanding though? At most some people (me included) think that their newer output isn't as good as their earlier one. I thought Hayato already had surgery on his throat too, quite a while ago in fact.
  18. omg omg omg Song is different/weird in a good way. Can't wait for the album!

I fucking hate how we can't see any of their videos online. smh Sony I NEED THIS DVD THOUGH. 100% sure I won't ever see it however and none of their stuff seems to pop up online anymore.

This. Their creativity died with VISIONS and azure, so it's not really sad for me as it'd have been if they broke up during those years. Still I'm slightly heartbroken to see them go after being active for so long.

I only use slsk sparingly these days. Haven't used it much since the last surge here on MH some time ago. I'm not even sure if I have the latest version at this point. I'll try to stop by though! I'm saishuu over there.
