    Who the fuck decided that for architecture or design to be "modern", it has to have no curves or intricate decorations, and has to be completely made up of straight lines and right angles?

      Much of that comes from standardization as an adaptation strategy to the industrial revolution. It's so much easier to manage quality and at the same time drive down costs on something highly standardized and stripped of any decorations. This informs people's sense of style as well. And the final step is that the customer is rarely willing to pay extra for something intricate and bespoke when a readymade solution costs a fraction.

    Out of curiosity what are some examples of vk bands in the past, that much like dimlim where it feels like 99% of the consensus (at least among the western online community) that they're solid. Feels like with other popular bands you still had a pretty present vocal audience saying they sucked ie mejibray, deathgaze, kizu etc (wont even bother mentioning obvious ones like diru and gazette)

    Why does Dir en grey's "Yurameki" sound so Luna-Seaesque to me? We all know that Dir, along with almost every vk band, cites Luna as one of his big influences; my question goes in a technical sense. I tried listening to every song Luna put out before "Yurameki", but I haven't found yet one you could say "Here is the guitar/bass/drum sound Dir borrowed for this song"🤔🤔🤔

    we just found out that our most visited live hall has closed forever. the building got demolished. I somehow feel incredibly sad now. there were so many memories tied to that location ... and now there won't be a concert ever again. 😔
