Moreover, I smell this could have to do with the suddenly massive-closing of VK stores. Like VK fandom started to stretch out and managements are doing their best effort to keep their signed artists 'appealing' to the bangya that left in the scene?

i'm curious what's happening and if it's a sign of certain changes in the scene. what happened with takemasa doesn't happen too often, and there are many bandmen who keep their secrets without getting into trouble, wouldn't it be safer to just keep everything in secret as usual?

Yeah, the whole Kisaki thing is gross. Wasn’t there a controversy between a KPOP star of Big Bang (Forgot band name) recently?

I don't like the whope business behind ut, but I don't mind the music. It's no different from pop from other countries, language aside. I rarely find albums I listen to from A to Z tho. There's usually way too many fillers, just like on pop albums from other countries.
 
Awful fan base, just like the jrock ajd visual kei fandom, jpop fandom and so on. No difference whatsoever.

It's so tiring hearing the same rehashed opinions about k-pop being exploitative, manufactured etc. The truth of the fact is, yes there are some toxic sides to the industry, but it differs from group to group and change is happening. If people discussed say American pop music the way they do k-pop, taking every breakdown, every atrocity and using it to paint the whole industry, what an ugly picture that would be.
 
Anyway, there's a large overlap in the things that draw me to k-pop and visual kei. Mixing music styles, theatrical concepts, interesting personalities. And there's a ton of variety , if you like me are drawn to angsty, dramatic shit, boy does k-pop provide. The part of me that enjoys visual kei is 100% the same that listened to BTS' Singularity and Tear on repeat all of last year.

It's the same things for bands who was in PS COMPANY, it's not surprising  ans it's not new or any labels.

I keep seeing VK stores getting the axe, magazines ceasing publication and very few bands joining spotify, putting their songs up on YouTube and stuff like that.
 
Looks like streaming services will be the final nail in the coffin for VK as whole.  Tragic, but it serves them right for always being so greedy and narrow minded in terms of business and reaching out to the fans, mostly foreigners.

Had to add something to my intro, that is I am super disappointed with BPR even though they are a sorta big name in visual kei and could really give budget to their bands production, I feel like they are pushing them a bit too hard. I understand why some bands like babykingdom would join them for the budget and resources. But it is sad that they creativity would be forced under a schedule. Same with Kiryu, their recent releases are not too bad, but I'm still putting their older songs on repeat rather than the new ones.

Im Rica and I have been a guest on this forum for a few years, and finally decided to join the family and introduce myself. I am 19 and I'm from Hong Kong(yup, technically part of China but also not really!!). This forum is so useful and informational. I started liking Visual Kei at about 2015, youtube recommended me Kiryu's Amaterasu MV out of nowhere. And I have been in the circle since.
 
I'm not a really active bangya, since I couldnt travel for lives; I got my friends to bought a few CD for me from Japan when they go travelling. Personally, I dont know anyone who know visual kei around me, since it is a very very niche thing in HK. I can only tell my sister and to few of my close friends. So it's great that I know there is a forum like this where I can talk about and read about things that I love. I am actually going to travel to Tokyo next week and I am super excited about it, too bad non of my favs have any lives during my stay :(. 
 
(sorry if i am too long-winded, im a bit excited). 
 
Few of my favorite bands are(in no specific order): 
Kiryu they got me into this whole thing, 
DIV heart broken when they disbanded but was predicted since their last single was uneventful to say the least, 
MejiBray still hasnt got excited about the 8psb thing, 
Clowd sad that they disbanded as well, 
Royz only for their music occasionally and for the kami- Subaru, 
Arlequin love their music and getting their songs on spotify is really appreciated, 
The Raid got into them recently because of kabukicho rainy, love their music and the vocalist's voice
Unite. like their song style occasionally, came across them because they are in the same company as DIV
Babykingdom their songs are so catchy and shogo is so cute~ (not sure if it is a guilty pleasure here)...

I also listen to other bands based on the songs, I'm mostly into Vkei for the music to be honest. 
 
Other than vkei, also have an unexplainable love for Motely Crue, Queen, and any other songs occasionally popular to millennials these days.
I am so happy to be here~ and nice to meet you guys~   guess im talking too much for an introduction post  looking forward to be educated about band dramas and news, since i dont really know japanese and am very unfamiliar with fandoms. 
 

K-Pop is a very broad term. I assume that here we are using it to refer to "gender-band pop" music as much as the common sense does, so I'm going to use it that way, too.
 
I like K-Pop because of two reasons.
 
First, the visual one. K-pop is always eye-candy. I just love watching their high-skilled dancing moves; some of them are nearly acrobatic. Then, I like their looks and tbh they are really beautiful and hot to watch, both guys and girls.I can't deny it, lol. And also they have kinda sophisticated looks in terms of hair and clothes, so it's always pleasant to look at them dance.
 
Then, there is their approach to pop music. I like their music, indeed, and that's because they have 'that' sense of melody and harmony that makes them sound 'South-korean' although you can really hear many arrangements that sometimes are just ripped-off a Rihanna, Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift song. I mean, you really can't expect, in matters of cultural contact and exchange, a product to be the "exact" repliqué or the copy of its inspiration source in other culture. Cultural phenomenons are always objects of "reception" within a discourse that is always different from the discourse of the origin, so a full "copy" can never happen but a re-signification and re-placement of it in a whole new perspective. So, K-pop is 'Ariana Grande', but isn't 'Ariana Grande' at the same time. The same happens with VK; you can definitely hear the Bauhaus or Slipknot influence, yet you know at the same time that you choose Dir en grey or the Gazette because they actually sound not only 'Japanese' but also 'visual kei'. I'd like to explain here what is that thing that I my ears feel like 'South-korean', but I haven't had the time to analyze it as much as I did with VK...
 
Finally, let me be clear over some stuff: Yes, K-pop is mainstream oriented, thus very conformism-inducing, massive-identification oriented, and blablabla everything else you could argue about it pointing out its flaws as a social phenomenon, and probably I couldn't agree more with you. Yes, I'm also aware of their slave-like treatment and deeply reject it... I assume the contradiction and it'll be very interesting to discuss it.

Seems vkei really walks his end.

It seems that visual kei stores are going out of business at an alarming rate. The latest casualty is the ZEAL LINK store in Nagoya, which will cease operations on May 29.

I may be a little off in places but have tried my best, at least you have a good gist of what it means but he's saying something like:

"Especially because this information has come late, I'm very sorry. As usual Kiryu's takemasa is here, but I don't expect to receive understanding/sympathy immediately but from now on throughout Kiryu's activities, things such as our words and behaviour, I think the only option is, from now, to report/show my sincerity the best I can."
 
Some parts are difficult to make sense of as a direct translation into English so have basically given the "idea" of what he's saying instead of putting something that makes no sense whatsoever. haha. But if anyone else can give it a better shot then go for it. Hope this helps anyway.

No matter how we look at it from a rational, western point of view, it's easy to understand why a teenager who is constantly fed a fantasy and actually has a relationship of sorts with the artist (sometimes even sex and phone conversations in exchange of money) would get upset.

Also, there's lots of artists who get openly jealous if their gyas have actual realtionships outside of the scene, I've heard from a few people that their honmei has asked them not to date or a fellow bandmember has told them not to tell that member about their relationship. So we can't only blame fans for that sort of culture.
