FOSCOR70 reacted to 123Sandman321 in THE THIRTEEN
Anything post Gamushara, that gives you 3 mini-albums. EVIL MAD SCIENCE, URGE and LAMENT. They had some passable songs even before, but they were spread too far inbetween all the trash, especially on their first album, so...no need to bother picking through the garbage, when you can just spin the actually listenable stuff.

FOSCOR70 reacted to kuyashii in Dir en grey
I'd rather listen to MOAB because it sucks less than TIW but the bassless production is as bad sounding as the overly-clipped mass of sounds of TIW imo.
I don't know, I never really had a problem with Uroboros' original mix and I think the strange-sounding production actually aids to create the unique atmosphere the album has, but I don't really any issue with the remaster either (except with "Stuck Man" that sounds really weak without the bass as prominment as on the original). I think the best thing the remaster did was enhance the vocals (when the subject matter is vocals alone, I usually recommend people to listen to the remaster because comparatively, the growls are much clearer, the harmonies are crispier) but I see how someone would feel like it lessens the power of the original experience as a whole.
I wonder if we'll ever have another good sounding album by them lol. Even they are mostly sticking to the same production crew for a while, their sound has been getting increasingly worse overall. A band with their importance and influence having only 3 great produced albums out of 10? WTF
That's sincerely why I want them to tour as less as possible to really have the most time to work on studio possible. You can really feel how rushed the whole process for TIW was (not only when it came to production overall, but the writing really felt dumbed down and lacking too). Kinda curious how much they toured in 2007 (the most they ever toured in an year) and 2008 (not as much as they did in 2007) and still came out with something with the scope and complexity of Uroboros in less than two years after Marrow. Maybe they're just old and rich and lazy now?

FOSCOR70 reacted to Koumori in Sadie
Sadie was one of the first VK bands I've listened to.
But I do remember that there was this awkward documentary from Germany where a girl ran away from home to Japan, to meet the band and to ask Mao to marry her.
Everything was of course staged, but I will never forget how cringy it was for every German speaking VK fan.

Hooked up with a guy that played World of Warcraft, turned out he was super bad at the game and embarrassed me on the Internet.

TMOAB is almost like a finely polished diamond compared to TIW in my opinion... They really botched the whole production on the latter one.

FOSCOR70 got a reaction from monkeybanana4 in THE THIRTEEN
Wow...i find it sad how the creator of sadie's thread on artists page was comparing them to deg which i think led and caused everybody to bitch about how sadie are copycats and now again this thread is created too with someone comparing them to deg...
Sadie's every video on YouTube has comments where people are arguing how they are copy cats or not... Heck whenever i see this bands name anywhere, there i find people hating and comparing them to deg... Just stop people,i find it toxic and sickening.
There should be a rule regarding creating a artist thread that should prohibit the creator from posting any other info other than members info musical style and stuff cuz the first post matters.

FOSCOR70 reacted to Himeaimichu in VK bands you just can't stand?
I explained it earlier, but it's because the fanbase from the west that came with Uroboros, are often from the western heavy metal scene, usually Deathcore fans, and often feel the need to shit on Vkei, just because they wear makeup, because according to them, a band that looks good automatically has shit skills (by that logic, the best bands shouldn't have basic hygiene lol). They act all stuck up because their favourite bands "aren't fags".
Jokes on them, because Diru wears makeup again.
Ironically, a lot of these people also HATE Nu Metal, despite a lot of songs on Uroboros being straight up way more Korn inspired than even Vulgar.

FOSCOR70 reacted to aetarna in Visual Kei on Spotify Compilation
Because I have no life, here have a small list of visual kei artists available for listening over spotify. Some have full discographies some only few albums or singles. there are also instances on several artists from all over the world being grouped together on one page, because of shared name.
What is spotify? - to put it short, a digital music streaming service. It comes in two flavors - free with ads, and paid via subscription, with no ads and few useful perks. Sign up, log in, most likely download their application to your computer or mobile and you're set.
Isn't that piracy? - no it's completly legal and artists and/or their label (we know how that goes...) are getting paid for each listen.
For the start I cut this list into two categories. First one is the bands that retain their japanese song tags even on spotify - for all purists who want their last.fm scrobbles accurate

FOSCOR70 reacted to Himeaimichu in dark and heavy vk bands
Some of La'Mule's early stuff had a dark sound. Fantasy and Mind Control come to mind. Thrash metal with organs and all.
-
FOSCOR70 reacted to Saishu in dark and heavy vk bands
Early 12012 was heavier than whatever the hell that was before they called it quits.
-
FOSCOR70 reacted to appl- in dark and heavy vk bands

FOSCOR70 reacted to StriderSubzero in dark and heavy vk bands
Big ones:
D (especially 7th Rose), D'espairsRay of course, Aliene Ma'riage (especially 21st Century), Girugamesh, lynch, Sadie (though their stuff is pretty spotty IMO), Gullet, some Kuroyume, Madeth Gray'll, Merry Go Round, some of Beast of Blood-era Malice Mizer
Other random ones that come to mind:
Nega, Grieva, VellaDonna, L'yse:nore (to some extent), Syndrome, Vice+Risk, Velze Dieulawahl, Blam Honey (if you like industrial), Chaos System

FOSCOR70 reacted to inartistic in List of every active visual kei band?!

And here's a list from an English-language site, vkgy. Longer than the Wiki (and open to contributions, so feel free to help us make corrections if you see anything wrong )

FOSCOR70 reacted to Tokage in List of every active visual kei band?!

FOSCOR70 reacted to マジゲイ誤算 in List of every active visual kei band?!
http://xn--v-995c.com/
V系ジャンル・系統別 / 活動中V系バンド ← Visual bands by Visual Genre(*gasp* visual kei is considered a genre in Japan) that are currently active.
It's the most useful for finding bands and disbanded bands for me.
-
FOSCOR70 reacted to Cantavanda in List of every active visual kei band?!
That fandom list you listed is not complete at all, it only has the most popular or major bands. But that's not even complete, since for example Versailles or the GazettE aren't even in it lol. It even contains disbanded bands!
There's for certain hundreds and maybe even thousands of bands active, just less popular. Bands that don't have money for music videos or big promotions, but still make music, limited discs and lives. There's an entire universe of unknown VK bands out there, and some have really good music.

FOSCOR70 got a reaction from AmberCrystal17 in YOHIO new single "Merry Go Round" release
wow...it was unexpectedly nice. Very catchy and kind of avant-garde type. Really liked it.
I hope he creates more of these kinda unique pieces instead of the usual vk trash.
