prewords is a rock band formed in 2018 which music style is a variation of various rock styles and mainly active in Tokyo.

Also prewords is a still unknown rockband, which surely some people gonna like. If you like guys who sing with a "high" voice (such as Janne Da arc/Acid Black Cherry) you will surely like their style. They call it themselves "female voice" Their music is available via itunes and spotify, so I would say, give them a try!

    NEXT search this THURSDAY! ~

  2. after buying music I prefer to play via spotify anyway, because of playing also gives an artist little money.... even if it takes 1000 of plays.. takes hours but well. o.o

but selling via tunecore isn't cheap too... you gotta need some good sales to earn the cost money back 😅

however sometimes they have cheaper or free offers for a limited period.

The bands/labels can set the limitations not spotify themselves.

and for reason wise, spotify is convenient but some bands/labels would rather you buy the cd or itunes etc. version.

basically for an artist to make just 10yen/10cents they need 25 plays, so it is not really good for money. so there is that train of thought too.

beside that it can take 2 years until they received the money from spotify plays 🤣

  4. This time I have an interview with ex-RE:VEIN bassist 彪(Aya)

    Born in Otaru, Hokkaido.
In the spring of 2018, Aya launched her own solo project and started to work as a singer-songwriter as well as a bassist.
The concept is “true self“. Because I wanted to make myself known as a person through my own music.
Aya’s music does not glorify suffering, nor does it force anyone to sympathize, but rather it expresses feelings of her own.

  5. vkgy latest interview, with a famous vkei writer!

Also I worked hard on this one so it's a cross post with JROCKNROLL

Nagasawa Tomonori (長澤智典) is a music journalist of note, having written for most major visual kei magazines and bands. We had the chance to ask him questions over several weeks, and so we explore his career, and his decades-long view of visual kei from the inside.

If there are people who still have any questions about the "visual kei" history, we can do another round :D

So if you do have any questions, throw them to me and I'll will ask them!

  6. Last week I shared his BAND SEARCH and today I share with you his full interview!

Sho knows Japanese and English, so I did do the original interview with him in English and he translated everything in Japanese, so if you understand Japanese (almost/fluently) I recommend you to check the Japanse version, since it's all his own words!

Hopefully you guys will read this interview, Sho is a XJAPAN/Yoshiki fan and beside visual kei he also loves Gothic bands a lot.

    v. weird mood to come back to your transparently obvious joke thread only to find people taking it seriously

    well since it''s used.....

But anyway, I doubt Yasu used it in a racist way.... I always saw it as an anti racism statement.  since you have with and black even kissing... so to me it says.. whatever someones color, love doesn't matter, to mix it doesn't matter.

    something like that ^^

And you don't think it's possible some bands are just having fun making music... ? I mean, nowadays it's very crazy to think your gonna make a living with your band. It's possible, but you cannot do music for this reason.

Some can, but still playing lives is important.

lives are important to find and to keep your fans.

  9. My love for visual kei never will fade away. I love the magic happening.

However, the music quality of the past 10 years... I've no clue why the hell people like this kind of sound so much....

So I switched more to rock bands with members over 40 years who still play that beautiful older "rock/metal" style. or who really can mix down current mainstream with old style. (aka VERTUEUX and NEiN).

But younger bands well... it's hard.

Still it's fun to see how visual kei is changing and who knows the older styles are coming back within a few years again. Or we get a completely amazing new mainstream kind of vibe.

  10. Hello folks,

I already have 3 band search profiles available for you guys which I published on JROCK'N'ROLL.

ALCYON is a Nagoya (名古屋) based visual kei band who formed in December 2017, and started activity in July 2018. They typically focus on heavy-toned music which contrasts beautifully against the high voice of vocalist Sera.

They celebrate their second anniversary this July at Nagoya Fits ALL. Read on to learn about their two years of activity so far.

It's a band who we somehow never really notice, however their music isn't bad at all and since last month we also can enjoy their music via digital platforms!

So please check them out here!

    https://vk.gy/blog/an-interview-with-alcyon/

  12. 3000 yen for a streaming... that's expensive. Oh well usually their gigs are 4500yen(paid in advance).  so a bit cheaper😅

Their CD is also 3000yen, so they kinda expensive band anyway. (Lot's of normal rock bands sell their CD's for 2500yen maxium (tax off))

    but anyway their twitter is

    https://twitter.com/afro_skull

I already paid for 3 other amazing gigs. so.. kinda skip the rest for this month 🤣

  13. Ah, this is totally mainstream sound.

    It's not bad.

but why the hell are you doing this via the visual kei way?...

I mean this sound is popular in Japan anyway...

not that pop cannot be visual kei.

but it's just weird to see visual dressed guys.. dancing around as a typical mainstream pop group.

Oh well, or maybe the visual kei way, just gave them the opportunity to kinda play lives....

I'm looking forward to see with who the guys will play in a couple of months, since their sound doesn't really fit any visual kei event...

    Spoiler
