  1. I'm starting to see a pattern here. Every time I really(like really) fall for a girl, they turn out to be gay in the end D: This has happened already with like 3 of the biggest crushes I've had in past few years. Also a girl I dated for a while some time ago (who I wasn't really that much into) said she's usually more into girls too lol. And yeah, I'm a guy so that's a little bit problematic : /

  2. I've had a little bit of falling off from VK as of this year. Mostly because I'm a die-hard fan of Mejibray and AvelCain and they both went/are going on hiatus. There are still enjoyable bands around, but I've been getting more into other kinda music lately. In general I'm liking the scenes a lot and most new music is more interesting than golden era VK ever was to me. But that's just my personal taste. Anyways, I'm sure I'll get back to VK loop in few months - that's how it always goes. Taste changes go in waves.

  3. @violetchainya I prefer smaller gigs too, but with GNR it's not really an option : / Michael Monroe's band is super chill. They're always really friendly towards fans - I got photos with all of the guys :D I think I've seen him 3 times live now. But I happen to live in the same country as him - Finland, so I got it easy. I once saw him hanging around the railway station sunbathing or something lol. I've also ran into Andy McCoy (the original guitarist who was with Mike during Hanoi Rocks) on multiple occasions, because he lives really close to a friend of mine. I've always mistaken him as some random old junkie at first :D

  5. @violetchainbut these are the days to be excited about GNR! I didn't think I'd see the day when Axl and Slash would be playing together again. I've seen all the bands before and GNR is definitely the one I'm most excited about now. Michael Monroe's gigs can be cool, but when he's warming up some other band, I don't think he's at his best. One of his 3 hour gigs were excellent however. The Darkness is really interesting, because the last time I saw them was with Lady Gaga and the crowd was so not into them which just sucked, but this time I expect to be dancing there in the front row with all the likeminded people. :) This is gonna be sooo good

  6. True, they did feel more experimental! Of course it's not fair to judge a newcomer band and the band DDRM is now, because at the beginning of their cycle, people didn't know their whole palette. So naturally every new song felt more fresh. Another point I'd like to make is that DDRM is still very much a new band as far as normal music scenes go. They've been around for what? A couple of years? And only got one "full album" out. So I would say VK scenes are part to blame here and the desperate need to push new music out every other month. *sigh* It is what it is.

I'm interested every time a new DDRM release comes too, don't get me wrong, there is a lot of potential in the band :)

  7. I think bands should always follow their own path and do music that they like best. Otherwise the end results will turn out soulless and fans don't like the songs even if they resemble their preferred era of songwriting.

Having said that, of course as a fan or whatever, I can voice my opinion about their music too and decide whether I want to follow them or not. The thing is, I feel like DDRM is losing their edge and the defining aspect that kept me interested in them. With every new release they sound more and more like one of those one-in-dozen VK bands that pops up every day. And to make matters worse, I don't think DDRM's songwriting shines brightest with lighter songs. I think there are more catchy and interesting rock bands around that do lighter material.

I'm not alone with these thoughts so that's why the situation is troublesome. I don't think anyone is ditching the ship quite yet, but it's obvious people aren't as excited with their latest releases. Maybe DDRM's direction brings new fans? who knows, all the more power to those who like this stuff.

  8. I've been keeping my eye on these guys since the beginning and I'm still interested, but AvelCain is a bit too strong here..... Also none of the previews sounds as catchy as their first singles.

Ripping off AvelCain is a bit mysterious with this band. It would kinda make sense for a newcomer band now to do this while Karma is not around but this Akasoma band here started while AvelCain was still alive..... then again - AvelCain references are the biggest reason I'm following this band .. so it works I guess >_>
