    I don't feel an inkling of sympathy for him. As many people here have said before, many bandmen have made these same mistakes, you would think others would see this and be more careful? This ain't his first offense either, apparently so I'm starting to think he's a pedo.

    So yeah. Continue blaming your bandmen's stupid failures on the coo coo fangirls, when the bandmen, the actual adults, should be a lot more careful since their livelihood and freedom is on the line.

    yeah, with the string of arrests and the actual intentional exploitation of underage fans (see: dudes asking for highschoolers on tanuki) at this point you need to do your due diligence. even if it's not a revenge thing no minor's parent would be happy to hear she's banging some colorful NEET and would happily nail your gross ass to the wall.

    edit: wtf the yahoo article says the police talked to him about another matter and then he incriminated himself. so y'all don't have to pity him for getting entrapped by a gya... his dumb ass got himself arrested

    The scene is KNOWN for having too many underage fans;
    The fans are KNOWN for being crazy and doing creepy shit for their favorite musicians;
    Japanese enforcers are KNOWN for taking this seriously;
    There has been SEVERAL cases of colleages being fucked by this;
    There is SEVERE consequences for the careers of those who are arrested;

    When you see people making the same mistake for the 14098742109812th time, it stops being something to argue over, the stupidity on that level speaks for itself. If you really wanna bang that suspiciously young-looking girl that bad, ask for some ids and take pictures of it, for god's sake

    here's some more:

    - i kind of resent the fact that goatbed seems to have turned into 'le yaoi visual novel band' in many people's eyes in recent years & nothing more
    - i'm not sure how unpopular this one is, but i really don't feel gossip at all. i feel like that one [vanilla] band (or w/e their name was, idr) did that whole *listens to old gazette ONCE* """""homage"""""(ripoff) thing better
    - tribute bands/cover bands are generally fucking useless. unless they actually put some sort of twist on the original, i'd rather just... stick to the original, boi
    - there are only like 6 genuinely good shironuri style bands i can think of, for all the others it feels like people mostly seem to like them solely based on rarez cred
    - not sure how unpopular this one is at this point in time either, but i feel like vk should stray more into math rock/post-rock/shoegaze/idm/hip-hop & other territories that are 'unconventional' for the scene. i'm 100% sure a lot of people would shit on it because 'muh screams' or 'muh symphonic metal,'  but it'd be a breath of fresh air... (imagine a vk country band or something lmao)

    Hello everyone! I found this forum looking for information about some new bands. I was really surprised because it seemed like Visual Kei was not popular anymore, so I felt like I should join! I first became interested in V-kei in 2005 when I did my first study abroad, though I stopped looking for new bands a few years ago. My favorite band is Merry. I got to see them live for the first time last month in Nipponbashi and have tickets to see them in Tokyo again during Golden Week!

    I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning about some newer bands. So far I've started listening to 0.1g no gosan and Xaa Xaa, as well as learned that many of my old favorites are now disbanded. Sho ga nai.

    I hope it's not bad if I revive this thread because HOLY CRAP how did I miss this???

    Back when I was a fetus and probably too young to be on the Internet, I would scour fanfiction.net and quizilla (RIP) for HOURS reading anime and Pokémon fanfiction.
    Hell, when I was in elementary school, I was writing my own fanfics, series and such and I would hide them from my parents and blush madly when I attempted my first smut (in middle school..god I was such a bad kid).

    When I first got into Jrock and visual kei, I think most of my passion for fanfiction died because I had started rping instead and I had met some of the most amazing people.

    As far as my preferences for fanfics, I do like angst and I admit, I'm a sucker for vampires, only if it's done to my taste. The same goes for smut which I'm VERY picky about. I guess I write enough butt sex and similar scenarios that seeing it written out kinda makes me yawn. I also tend to stir away from fanfics of popular bands such as the GazettE, Mejibray, etc. because I've had so many of those pairs spewed in my face that I'm tired of it. I like crack ships (as long as they aren't ridiculous)

    I haven't written a fanfic in ages and I just came across my old naruto fanfiction stash which is...embarrassing.

    PLASTICZOOMS - PLASTICZOOMS

    Disclaimer:

    1) This is actually my first time listening to PLASTICZOOMS seriously, so this is probably really objective...nor can I cite or compare any of their other previous works

    2) I don’t know much musical lingo, despite being in band/orchestra for 4 years. So I’m not gonna get all complex, though I wish I could

    3) This is my first review. Have mercy on me please (but do give me critiques and/or your opinion on the work too!)

    Let's get started!

    Frontal Attack: Every time this track comes on I just smile some to myself. It sounds so...spacey and weird, but I think this it works well. As the song progresses, more things are added from extra beats, to the guitars, and finally Sho. So as an introduction, I guess it gets the job done as an “SE” of some sort.

    The Future: It’s a good transition from Frontal Attack. The track itself is..quite alright. It doesn’t knock me off my feet, but it’s definitely something I don’t mind hearing when it comes on shuffle. The guitar solo part is pretty darn cool though, and I love to hear the drums in that part too. The rough vocals Sho uses near the end is a nice touch too.

    Quite Clearly: This is the song that I liked at first, but then I listened to it more afterwards and felt kinda meh towards it. It has it’s redeeming values, but quite clearly, it’s meh to me. hAH

    Minds: THIS IS THE SONG THAT I HAD STUCK IN MY HEAD THE ENTIRE WEEK. It’s beautiful, and I love the little melody that comes up in the background occasionally and the slower part before the chorus...omg. I like the female voice along with Sho’s, but I feel in short moments it overpowers his voice somewhat (that may be because of his accent though). This was the song on their album advertisement, which was the only reason I decided to check this out actually!

    HIGHWAY: The other song I had in my head this week..I dig the vintage feel to it. When I was first dipping my feet into PLASTICZOOMS’ music, this was really the only title track song (aside from P A R A D E ) that really stuck out to me. The chorus is catchy af and i find myself singing along each time. I love the part after the last chorus..just gold.

    U12: This is the “jollier” song on the album, and it still hasn’t grown on me yet. The bass in this song is pretty great and the part just with it and the synths is fairly cute.

    Night & Hurt: Aaaand we’re back to the darker stuff. The weird voice/vocals in the background and the occasional spacey sounds (return) really add to the mystery in this song, Sho’s voice in some parts sounds really..I don’t think creepy would say it, but like some evil overlord that's commanding the peasants (or something). I still feel so-so with the song in general, but it always feels so short when I listen to it.

    Smoke Motion: I don’t know why this reminds me slightly of Quite Clearly, but it does. I think the effects in this song is interesting though, and has me tapping my foot along to the beat at times. This song does a lot and I feel it took me a while to take a lot of in. I daresay this is probably the most “experimental” song on this album...oh and the drums at the end reminded me a bit of the ones in THE NOVEMBERS’ Romancé and I was like “cool, I love this effect!”

    Veiled Eyes: Ah, the other title track. This is the first song I heard by PLASTICZOOMS (I think), and it didn’t woo me off my feet. It still doesn’t. Honestly, they could’ve chosen Minds as the other title track, even it kinda was the promo song.

    Breitenbach: I love, love this track. I think it’s a good song to end the album off with. It’s just so pretty, from the piano, the occasionally ornamentations, and the guitars.

    Ending thoughts: I’m still getting used to Sho’s accented English, so I couldn’t decipher a ton of what he was saying, but I think it would’ve helped with my interpretation maybe. I don’t know if this was the best album for me to start with, but it wasn’t bad. I think the order of the album is pretty good, though U12 threw me off when I was first listening to it. In the end, I will definitely be looking more at their discography, since I really like their sound !

    Least Favorite Song?: Veiled Eyes
    Favorite Song?: Minds, duh
    Runner Up?: Breitenbach

    Most of us have gone through this phase. Obsessed with The GazettE or any other overrated band. Those times you went full-blown fujoshi with your vkei ships. When you only liked those 2-3 bands and was totally clueless in terms of everything else. When you called your ultimate bias your husbando or even tagged their supposed last name as your own.

    If you're still in that phase, it's okay. If you never went through it, that's totally fine.

    Please share your experiences or things that you have witnessed newer jrock/vkei fans saying or doing that just makes you flat out cringe or laugh.

    Tiny disclaimer: I'm still a newb myself compared to the majority of the people on this forum, but since I've been trapped in a groupchat filled with even newer listeners, this has really been on my mind as of late. EDIT:
    My favorite bands are Dir en grey, Girugamesh, D'espairRay, Mejibray, Dadaroma, Vidoll, exist+trace, lynch, Byakura, OZ, Malice Mizer, sukekiyo, Sadie, Diaura, Juliadoll... Just to name a few, 'cause the list of bands I like/regularly listen to is literally endless.

    I came to find out about Visual Kei because of 2 things; one, Dance Dance Revolution and two, anime (I swear it makes sense once I explain how that lead me to it). So back in 2001 I used to hang out in the mall at the arcades and spend a lot of time playing DDR; I eventually made friends with a few kids that went every weekend to play as well, some were  just a bit older than me, like 12 or 13, and they watched anime on cable TV all the time, it was like, "the cool version" of cartoons. I did get to watch anime sometimes but only whenever the local channels aired anything and that wasn't too often. But anyways, I loved Sailor Moon and so I kinda knew what anime was (didn't know it was called anime or anything about it but whatever, you get the point) and I wanted to watch more so I started hanging out with some of the kids at their places. So after a while I knew what anime was and I became more interested in Japanese stuff aside from Sailor Moon, like Hello Kitty or Pokemon cards or Street Fighter games.
     So far I haven't explained shit but the point in that was that the DDR made me meet anime fans who sort of exposed me to Japanese pop culture or whatever, so that built a foundation. At that time I had bought a Limp Bizkit CD because the guy I liked listened to Limp Bizkit's Chocolate Starfish all the time and laughed at me in his birthday 'cause I didn't know who Limp Bizkit were. I actually liked their music but didn't know how to find a CD! Anyways, I managed to buy a pirate CD that summer and that took me to trying to find more "heavy music" CDs. I asked the guy that sold the pirated CDs for something "heavy and loud" and that's how I started listening to Marilyn Manson and Metallica (yeah, WTF right? Amazing combination). I loved Manson's look and of course my parents couldn't believe the kind of music I was digging. They didn't oppose too much though, so I kept buying CDs that summer, some I liked, some I didn't (I hate ACDC but I got them, HATE Bon Jovi too but got one of his too... I did enjoy Korn and Aerosmith sometimes, both recommended by the pirated CDs people in Chuy). So there I got the liking for weird clothing, I'd see Manson and think "guys wearing make up? well that is ok and looks cool actually", I liked "dark" styles and loud music.

    And then, it finally happened. In 2003, I made a friend named Pablo (who I am eternally grateful for showing me the way) who was hardcore into Japanese stuff. Including music. I had never heard of a Japanese rock/metal band. Only anime openings and DDR songs in Japanese were "Japanese music" for me. He was one of the few lucky people to actually have internet access at home that you could use to download shit. He had found Japanese bands in a sharing program named ARES, maybe some of you remember or even used that thing... it was amazing! So anyways, at the time I was hardcore into Lacrimosa and Rammstein, so he shared the video for "Beast of Blood" with me and I was like "WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?! ARE THEY REAL???? LIKE, OMG THEIR LOOKS AND THE MUSIC IS THE SHIT". And then a few days later he comes and gives me a burned CD with the tag "jrock and visual kei" and that had some songs by X and Larc en ciel (Endless Rain and Stay Away), another Malice Mizer song (Bel Air), a song from another band I can't remember and 2 songs from THE BAND THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING lol; Macabre (the song, not even the album, JUST THE ONE SONG and the actual PV for Cage in THE MOST extreme shit quality ever seen by my eyes. I would play these songs on repeat ALL FUCKING DAY, no kidding. My dad even confiscated my DISCMAN (oh shit) more than once because I would be plugged into it ALL DAY LONG. Pablo, being the best person ever, actually found and downloaded Gauze and Macabre for me and then I begged my parents so much for internet that they actually got us internet and I searched for more music constantly in Ares and the then using torrent sites.

    Fast forward to 2005 on, I became addicted to anything Visual Kei I could find. By 2007 I had cut my hair Vk style, would do my make up Vk style, would worship bandomen and receive criticism from my boyfriend's goth friends 'cause "my idols were just copying goth bands and it was lame" and basically facing the issues of a South American Visual Kei fan; you have no access to nothing, nobody likes or even knows about Vk, you parents don't understand why the people on your screen look like ladies but are all men and you keep saying they're not trans they're just "VISUAL KEI" and nobody gets what the fuck that is anyways. on 2008 I had managed to either meet a few other people that liked Vk or meet people that still didn't and after showing them they were like "yeah I dig this", and so the forum jmusicuruguay.tk was created. 2009 I attended my first concert and that was Dir en grey in Santiago, Chile, probably one of the happiest days in my life (like, it's hand on hand with their 2011 concert in Buenos Aires). I have a huge poster on my wall and I don't get tired of staring at it and reading over and over again "All Visible Things Tour". Fast forward to today, I'm close to being 30 fucking years old and I enjoy Vk more than ever I think?

    I like other styles, I am a big fan of Lacrimosa, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, The Strokes, The Black Keys, Deftones, Silversun Pickups... But there's nothing like watching some hot dudes with their faces covered in makeup that's always on point no matter what and their hair is perfect and their costumes/clothes are always the shit and on top of that they can play instruments and (sometimes) sing and some are actually very fucking good and it's all so ridiculous that Japanese people out of everyone in the world created this shit out of some other shit some mad English people passed on to the Americans for them to make some updates to it and at some point the weirded out version got spread to Japan and it all ended up in this. On the other side, only in Japan you get the kind of things you get so it makes perfect sense, right?  Whatever, that's my story. Sorry for the long post.

    YES YES YES! I could write an essay about "my fav can do no wrong uwu" visual kei fans that will reach so far to defend literally anything, but especially nazi symbolism. Goddddd how blind of a fangirl do you have to be to defend the nazi uniforms or even be like "oooooh I love a man in uniform" like... a nazi uniform tho???? Then they always try to back it up with like WELL CULTURALLY, IN JAPAN like I don't even care about that. I want to know why you, as an American or European fan, are defending this. One of my biggest peeves in visual kei because I never realized this was a big thing and then I was like "wait you guys are okay with this? really???"
