togz reacted to Tetora in Show Yourself (again)
Lol, Ricchu's pic is so funny.
I was supposed to go out tonight but fell asleep and am looking through my photo albums, gonna post some pics of me and my crew to share.
Think I may have to cut hair and change weight soon so I was documenting current appearance:
Annoying cat I take care of always lays in my clothes, including underwear and socks, if he isnt there he is in the bathtub.
My true cat, found in the wild, but dont live with her anymore. The black and white one. I love her more than anything. Here she is cleaning another cat from the wild she helped raise pic taken at the house she stays at.

togz got a reaction from CAT5 in [Band Battle] GALEYD vs. DELUHI
Well, after creating the lynch vs deathgaze thread, I figured why not stir up a real debate for some answers. I see these bands get compared A LOT. After listening to both bands, they don't sounds anything a like. Their guitarists, while both technically skilled beyond belief, have different styles that they in-cooperate in to their music. The vocal styles are really different as well.
GALEYD
DELUHI
Now i can see how they'd fall under the same power metal type sub-genre, however i still think there's some different ideas in there.
I have taken in to consideration that the bands were on the same label and seemed to have the same promotional and marketing techniques from what I can tell.
But sound wise, what are your opinions?

This so much. It eludes me why people compare them so much, other than the fact that they were playing somewhat contemporaneously and their music quality were both a cut above others in that "genre" of music (although it's debatable if they were even doing the same genre).
I have to go with DELUHI. I actually hated metal until DELUHI found its way into my life, lol - they're currently my 2nd all-time fave band. Don't ask me why but Juri's harsh vocals remain the only one I genuinely enjoy (I can tolerate a couple others, but generally dislike most core-ish stuff). I appreciate GALEYD's quality (specifically Meku) - but something about Garo's vocals just don't work quite as well for me (ironically I liked him a lot more when he was in Hi:BRiD).

I'll go with lynch. I prefer lynch.'s earlier output to DEATHGAZE's entire discography. While lynch. isn't as good as they used to be, their average music is still better than the overall below average output that DEATHGAZE has fed us since day 1.

Lynch. because I like metal-core mixed with pop rock a lot more than nu-alt-whatever-metal. Even if Lynch. has been self covering "All This I give To You" for the past 3 years, it's my favorite song by them and I enjoy their predictability from time to time, while their earlier stuff is much more diverse.
The only Deathgaze song I really like is "Evoke The World." 2 brvtal 4 me
With that being said, both bands have points in their discographies in which their song formula is essentially *insert marbles in mouth and growl*, but for DG that seems to be how they actually compose.

With TenTen coming back in My Bacterial Heat Island, which band prior do you think is better? I'm not including Hanamuke or Kiss My Way. They don't have enough material and Tenten really wasn't brought to light in any of those groups as much as CP and Kurt so it's a fight between those two.
CHEMICAL PICTURES:
Kurt:
This is tough. I think Chemical Pictures had some extremely cool instrumentals and I believed they kept up the interest with every release until they ended. Kurt had some amazing songs in the beginning but at the end, they started to slack and the songs were lacking the awesomeness they started with. However, I have to go with Kurt because I believe the song writing was better in that band and I think TenTens voice was perfect in that era. I still have most of Kurt's discography on my computer because the songs were more addictive then anything Chemical Pictures put together. Even though I liked the instrumentals of CP, I felt like every song was just missing a little something that would have taken it over the edge though I can't place my finger on it. Kurt never missed a mark. Even when they were starting to go down hill, it was only at the end and it didn't overshadow the sheer awesomeness they unleashed already. Kurt FTW.

I agree this is totally unfair lol...
KuRt had a raw excitement factor and unpredictability that CP lacked, played less by the rules... but that's not saying much considering that CP didn't either...
Honestly though, I will choose Chemical Pictures on a conceptual basis, the Sekai wo Utta Otoko series in particular, fell too deeply in love with the whole thing.

..... This isn't fair. THIS ISN'T FAIR.
God uh....
KuRt was one of my first vk bands, and really the band that sold me on tenten's voice you know?
I felt like for KuRt's time they had a pretty unique sound, and Tenten doesn't exactly have a typical voice either.
I do have to choose Chemical Pictures on this one simply because I like the more refined sound, and it's alot more mature sounding.
I still love KuRt to the end of the earth and back, but if I absolutely had to choose... I find myself listening to CPS a lot more these days.
I feel guilty for even choosing.

If you want to know a few good headphones in a lower price category, you can always ask Zess, he's the expert. As you might've seen around the Headphones threads on here I used to have a pair of AKGs that were like $40 (and come in like 5-6 different colors, groovy) and produced really great sound. They lasted about 4 years with heavy usage and they have a really good, balanced sound quality for their price range. The only minus they had was what I'd say the obnoxiously long chord and the fact that they'd start to painfully clamp after a few hours of use. Also it took a while for them to be comfortable on your head. In general I'd rate these headphones a 7/10, though definitely a 9/10 in their own price category.
