I'm an anime fan myself .
You went from KPOP to Visual Kei???? Wow, that is rare because we usually see the opposite lol.
Anyways, take a look around, as we've got a TON of topics and current news for you to explore.
If you have any questions just message any Staff Member in Red, Blue, or Green.
Talk to you soon!
Also, don't worry about the spelling, as you're not the only one haha. We'll understand what you mean.

Information for only IKEA and I to know. Please leave my post as it was, a random thought.
Thanks.

Damn it IKEA, you could have just paid my hospital bill but no, you have to make it a big deal.

This topic is starting to feel like a MH tradition now I think haha. But anyways....
This thread is dedicated to Japanese releases in 2019 that the MH Community will listen to and would like to keep track of throughout the entire year. It’s a nice way of referring back to a list, should you forget if you’ve listened to a certain release yet or not. I know I forget sometimes haha. These ratings can also help those who may want to see which releases are favoring well or not, based on each individual user who you may have similar tastes with.
Feel free to set up your own rating system (Stars, ?/5, ?/10, Best to Worst, Oooh to Eww, etc.), but try and use spoiler tags to save room in your post, and save room on the page for the other members’ rating lists.
Keep this list in mind in the event that we, the MH staff, host a JRock Awards at the end of the year .
Last Year's for reference:
Looking forward to seeing everyone’s lists at the end of the year!
Yuyo’s List for 2019:

A part of me is glad that so many of us were able to contribute to this showcasing of 2008's VK, but also sad we left 2006 out of these blurbs. Maybe we can find a way to include previous years in the same format for our newer members here on MH.
Looking forward to what this year brings!

Whoa what the hell? I had to re-read that thread title cuz I couldn't believe it. Definitely not expecting this at the end of the year.

But anybody want to meet in NY!? I usually like to go to NY in the morning and then spend the day roaming around before whatever event I'm going to that night.
I wouldn't count ourselves lucky. After looking at the listings for VIP it seems that it's gonna be the same meet/greet, early access to merch, and gift (probably a shirt again haha). Aside from getting first dibs on merch, it honestly made no difference getting early access to the concert as people were doing what they always do and thats rush to the front of the stage. So I might just stick with general admission this time.
Oh and I'm down to hang beforehand. I'll be there the weekend beforehand vacationing a bit. Maybe if @Ro plz ends up going again as well we can attempt an actual MH meetup this time lol.

OH SHIIIIIIIITTTTT!!!
This time I wanna go to 2 of their shows if I can.

14 minutes ago, chipathy said:Carrying around is more convenient for me but if theres a drastic difference I'm fine with just keeping at home
Well the good thing is that they don't need much power to drive them (only 150ohms) so anything from Fii0 (E10K, A3/5) is fine.
If you want like a nice intro to something for the desk then Schiit is usually a nice option with their Fulla model (Amp and a DAC).
sleepy coffee reacted to this -
Sure. You wanna be able to carry it around or have it kept at home?

Ohhhh you will. Definitely worth their price. You using any amplification for them or?

🎁As an early gift to the community, MH will once again be hosting the MH JRock Awards for 2018!🎁
Now, before you start voting, read the rules provided in the spoiler below, or else Yuyo will ... idk yet but just read it anyways.
SpoilerBefore you cast your votes, take a few minutes to read this, because if you don't follow these rules, the staff may disregard your vote.
1. You can only vote for Japanese Rock artists. However, we use the term "JRock" very loosely and won't reject your vote if you happen to vote for a band that is borderline JPOP or any other related genre.
2. You may provide up to THREE nominees per category.
3. Only releases/events of 2018 (obviously).
4. Since all votes will be made public after the contest, you can explain your choices, but you don't have to. If you do, please make things easier for the staff by following this format: SpoilerGood example:
Best Overall Artist: Sug (Because they are super-kawaiiii)
Bad example:
Best Overall Artist: I want to vote for Sug, because they are super-kawaiiii
Once you have read the general rules, here's how to vote:
1. Copy the list of categories below into your reply
2. Fill in your votes (you can skip as many categories as you'd like)
3. Submit.
(Try to keep your votes organized under spoiler tags in order to save space for other voters)
Your posts will stay hidden until the end of the voting.
Here are your categories to choose from:
Spoiler- Best Overall Artist/Band
- Best Album
- Best Single/Maxi-Single/EP
- Best Cover Art
- Best Look
- Best Newcomer
- Best Veteran
- Best PV
- Saddest Disbandment
- Most Overhyped Band
- Most Overhyped Release
- Most Underhyped Band
- Most Anticipated Release
- Band that Changed their Sound for the Best
- Band that Changed their Sound for the Worse
- Band that you spent most of your money on in 2018
- What the hell were they thinking!? Award
- Best Revival/Returns
Voting will last until Sunday, January 13th of the New Year (2019)
This will allow everyone to take their time, since some of us are still waiting on some final releases to come out this month.
Note:
- "Album" includes both full and mini-albums.
- For simplicity reasons, we follow the "Once Visual Kei, always Visual Kei" rule. So yes, that makes bands like Dir en grey or L'Arc~En~Ciel a Visual Kei band, just for the purpose of this voting.
If you missed/skipped 2017 or are just joining the forum and have never heard of this, then take part this year!
If you have any questions about the 2018 MH Jrock Awards, feel free to contact myself or any of the MH Staff!
Happy Voting!

Ugh shit. More importantly then trying to make an accurate live-adaptation of the iconic anime series, the actors will need to go above and beyond in terms of acting in order to bring any genuineness to this. Never saw the death note one, but I hear the actors made it cringeworthy with their lack of relating any of the personalities in the anime to the live-adaptation.
Honestly, for me the only thing that needs to be considered is how to evoke the same nostalgia that the anime does. Story could vary a bit, and a gimmick here and there during the film is fine, but if you cant sway the anime weebs/otakus from the early 2000's that made CB what it is welllllll then Netflix is in for some shit.
