Them calling it '#5' makes it sound like it's going to be a throwback to their early days, but I can't see that being the case considering what their output for the last few years has sounded like. I'll give it a courtesy listen and hope for the best, but I'm not expecting much.

Have to admit that I'm not as fond of the new vocalist. She sounds like she's trying to sing in the same style as the others that Daijiro has worked with, but her voice doesn't suit that style anywhere near as well.
Musically it sounds fine, though. Still looking forward to it.

I choose to believe that it is, because that would likely mean the album is dropping soon

Album title is 'Culture Vulture' and will be released on 08.30. Tracklist as follows:
01. Massive Passive
02. 色彩 -Album Ver.-
03. ハレルヤ
04. end of refrain
05. loop
06. たりない
07. さよならワルツ
08. Q And A -Album Ver.-
09. 失う
10. ego-izm
11. Reset
12. SelfI'm a little disappointed with this tracklist since only four of them are actual new songs. Tracks 2, 3, 4, 8, and 10 are all from their previous singles while 5, 7, and 12 were all uploaded to Youtube as demos 3-4 years ago. Actually if they were going to go the 'compilation of existing songs + a couple of new ones' route then they might as well have just added earworm and 28時 as well and completed the set.
I'm still excited to hear the new stuff though!

So they advertised their new album with a track that was already featured on a previous album from a few years back. Nice

After five years since their formation, la la larks finally announced at their anniversary show earlier today that they will be releasing their first full-length album sometime in the near future.
No date, title or tracklist yet, but at least they're finally doing something after all this time!

Ooooh, I remember this band! Didn't realise they're broken up, let alone reformed. Looks like they changed their vocalist too; thank fuck for that because their old one was awful.
I don't remember their music too well but I do remember finding them to be one of the only decent non-Japanese VK bands I ever came across minus the shit-tier vocals. Here are a couple of their older tracks if anyone cares to check them out:
Will check out their new stuff if I can get around to it.

Why the fuck are these demos only being distributed at lives? Do they not want my money!? ;_;

Let the scene influence you but to be derivative of a derivative scene is just copycat at that point. Come up with your own fashions. Set your own trends. Learn photoshop. Try not to look like a $5 Five Below reject. Small things would help me to take his opinion even slightly more seriously than I do now.
See, I don't even think that westerners trying to do VK is a problem in itself. I don't see any reason why a westerner couldn't pull off a VK inspired aesthetic, the problem is that those that have tried (at least the ones that I'm aware of) are just crap. Like you suggest, it just seems that most of the western bands that try to pull off a VK look or sound just end up coming across as wholly derivative and lacking in any originality (not to mention musical talent). Then again, I think a lot of the modern Japanese VK scene is like that too, but I guess there are enough bands in the Japanese scene that at least one or two decent ones manage to slip through the cracks every now and then.

Patrik is the one who always dreamed of being Kaoru.

Today I learned that toe is one of my favourite visual kei bands.
Anyway, it's rather amusing to see the sort of stuff Patrik is up to these days. If memory serves me correctly he was always one of the people shit-talking bland, generic, and derivative visual kei bands back when I used to frequent Fukkatsu. Gotta love the irony.

Guess I haven't shown my face for a while.

^Much appreciated!
Seems like Yuki was behind most of my favourites too (Albus, Butterfly in her dreams, ラブレターレイン). That's a shame.

He was actually the only reason I followed HOLLOWGRAM, I am so sad now.
Interesting. Is there a list of writers for each song somewhere? I tend to find myself enjoying some HOLLOWGRAM songs a lot more than the others, so I'm a little curious to see if there's any correlation between the songs I tend to like and the writers. Especially if it turns out that Yuki's the one that has been writing them.

Does anyone know how much of a role did he have in their creative process?

So I may or may not have told @Ito that I would write a paragraph for the OP, then promptly forgot all about it. Oops >_>
Suffice it to say that, almost I'm not the oldest member here, I've been around long enough now to have a special attachment to the community here despite my music taste not always matching up with the majority. Here's looking forward to another ten years of VK memes and glorious shitposting! Who knows, maybe X Japan will have actually released their new album by the time the 20th anniversary rolls around.
