Not at all. Everyone makes out like the band only ever makes clown shit and that they've never been heavy or interesting since the first Dadaism. MOST of their output since then has been great. Sure they've had a few duds, but in VK who doesn't?

I still need to listen to his last one >.<

As an update, Silent Hill 3 is terrifying and I'm pretty much permanently tense whenever I'm playing it. It really gets under my skin, jeez!

I've always loved Shin's voice so it's nice to hear him cover one of my all time faves.
Shou's vibrato is so exaggerated nowadays though, what's with that? He sounds like garbage.
Agreed on the awkwardness of the MV. At least they're not facing each other and doing the same though XD

You are so welcome! It was great to meet you and such a blast to see you enjoy the gig so much 😊

Agreed. Hopefully the next tour is a good mix of material

If anyone needed the info, London had Kodou in the encore. The crowd went nuts for both this and Merciless Cult. Although the tracks from TIW were definitely more preferable live than on the album, the WTD tracks had so much more punch in comparison. The World of Mercy was incredible live.
The band played incredible well with only a few screw ups during solos etc. Kyo was a beast; he seemed to replace a lot of the higher screams with the kind of whistley scream he used at the end of Reiketsu Nariseba which was super cool. As was his repetition of 'London' before the last song which drove everyone wild XD
Best of all was the complete absence of some lame opening act 👍 Also, big thanks to the couple who barged in front of me mid-set and didn't even bop to the music. You suck.
I can't wait to see the band again though! I last saw them when they spent two days in London for the Arche tour so they were definitely worth the wait. I had a great time with the wonderful @TheZigzagoon so we'll have to meet up for the next one! 😊

Agreed, their choruses are getting pretty awful. The song itself is dope though. That lil drum solo is very tasty

Please do this for every live forevermore XD

I've just finished Silent Hill 2. I've played it several times before but I'm emotionally drained. Wow.
I recently bought a copy of Silent Hill 3 after years of putting it off out of fear 🤣 Wish me luck!

Since when were they so metal...? I thought they were quite a unique band sonically but I don't know...this new aural aesthetic just seems generic and lazy to me.

The material itself feels more like a longsleeve, I'd say. It fits really nice in XL and doesn't feel like some oversized, suffocating bag of cloth.
It's a Fruit of the Loom hoodie btw. 70% cotton, 30% polyester.
Also, this was the first time I ever bought something directly from the band instead of second-hand lol
Oh and there's really only the disc in the LP case. No credit sheet, lyrics or anything xD
No wonder they were so cheap.
Thanks! Kind of sounds like how I expected it to be 😕

Ah cool, I'm going too so maybe see you there! To be fair it's a TIW tour so they're pretty much playing the entire album plus one or two other tracks according to recent setlists. I'd listen to their latest single The World Of Mercy if you haven't already. That's if you're just looking to recognise everything they're playing
If you wanted some listening pointers regardless of the upcoming gig, I'd listen to Uroboros (their best 'new' album) and Dum Spiro Spero (not the best but it's like the more technical yin to TIW's simple, explosive yang). This is just a starting point but feel free to DM me

Everyone left the band except him so I assume he decided to do the same rather than carry on alone

I wrote a brief summary (below) in another thread. It doesn't have specific quotes etc but I've lived through this tragedy if that helps? XD
---
-Everyone ditched Aoi (because the music was getting lame) and made a new band, creatively named AYABIE. Aoi stayed on the record label out of a sense of duty?
-Aoi did a poppy solo album and some boring side projects.
-AYABIE released some pretty good shiz. People hate on Yumehito's singing but he's a'ight.
-Everyone left AYABIE except Takehito for various reasons. Maybe it was because of that keyboardist they took on? I think Intetsu quit music altogether?
-I assume Takehito called it a day too.
-They all came back together (including Aoi) to do some one off gig I think? Sans keyboardist I assume. They later announced they were coming back and recently brought out an incredibly forgettable album.

Those tees are truly dreadful. Hoodie it is then. My poor wallet...

Always. We nom on sugary crap to get a dopamine hit but obviously it isn't the real thing so the er 'comedown' hits hard. It's a slippery slope; I ended up eating crap for the entire winter last year and it never made me feel better, just worse about myself =.=
