It was suggested that I pop by here and make a proper introduction. I've  been lurking here for years....like a super long time to the point it's kind of bizarre but made an account finally because I really needed to say something. So hello everyone! Not sure what else to say. I'll  stop being awkward now lol

I disagree. While yes, there are shitty CG films (Cats and Sonic) and yes they look hideous. The problem here is that everyone nowadays just SEES bad CG without realizing that most VFX on screen are great as long as they’re done well. Superhero fights, explosions, crashes, a whole city,etc. It sucks that many talented VFX artists are just cast aside and the shitty ones are given more attention.
 
I’m sort of in the middle. One one hand, I think many talented artists exist in today’s world. On the other hand, it’s kind of hard to call a bunch of abstract shapes art. Then again, I’m not a big art person so I often don’t pay attention to modern art. To say all modern art sucks is an understatement because all the more...unusual arts are just stereotyped for ALL modern art. Same thing when people say “all modern music sucks”, there IS good music, your just not looking for it.
 
Again, I also disagree. IMO, I think that every form of art can have a good political message. I can’t name any paintings or art fitting those messages, but I’m okay with any form of art with a political message. I think everyone can share their political opinions in a respectful non pushy manner. Art is one of them. Sure you can disagree with it, but in my eyes, people who make political art should have a voice even if you disagree with it.

Agreed. You just reminded me of a book I saw in my local bookstore called "Why Your Five-Year-Old Could Not Have Done That: Modern Art Explained". I didn't buy it, but I read some of it in the store and literally every example basically said "well, your five-year-old could have done that but they wouldn't have seen this deep, esoteric meaning behind it". I wish I was exaggerating. I think this picture puts it best.

but seriously SH4 was great

- silent hill 4 wasn’t necessarily a bad game if you think about how being in a survival horror game would be just as stressful as it was to play sh4 at times.  it makes it more of an uncomfortable experience.  not including it in the hd remasters is criminal.
 
- the ost from later silent hill games are a lot better imo.  mainly bc it’s not primarily creaky sounds and things slamming around so i can actually listen to it more casually.
 
- all core title silent hill games have their moments.  purists are lame af.
 
- complaining about how jrpgs have adapted more of an action-based battle system makes you sound like an old man yelling at a cloud.

Honestly, it’s because of Limp Bizkit that Nu Metal became such a hated genre of music. Like there are so many great Nu Metal bands like Korn, Deftones, Slipknot and so much more. 
 
People do tend to think of Limp Bizkit when Nu Metal is mentioned. I can see why there hated and I don’t like them myself. But if you like them, then hey, more power to you

Honestly, Limp Bizkit is the EXACT example of the kinda shit I'm talking about w/ juvenile lyrics ruining everything, instrumentally they're legit quite solid, it's just Fred Durst dragging everything down
 

Only commenting because I've seen the point made a few times, but...casting Ariel, a character whose race plays 0 part into who she is with a non-white actor is absolutely not the same as casting canonically PoC characters with white actors.
 
From GitS to Airbender to everything in between, those are not comparable scenarios and I don't understand how it's hard to see that.

I'd never let my cat be just outside, if I had the possibility. Aside from hunting I also see the other side like people poising cats (and also dogs) and all that crap. Nope. Never. And I'll never understand how people can do this to their cats (I'm on several cat forums and whenever someone starts like "I want to let them outside, they've never been" I'm like "why at all?").
 
Btw. ever lived with a cat that got raw fed? xDD
It's not exactly the same as a cat after hunting but to me it was a similar feeling when mine came to me right after eating. Even though I like the positive aspects of raw feeing.

all of bts’s songs sound like generic radio music.  i don’t necessarily have anything against them, but i don’t get why they’re so popular.
