well, there is sex trafficking but unless you're desperately accepting job/marriage offers from strangers you're not really the ideal victim... tourists aren't the target, instead it's girls in bad financial situations. for tourists the biggest prostitution-related problem is idiot foreigners who go to host.hostess clubs and get ripped off. but i know nothing can assuage a mother's worry easily so make sure you get pocket wi-fi or a sim card so you can check in as often as possible. just be confident and choose a place that you like the looks of because i'm sure you will be fine c:

airbnb is overall an interesting experience. there's a split between families/couples who own multiple properties and rent out the entire house/property and those who rent rooms. i personally prefer entire property rentals because i'm shy, it's private and you really only have to meet the owner once usually.

for airbnb room rentals, reviews are key -- most people are doing this as a business and the reviews should reflect that. it shouldn't be sketchy unless the person has no reviews. it will be closer to a hostel situation where you may be doing some cultural exchange with the owner and other travelers. the other thing about japanese airbnb renters is they're almost always bilingual/have extensive travel experience themselves, you can see this from many of their profiles right away. these people might be extremely helpful to you!

you seem pretty concerned about your safety which is a good thing, but honestly so long as you use your common sense you should have no trouble at all. i'm not sure where you're from but as a canadian (which is internationally considered pretty low crime) i felt 100x safer in japan than in my hometown or current city, lol

you should be fine in any hostel that's not rated horribly on hostelworld.com and you can generally choose a female only dorm. i've enjoyed sakura hostel and quite a few from the khaosan hostel chain. keep your valuables locked up in the hostel and keep to streets where there's people late at night and safety shouldn't be an issue... as a tourist you'll probably be in more crowded places overall. i did airbnb once for okinawa but it can be less set-it-and-forget-it than hostels as you generally have to pick up keys and depending on the accommodation the owner may be there with you and thus you might feel obligated to make small talk... you have to rely even more on reviews when choosing airbnb imo.

if hostels are not private enough for you the toyoko inn is a decent business hotel with a lot of locations as well.

DDRM was a bit disappointingly low key for me too (especially compared to xaa-xaa after them at the show i saw). but i was also really sick at the time lol

?? people use the plugin with their own player to log their music plays. last.fm then charts your plays in a meaningful/easy to understand way. then if you're the type you can use it to participate in communities/find new shit/people who listen to the same shit.

i can only speak for one band but when lynch. does boys only they go balls fucking out judging by the videos, there are dudes riding on each other's shoulders, dudes ripping their shirts off, walls of death, it's pure insanity and mostly the hard songs. i also have a feeling if you are a bandman or normie who is freaked out by gya who wants to actually participate in a live then this is a great choice. then they just do a women's only show so the female fans don't bitch, it's just a regular show...

i found this in the search so sorry for awkwardly answering weeks later, but INFERIORITY COMPLEX and EXODUS-EP are kind of the low points of lynch.'s career imo -- their indie stuff and major stuff from GALLOWS (when they went back to more visual kei) and onward are better samplings
