I just want to say
Because my mother's first language is Chinese, she gets her news from the Canadian Chinese TV channel and free Chinese newspapers distributed at Chinese grocery stores (Toronto suburbs). She is convinced that the American and British governments are paying all of the protesters. Also, because the footage shown on TV are the most extremely violent/disruptive acts perpetrated by protesters, she thinks they should all be arrested/imprisoned and would not be upset if the military rolled in and killed them all.
 
I have to listen to her rant about this shit every day (because it is shown on TV every day). Attempts to set her straight are useless and only lead to more ranting.
 
Propaganda is certainly.. a thing.. even here in Canada. I'm sure nobody is regulating those "news"papers.
 
By the way, I also told her about how ridiculous it is that Xi Jinping banned Winnie the Pooh, and her response was "It should be banned! It is very insult! How would you like it if people compared you to a fat bear!" 🙄 Also, the sickening details about the treatment of Chinese Muslims is "fake news".
 

I came here because Disposable left a comment in my "Isho" download thread hinting about R-shitei hiatus/disband (which was news to me). I regret it.
 
Threads like this are why I don't follow any VK news/social media shit. Apparently Mamo is a homophobic pedophile who has crabs and sells his nail clippings, and I have no idea if any of that is true. I was just thinking in the past few weeks, "Hmm if I cared to follow news/rumours on every VK band member, I bet most of them would be cancelled and I'd have nothing left to listen to"

I think there are still people who don't know about what's going on in Hong Kong. What's going on is not just happening in Hong Kong, but all over the world. Hong Kong is facing China's suppress on stripping off of our freedom and democracy, from little by little to finally revealing its fangs. This is happening to all the places where China's money is involved. The most noticable are China's control on the limitation of creation like Hollywood movies, games, literature, etc.. If we don't fight for it now, we don't want to imagine how it's like to have China fully controlling our city. China's leader, Xi Jinping, is already throwing out bibles from China's churches and replacing them with the book he wrote himself.

I know people did not like their "lack of direction", but I really appreciate a band that can pull off a mixture of genres. I usually get bored of bands that tend to do the same thing over and over. I don't personally have a problem if they want to make a pop single, and then a rock single, and then an album with a mix of both. I know people will disagree with me, but I thought Chizuru is talented enough for multiple styles (or at least, the post-production on his voice is good enough, lol). My preference is not the super-poppy cute style, but I really like his singing in rock-style songs, and his rapping. I hope Chizuru at least continues with doing vocals in a VK band.

@peffy I totally agree with you as well I mean  if a bands singles all sound similar people don't enjoy it and if they like to try new things people don't enjoy it. Just do what your band wants to do and make yourselves happy. It is your project anyway. I loved everything they did BTW

It is a beautiful country (geographically) and I would kinda like to see those mountains and rivers and historical buildings in person, but I am not setting foot there while it's a communist dictatorship.
Besides that, since Canada arrested the Huawei lady, I run the risk of being arrested/tortured/executed for being a spy.

Every time the news mentions the Huawei situation, she starts ranting about how Canada is stupid for arresting her, and China is justified in arresting those Canadians. I've explained "extradition treaty" to her 3 times but she doesn't understand. (She's also very happy Xi Jinping has become supreme leader or whatever, and thinks it's totally fine that Chinese citizens who criticize the government get jailed and worse)

I have been a victim of "minor" sexual assaults. I have never told anybody about these incidents. I fully understand why women who were victims of far worse choose not to speak up. Looking at the results of that shit hearing, I fully understand why women will refuse to speak up in the future about any political appointee. It doesn't fucking matter to the Republicans/conservatives. "How dare you ruin this good man's reputation?" "I knew Brett in high school, he didn't rape me, so he couldn't possibly have raped somebody else!" "Are you SURE it was him? Maybe it was somebody who looked like him." "We can't ruin his life because of one accusation with no evidence. Oh, there are three accusations? We can't ruin his life because of three accusations with no evidence." "THIS IS A SHAM, THE DEMOCRATS ARE DESPERATE, THEY ARE PAYING THESE WOMEN TO MAKE UP STORIES #SOROS!!!!"

Somehow, a dude applying for Supreme Court Justice (or, hell, dude applying for President) is held to lower standards. i.e. NO STANDARDS EXCEPT HE'S GONNA TOE THE REPUBLICAN LINE. The very least you could do is delay the confirmation vote and allow the FBI to investigate. But no, we can't have that either.

Lol, pretty funny to be doing this test after playing some Socrates quests in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, wherein Socrates asks me stuff like whether or not this poor guy should be arrested for stealing a horse (that he needs for farm work to support his family) from a rich guy who has tons of horses. For the record, I chose to let the poor guy go free.
 
I don't know a lot about philosophy in general, so I'm not sure how to interpret this.. I am reminded of that time I did a political spectrum test, and I probably misunderstood some questions because it identified me as an authoritarian communist..

Over the years I have had recurring dreams themed around being hopelessly lost at a school. I walk down hallways, up and down stairs, and between different buildings but I just cannot find the exit.

If you couldn't tell, I hate school and am thankful every day that I got my damn degree.

But most of all, I like how the music can be so different from typical western pop music you'd hear on the radio. I'm sooooo sooooo sick of neutered mass-market easy-on-the-ears songs with pitch perfect singers. I like flawed vocals, painful screams, dissonance.. the contrast between growls & pretty melodies that some bands do very well. I also love the.. aesthetics of the Japanese language when sung, and it's always a special treat when it's contrasted with the occasional bad Engrish line.
