So, in my free time I like to dabble in composition. I don't really have a style yet, as it's just for fun, and I don't know much about music production.
 
I'm gonna start this thread with a song I started like 2 years ago and finally sat down and finished tonight. It's inspired from Castlevania music (specifically the soundtracks that Michiru Yamane worked on - Symphony of the Night, Lament of Innocence, etc.)
 
It starts off like a requiem but climaxes like an overture. If you like organs, harpsichord, and choral music, you might dig it.

Sounds like just about what I expected, but damn he sounds just as good as he used to growls and all. I wonder how much of the songwriting he's doing too because that second song has some real Monsters vibes on it.

Honestly, I don't mind filming from the crowd in moderation. I personally like to record a few seconds here and there to capture the vibe of the concert, but then put it away and enjoy the show. In regards to band's liking/disliking filming, I get that they want their crowd to be present, but I don't know if I like the idea of "because some fans are ruining it, no one can use their phone." I watch a lot of (relatively) smaller acts live and a lot of them appreciate it when fans record videos and tag them on social media. Many of them will repost fan photos and videos too. Heck, one guy I took a photo of used my photo as his artist profile page on his parent label's web shop site:

Haha I THINK I am! But maybe there's something inside me trying to yell help 🤔I've had dreams of dying in the past though and honestly, this was probably one of the tamer ones.
 
In another much bleaker dream (this was after watching a ton of Walking Dead), me and a group were running away from a horde of zombies. We went into this abandoned factory but it ended up being filled to the brim with zombies. We couldn't go back out so we just pushed our way through inside. No matter where we turned there were zombies spilling out of doorways and windows. We spotted an enormous incinerator and it was at that point we decided that was the better way out. So we all walked in, held each other for comfort and had our final moment before someone turned it on.
 
I'm realizing now that I have a lot of burning dreams...

Had a dream I died last night.
 
Me and a whole group of people were standing at the bottom of a rocky valley. There was a sun like object floating above us and as it got closer everyone got pulled up to it. I was anxious as I saw the people in front of me getting engulfed by it.
 
When it finally reached me I closed my eyes. I wasn't afraid to die but it was the anticipation of pain that frightened me. As the light engulfed me though, it didn't really hurt. I lost all feeling except for the sensation of searing on my body. I tried opening my eyes and all I saw was this yellowish/white brightness. And at this point I gave in to the light.

-Met a friend I haven't seen in around 15 years. I was helping him with his break up (the break up did happen in real life but probably a few months ago?) 
 
-Watching a remake of some movie again and again, but leaving early on each time. 
 
-Going to said movie with someone who I knew in the dream but don't know in real life. I think it was a friend in the dream but there came a point where we nervously kissed each other and then she cuddled up to me to watch the movie? (To clarify, this is the kind of relationship goal I have in my head so I guess that influences things!)
 
-I then watched We Are X with my dad (who doesn't understand my interest in VK) 
 
-Digging up the top layer of soil to rehouse it. This layer was totally covered in freeze-dried coffee. I spent time picking out all the worms from each clump but they were more progressively getting more like witchetty grubs? 

So I got to see Carpenter Brut live again yesterday, and not in my wildest dreams did I expect them to deliver better than last year. But they really outdid themselves by a good margin. If the gig in 2018 was a 10/10 (concert of the year for sure), then this was a fucking 50/10. Crazy as hell. I usually hate moshing and shit, but I could not bring myself out of the pit during the gig, nor could any of my mates. Insane. Truly fucking insane. Man, I hope they come back soon enough.

WooOOooOOoo boy. It's going to be a long one. 
 
So the dream started with me my fellow operatives making final checkups on our new, underwater lifts (leading to the top-secret underwater facility duh) before the higher ups came for official presentation. Of course those appeared before we were done and were not impressed, until we told them that these lifts can also serve as air-tight escape pods, at which point they just nodded their heads and left. 
 
Fast forward to us leaving the facility whose exit lead, for some bizarre reason, into a huge mall. The mall that just happened to be extremely packed with people. We decided to disperse and just try to get through the crowd. I got stuck in line going up multiple flights of stairs. At one point I realised that every single person in that line was dressed in different shades of green and they were all obviously waiting to enter some kind of venue.
The line was moving at a snail pace until some commotion started half a flight up, which as a Trained Professional™ I decided to check up on. I elbow my way through the agitated crowd, look down the railing and there a few stories down, in kind of a narrow street alley, walks an African American singer , dressed in green, and you know, singing, and a bunch of people around her are dancing. I figure that's the person all of these people are here to see, and she decided to come down to the masses instead of making them all wait.
I decide to jump through the railing, like, multiple floors down, and land suavely in a crouch between the dancing people. Hell yeah XD I notice they're not all dressed green so I flick some magic at them and they're all in green now. The entire alley looks like a Disney movie set with the singer singing, the crowd dancing some choreographed moves and everyone's obnoxiously happy. 
 
BUT THEN the song comes to an end and the singer runs away like a fucking Cindarella at midnight. I run after her, up some cobblestone stairs leading to a dilapidated castle. When I catch up to her, she's in fact wearing the Cindarella dress and mournfully singing some Disney tune. But since the dress is obviously blue, I once again use my magic to turn it green and I stand there with tears in my eyes because the whole scene is so beautiful and heartbreaking. 
 
BUT THEN SHE RUNS AGAIN, through some old, mossy bridge leading to a huge meadow with a lake in the middle and some more castle ruins. I go to follow her, but I notice a guy holding a huge hammer, trying to follow her also. So I knock out the guy, take the hammer, and catch up to her. She's kneeling near the lake, tears streaming down her face, and trying to destroy a hammer just like the one I'm holding. She notices me and startles. I tell her that I'm not here to hurt her, but the hammer she's trying to destroy is a fake and destroying it is not going to free her. I point to the one I'm holding and tell her it's the real deal and I'll help her destroy it. I also call her Aurora, which is obviously the wrong Disney princess but whatever. 
 
BuUuUuT then, some creepy old man walks up to us, with a THIRD hammer in hand, and tells us that this one is the real one, and tries to take the one I'm holding from me. I call bullshit because I can feel  the magic in the one in my hand and he gets pissed. He throws away the hammer and starts weaving some dark magic. The whole meadow is getting covered with black smoke, at which point Aurora goes to hide somewhere in the bushes, and I try to counter the smoke with my own magic. Soon the entire place is full with black and white smoke as I attempt to suppress the spread of the dark magic. After a drawn out battle, I manage to lock all the black smoke into a ball hanging in the air over the lake, but the combined energies are so intense the thing explodes and knocks us all back. 
 
I lay in the grass, the evil sorcerer defeated. The magic explosion turned the whole sky gorgeous sunset orange and everything sparkles for some reason. Aurora gets out of the bushes, looks down at me with a smile, with that fucking sparkling, sunset-y backdrop and I'm like "god you're cute" and I pass out.

I had watched the episode of the Twilight Zone called "Living Doll" last night and subsequently dreamed about a doll akin to Annabelle with the murderous intent and powers of Chucky. That fucking sucked and I just remember ripping out her heart after crushing her head and burning it on the stove top while there was evil little girl laughter and I woke up.
