22 years ago, on January 24, 1997, DIR EN GREY played their first ever show at Nagano J.
Kyo, Kaoru, Die and Shinya arrived the day before and met Toshiya in a parking lot.
They stayed at Toshiya's parents' house over night and on the next day, they booked two hours in a studio to rehearse.
In the evening, there was an event and the future members of DIR EN GREY performed on stage together for the first time.
Since they had not thought of a band name, they called themselves DEATHMASK and played around four Kuroyume cover songs.
Toshiya also performed with D+L as their support guitarist on that evening.
So since it's already the 24th in Japan, today marks 22 years since the true beginning of DIR EN GREY! 😊

So... no Kuchiki no tou pt 2 then...

love them both and wish this could be a long-time side project with actual music out

But some kpop actually sounds cool, Tsuzuku no longer sings with any type of emotion. But meh more power to him and koichi for having fun doing whatever the fuck this is. It wouldn't be as bad if Tsu- i mean GENki actually sang instead of dryly playing with autotune like wtf,is he not trying to outshine koichi with his vocal talent?? If so its pointless because mejibray solidified their places in some of the most edgiest bangya hearts 

What a horrible tracklisting compared to their last best of. 
 
However, I’m excited for their one-off show. I just wish it was permanent. I miss them. 

SHHH! Don't you know that if you say a band man's name three times they can never return to the land of visual kei1?!?!

In all seriousness though, -OZ- was one of those bands that I thought was at the "top" of the indie circuit. Learning that farming avocados is more consistent and lucrative than being an indie visual kei band man is a sobering feeling...

Reading this made me re-listen to OZ and damn I miss his voice, Natsuki is part of the few vocalist that I wish would have not retired but if he's happier like this it's better I guess, nice to see his face after such a long time! 

Friend of mine was recently in Japan and was watching a cooking show and Natsuki showed up.
Apparently he now owns or works on an avocado farm, if I remember correctly?
