I really don't understand everyone's obsession with Riku. I actually think he wasn't even that good and that Kisaki has worked with better vocalists before in various bands and projects (Jui, anyone?). As some people have already stated Kisaki only worked together with him in two bands and his side projects so there is no "a Kisaki band needs Riku!" rule.

And as mediocre as Lin was with a better line-up this could maybe change for the better. A few Megaromania influences wouldn't be that bad and enchance the song writing and Sui has progressed so much since the days he was in Metis Gretel (which you can't say about Riku) that i am really excited to hear him singing again.

    Hello~
Some time ago I translated all of Madeth gray'lls lyrics to German and reading through those translations again I thought that their stories are so cool I should do it once more, this time in English, and share them with everyone who might be interested. orz
This time I also want to include all the small poems and stories printed on booklets and CDs that aren't directly related to a song and arrange everything in a way to make the tragedy a little more coherent because all the songs are loosely connected.

I'll post every song individually and add a list with the links here to keep things tidy. ;D
The structure is a somewhat chronical order, but if there are multiple versions I'll mostly choose the newer ones, because Hisuis writing improved quite a lot over time. There will propably be 6 acts, even though I know a classical drama should only have 5...

I'd very much appreciate any help finding mistakes. D; Neither English nor Japanese is my native language and the lyrics are so bizarre it's not always easy. Please note that in some songs the imagery and scenes described are very graphic.

Hisui mentioned in Interviews that he started to write grotesque and apocalyptic lyrics after surviving the great Kobe earthquake that killed 6434 people in his hometown, including his girlfriend.

Actually the only bands with both Kisaki and Riku were Phantasmagoria and Lin. Kisaki's 2398356 other bands and projects were without Riku.

I liked Riku but I like Sui even more so.... good for me, I guess. To me Lin could never really reach Phantasmagoria and Megaromania could never really reach Metis Gretel, but I hope the new lineup will reinvigorate things.

My entrance to the Vee kay fandom was pretty similiar to most people's experience here. I was a huge Manga fan back in 2003 and a freaky mallgoth. So when I discovered in manga and anime magazines that Visual kei existed I was immediately interested, because it appeared to be the perfect mix of Mallgoth and Animu. The first bands I bought CDs from were of course Moi dix Mois. I "accidentally" saw their album Nocturnal Opera being sold in the CD section of an electronic retailer. I thought "whoo, that's goffick Vee Kay from Japan, I'm gonna buy it!!"
After this followed CDs from Dir en grey, D'espairsRay, Gazette and Unsraw. I was a big fan from 2004 to ca. 2006, then I had a one year pause. In 2007 I finally got internet (very late, I was 15 I think) and browsed around youtube, watching some Dir en grey PVs. Somehow I ended up watching Aliene Ma'riage and Madeth gray'll videos and I was hooked again. And since then my love for Visual kei (mainly oldschool) hasn't topped.

Okay, here's some friendly advice, since you seem to be new around here. First of all, your sig is far too huge. One of that banners is more than enough, so I changed that for you.
Secondly, while there's strictly speaking no rule against "role play" you will notice that most people will not take kindly to that. Role play is for groups who are all in on the game, in a public forum people will just think you are a liar and a fraud if you claim to be someone you are not.

Thirdly, for changing your username, message a staff member (the users with red and blue names) with your desired new name, and it will be done.

That being said, this thread should now be kept to the original topic alone and any further post about things not relating to the topic will be deleted. Personal messages etc. belong in private messages. Thanks.

    I disagree.
I am a business man, and you do what it takes to win, but this is not how you win.
As for morals, everyone has their own, what matters is standing by them no matter what, which is what seperates the men from the b*tches of this world.
I have seen many different businesses from the inside, and the ones without morals are the ones without balls, and they almost always have more debt than profit in their ventures, though they wont tell you that.
The,fact that these bands are announcing a conditional disbandment shows me they actually dont have what it takes.
I can give examples of real bands that did what it took, like Buck-Tick or Dog in the PWO... Haru put his whole life into being in a band, he used to sleep in lobbies, look all day for band members, give up oppurtunities elsewhere to continue music, etc... These other bands come out with unrefined looks and sounds, then disband after not becoming SID or Alice Nine in six months.
    Just my two cents.

Pushing all wide generalizations in this topic aside about "the scene", the only bands that have done this so far are small indie bands that I don't care about. Facts are that there is no good reason to do this. Let's run down all the reasons I can think of:
We need money to continue functioning as a band!
If you're that deep in the hole, one live where 100 people come to see you isn't going to save you. What are you going to do, continue to ask those same 100 people to play inflated ticket prices to hear you play the same songs until they're done with you? This stopgap measure just doesn't logically flow, so I have a hard time believing bands announce conditional disbandments for the money. If you're in a band as a full-time job, the most important aspect is money management. Poor money management skills have broken better bands than any we're passively alluding to, and honestly a lot of visual kei indies bands tend to focus on visuals before music. If you have more pictures on the internet than songs in your discography,

We want to play in front of a live audience for once!
Too many times I see upstart visual kei bands that I've never heard of before getting upset because they don't have a lot of fans, but every single other visual kei band started in the same hole and worked their way up! The fuck did you think you were getting yourself into when you're in a society based on appearances and you look like you got smacked with a rainbow's make-up kit? It's delusional to think that in eight or nine months you would be selling out a venue because it takes years for bands to do that, and some bands still don't even sell out a hall when they play! What makes your small band worthy to play to a crowded hall other than your temper tantrum on Ameblo? If you want to play to a full music hall, earn it with skill, dedication and patience. And if you don't, you don't.
We don't want to disband! The label is making us do it.
I'll have to let this one slide. Especially since the line where band influence ends and label influence begins is a little blurry. But this doesn't apply in the case where independent bands do this. Then there is no label.
The only reason I can think of is for a band's fifteen minutes of fame. Every band that I've ever seen pull this stunt have disappeared regardless of the outcome. I don't know what they hope to achieve with those fifteen minutes, but I'll let them have it. I'll never hear of them again anyway.

Yeah I suppose everything's a "marketing method" - from conditional disbandments, to someone stealing band funds, to looking for a member who had lost contact. Maybe even the accident that happened to vistlip a few years back was also for "exposure". Although I guess nothing can be the best advertisement than someone actually dying. Right?

I think that's nothing short of offensive to fans who are genuinely concerned about wtf happened.

Supporting the music you like/love is wonderful, but as many have noted already, buying all of the merch/CDs in the world does not mean you get to control the will or fate of the band. If the band is going to change styles, disband, or use their money snort cocaine from the dirty asses of prostitutes - that's simply beyond your control. It's a bit egotisitcal to think that you own a band because you own their CD, or to think that a band has to conform to your whims because you spent money on them.

You see, there's this wonderful thing called "free will" - so if you like it, feel free to support it - if you don't like it, you don't have to support it.
