  1. Not sure what to think about these yet as the preview is rather bland, though their looks are interesting. The face chin mask is really old hat (and it originally came from the Manga kissxxx, since then 100 VK bands have worn it. I agree that Kiwamu is rather creative-less tho). Their costumes really remind me of Grieva as well, which isn't so surprising as the costume maker is the same.

  2.

classic gothic punk from the early 80s.

ALSO are a highly underrated gothic rock band from the 90s. Some of their tapes were remastered and can be bought on bandcamp, it also seems they are active again under a new name.

A new and recent discovery, Killing Time are a russian post-punk/goth rock band. There is a lot of good stuff coming from eatern europe right now (as there have lots of jewels from poland or the soviet union in the past before as well).

Another russian goth band that's good:

  3. Glad the Avatars are now bigger. Things look much better now. However on mobile I don't see the Monochrome-heaven banner (or is this intentional?)

Also did the function to view all status updates vanish? You can only see the recent ones

  4. Continuing on the debate about AINS, Kuroyuri's sudden member change and departure from the label does possibly count as well. Considering that Yukika is just as cunning as Kisaki it wouldn't even come to a surprise if it's revealed that AINS was doing shady business.

To me personally the sudden deaths of VK bandomen were really shocking (Daisuke, Yuuze, Isshi…)

  5. I hope it's possible to get larger Avatars in the future, as well as being able to disable the scrolling banner (it just really bugs me and takes up unnecessary space.)

Is it normal btw that I don't see any status replies and have to click on the users profile to see them?

  6. Kagerou were really amazing. One of the first VK bands I listened to back in the day. Also one of the few groups who changed their style a lot, yet it never made me cease to like their music. Punk, ballads, Nu Metal or fast tempo songs, I like them all.

I didn however stop listening to them after Daisuke's death. I don't know why, but suddenly it was really strange to listen to his voice and knowing he was dead. Recently I got back into them. Still sad that the we will never hear more of them or Daisuke's voice.

  7. I don't recall any of us claiming that any forum members were chastizing others. It was merely a statement drawn from a general experience among peers.

Thanks, Lestat. I wasn't talking about anyone on the forum, nor was my post intended to attack anyone either, so please chill, CAT. I am not even getting how you were reading that in my text. Maybe it's another case of internet based misunderstanding.

But I was merely sharing my real life based opinion on this matter. That's what this thread is for after all.

  8. I hate beer, wine, vodka… I hate all kinds of alcoholic drinks. Don't like the taste of it at all and the burning or warm feeling in my throat reminds me of heartburn. The only things I can tolerate are those soft drinks with little alcohol, because they taste mostly like normal lemonades.

I don't care of that's lame. My rule is: if I don't like it, then I don't consume it. Also my only drugs are music, drawing and chocolate.

  9. I agree, Ains would have been the perfect label to pick up AvelCain's leftovers and Sibile. At least on that label groups seem to survive despite the odds (loosing band members and stuff).

I was feeling the disband would happen sooner or later after lycaon broke up and after all the shit I've read about the record label. Sad, but predictable. I guess we can now all say goodbye to Sibile too.

While I am not a fan of all of their songs, AvelCain had a good run and brought some nostalgic mid 00s VK feels back. Plus I really liked their visuals. I want Zen and Karma to go on. Never cared as much about Kaede (sry) or Byou (what did he do anyway? Feels like he only played on a few lives and maybe 5 songs)

  10. I remember before he went on hiatus with his solo project he announced a release (Mini album?). I was really disappointed that there would be nothing new from him, since his singles were all really great. Good to see that he decided to make new music again *_*

  11. I am a hardcore fan of the early X-files seasons and so far I didn't like the first episode of the new season. I haven't seen the other one(s) yet, maybe they are better. Though the problem is, that I have never been a fan of mytharc episodes in the first place. I am more interested into seeing creepy mutations, monsters, supernatural powers than big-eyed aliens.

Episode one moved very slowly, didn't reveal much new information. I can understand why they did it, mainly as an (re)introduction, but still… now I hope the producers had learned from their past mistakes (season 9, ugh) and will do it better.

I also recently finished Luther and well, I also don't get the hype. To be honest, season 2-3 had so many blatant plotholes it's a wonder how they managed to get so much praise. Feeling most of the positive reviews came from Idris Elba fanboys/girls. Well, at least it was not as illogical as Heroes… still bothered me though, because it really looked like the writers were thinking their audience was stupid.

  12. Almost all of the not so serious, funny VK bands have great and comedic lyrics. See La'royque de zavy. :D I also find most of Yuuga's (Devil Kitty) lyrics to be amusing.

On a more serious spectrum, I like most of the lyrics by the late 90s Nagoya bands, particularly Phobia and Merry go Round (I wish there were more translations of songs from the latter.)

Surprised no one mentioned Hisui/Madeth gray'll yet. From what I have seen their lyrics may look very edgy and angsty, but upon closer look they turn out to be very beautiful – albeit macabre – poetry.

  13. @ Carmelzors

Well, isn't it already fact, that the japanese public had a negative view of VK already long before this scandal (which isn't new, considering how often that shit must have happened behind closed doors)? VK guys have always been considered to be dangerous delinquents and there was a time when VK had much more mainstream coverage than now. And with the bangya craze taking new, more crazy forms since the dawn of millenia bandomen also are now mostly seen as pussy chasing creepers too.

Others than that I would not jump to conclusions and blame anyone for doing anything until we get more infos and evidence about the case (if it will be made public). Without it we can only speculate what really happened here.
