This list cracked me up. Nice work, there are definitely looks that deserve to be discussed. Maybe some of these bands should have had discussions about them beforehand.

As for the poll, I put kinda. I will listen to a band with crappy looks if I like the music, and likewise, I don't care how nice their look is, if the music is shit, I'm out. Too many bands put way too much effort into their image to make up for the fact they can't play their instruments, and I hate that the scene has pretty much become a catch-all for subpar musicians like that.

I'm here extremely late for all of this.

The album Peels Off will come in  2 versions: regular CD album available nationwide January 24th, and a limited edition LP+T-shirt bundle through Tower Records on January 17th.

I saw the news first thing when I woke up this morning, it's early evening for me now and it still hasn't really sunk in. He always seemed like the kind of person who was able to conquer whatever mountain he decided to climb. It's so sad to see he was hurting for so long. I hope he's at peace now, I'm gonna miss him.

Basically same thing as @Zeussaid. Losing all the info on that site would be a gut punch to the historians of the scene.

I guess that won't happen. There is nothing written that the site will be deleted. Only that the site will be go on a break this January. 

It's more of a fear of "worst case scenario" thing. Hopefully you're right and he is able to return like he says. 

Kinda sad that sample songs goes off the rails in the second half. I was digging the beginning. 

Temporary Residence has some great pressings of ENVY and MONO for people looking for their back catalogs.

Topshelf doesn't stop at MotKs and toe, they also have LITE (I have the LITE/MotKs split and it's lovely) and tricot.

But if we're including Japanese pressings.... I've also bought MUCC, the fin., and Crystal Lake albums recently from CDJapan of all places.

If their label still owns the rights to their songs then yes, it would go to the label. Usually a contract runs out at some point though (but I'm not an expert in Japanese recording contracts tbh) and after that the song royalties would go straight to the artist themselves. But like mentioned above, if you can buy it direct from his website that would benefit them the most.

Just heard them for the first time today, was enjoying them too... welp. 

I'm gonna be unpopular opinion and say I'm fucking here for that Daikirai cover, but I'm a big fan of TOC so I was expecting something weird. All the ones I was initially excited about, pretty much lived up to expectations so far. I'm sorry I doubted Merry in this, theirs and Junko Yano's covers also gave me life. Really looking forward to this.

Songs sound lit, I hate the crazy amounts of reverb/echo on some of the vocals though (excluding the chanting).

Don't let a simple drummer ruin the band for you though. The guitarists, bassist, and vocalist all seem nice enough. And I bet they could do well without Issei's dumb ass

I respect what you're saying, but it's not ruined because I wasn't into them yet in the first place. I only had a piqued interest and they've let someone ruin their image. If they kick him to the curb I'll come back. I really don't like dealing with bands who have this kind of drama surrounding them. It's not fun for me.

I was just talking about how I wanted to check out more from this band last night, but after reading all of that lol nevermind.... 

That's so immature and terrible. If he really felt that way about it he should have simply asked to take it down and not commented further if she followed instructions. He sure thinks a lot of himself. Yikes.

Not the biggest fan of the lead track... but I'm not crazy about their ballads in general. They're okay but feel a bit one note compared to their other songs. It's probably intentional but *shrug*. 3rd track sounds interesting, I'll be looking forward to hearing the rest of the songs.

This is cool if Die keeps a rotating line up. At least it gives me a reason to keep checking them out.
