Some of my spring/summer faves:

I don't have numbers but I remember A9 growing in popularity pretty fast too. They were already working with PSC and King Records within a year of forming. 

I'm not super impressed with Diavolos, I mean- it's not bad it's just not anything new for them, I'm hoping the other two songs will be better. It's cool they finally got Rou on a song, though. That's been a long time coming.

Girl groups always coming in strong during summer and I ain't mad at it.

I'm enjoying the new RV a lot. <3

I wish I had something more interesting to add to this but I found myself nodding along to basically everything you said. Since it was a small (second) intro for X to the American market I'm not too surprised they didn't delve into explaining vk, or that the only parts of the Japanese rock scene in general were to prop X up as their champions. It was fluff but it was nice to see fluff relevant to my music tastes.

Pretty much me. I was interested in a lot of bands in the late 90s/early 00s but Diru were one of the few constants that stayed with me.

I remember him talking a lot, "you are Merry's sixth member!! 8D" it was cute. lol I'm sad I missed the furi since it wasn't in Japan not many people knew it (and 10 years ago we didn't have as much access to learn it anyway. >>;; ) but I bet it was fun. Merry have so many songs at this point knowing them all is a feat for anyone. X"D I have fallen way behind on their recent work but this has me excited to go catch up now.  

Welcome! VK may not be as popular as it used to be but it still has a strong standing here! I got to see Merry about 10 years ago when they played in America. They were great, Gara is so intense on stage I really loved it. How did you like getting to see them?
