COUNTLOST - 1981 (Digital copy and uploaded here)

I feel bad voting this way, but I went with Kuroyume because I haven't listened to much SADS at all. I always heard so much more about Kuroyume influencing other bands I listen to (and their Kuroyume cover songs) that I just kinda stopped there.

I added this to the release list a few days back. I wasn't sure if anyone cared about them here, but I love them. And I'm super excited about this. I wish it as another album but, something is better than nothing!

Don't be embarrassed. You just made me fall in love with that cookie song!! hahaha. Someone recommended it at 1.5x and my life will never be the same. XD I like about half the artists on your list too. The others I've just not heard of before. マキシマム ザ ホルモン - "恋のきなこ私にください" MERRY - "そして、遠い夢のまた夢" NK - "(Interlude)" TRANSLATIONS - "Superhate (feat. Ryo)" BUCK-TICK - "カイン" LM.C - "Z-MAN" In This Moment - "Closer" (Nine Inch Nails cover) 兎-usagi- - "NEVER CHANGE" 12012 - "睡蓮" exist†trace - "KNIFE" I think this might be the most Japanese playlist I've gotten so far here. A couple of heavier songs but most of this list was actually quite pretty and mellow. I enjoyed it. Usagi gets it just because I love those foos. And Nezaki's voice makes me happy. No links today because I'm too tired to look things up.

I love this in the same way I love Maximum The Hormone. It'll be fun sometimes, but I probably won't be able to tolerate it for extended periods. But on the first listen I really enjoyed it.

Even though Emarosa fox matches the new shiney name color... probably gonna get a worth avatar for the occasion. *happy dance*

Awww yisss. I still love your song choices! I know what I'll be jamming out to on my ride to work this morning. Same minimal critique as before that once you got these songs down to work on expanding your picking technique so that you can add more nuance to your playing. You're rockin' it out and it's great! Keep it up.

Whoa! One of the last bands I would expect to do anime songs. When the clip first started I wasn't sure what to think but then some classic SiM came in too, so I'm eager to hear the rest of it now. Anime doesn't look half bad either. I see its the same studio as Tokyo Ghoul and I've seen that just about everywhere so I'm guessing there'll be hype. Not to mention the title made me think of Shingeki no Kyojin straight away.

Withering to death for me was the best and most played in my library. It had a little of everything there and just a great energy (and live it was just as good if not better!!). Gauze would be my close second since that was my introduction to them and I have so many nostalgia feels attached to it.. After Withering I've had a hard time enjoying their music. I like catchy Dir en grey, what can I say? XD

You're not alone there, it seems to be the common consensus that they've gone downhill since Zion (and to others a steady decline since their first album). But I'm not afraid of them leaving the metal genre... so maybe that's why I'm more optimistic? ^^; However, Madness left a LOT to be desired in either genre and like I said before, I can understand why a lot of people are disappointed with the direction they're taking. You hit the nail on the head with what they're emphasizing now, it was all Ken, Teru, some bland riffs and a basic drum beat. It just feels like they wrote that purposefully holding back to me. But maybe that's just how my brain is trying to rationalize it.

I don't understand why CD artwork got bashed so hard when it's normally the same as on the LPs these days. I maybe understand your problem with it being smaller.... but wow that was kinda harsh. ^^; I grew up with vinyl and cassettes, and I think the people who are more attached to them are going to be old enough to have valued them growing up. I really like vinyl but I also have the issue of it simply taking up too much space. So CDs win out for practicality, more selection, and and I don't find the difference in sound to be a very big deal. Vinyl comes in second, and tapes third because I never really liked tapes to begin with. I only bought them out of necessity and, like CDs, at the time they took up much less space. I do however miss the hell out of making cassette mixtapes for other people. So much love went into those! haha.

It's middle of the road for me. I was hoping it would grow on me but I find it kind of forgettable. I'm hoping the other songs on the single have a little more oomph to them. I do really like Ken's cleans in the verses, but thats about the only parts of the song I enjoy. Tatsuya and Hiroki feel like they got put in the backseat and told to keep it lowkey this time around, and the drums are a huge factor for me in what keeps them equal parts metal and electronic. But they really upped the electronic parts in this to where all I walk away with is the vocals and synth. Guitar riffs in this weren't as catchy as some of their other material either, so that also left things fairly lackluster for me. Maybe all of those teasers made me expect something way more epic. Overall, I'm just hoping this was a test for Sony to water them down a bit and see what crowds react to it so they know how to market them since this was a debut single... but it's too early to tell. I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet, and I don't find the song to be so bad I can't listen to it or anything, it's just not gonna be on heavy rotation in my playlists.

Sorry to hear it wasn't quite a simple reinstall. Good luck with the lab, I also hope it's not too serious (or costly) for you.

Cool, thank you. Sometimes I really don't have the money to buy the CD + shipping. Also, sometimes I have too many albums on my wishlist so instead of only purchasing 1 hard copy, I buy 3-4 digital versions so I can support multiple artists. I dunno, it works for me. So in that case, recent digital purchases include: Emarosa - Versus (album) Melanie Martinez - Dollhouse (EP) In This Moment - Sick Like Me (single)
-
Most of my purchases are digital, not sure if that'll be relevant to the thread if we're looking at physical copies. But the bast physical CD I bought was Avokan's album. If you like old Crossfaith, there's a lot of influence in their music. Also my 2PM grand edition of "Go Crazy" is in transit. So that counts, right?
