the GazettE have a large enough catalog of music that they appeal to a large number of people with equally vast musical tastes. Finding out which album is their "best" album has always been a source of heated discussion in the past. But for this new thread series I'd like MH fans to explore just what makes one album better? Why does this album appeal to your more than the other? Pitting their first and last albums against each other seemed a tad too unfair to both sides, so we'll be starting this discussion somewhere in the middle. The challengers: NIL vs DIM Each album represents a specific style "era" for the band, and each one welcomed a new wave of fans in its own right. Which one do you prefer and why? Feel free to give an overall opinion, a track by track breakdown and rating, or anything else you feel is relevant to this discussion. Just be respectful of each other, please.

Jessica's accent is German. Not Russian. lol. Coven is my least favorite AHS, they just threw away all the plots half way through and it felt so cheap. It could have been epic but just ended up rather abysmal. The first episode of Freak Show promises a lot, so I hope they can keep up this time. Seasons 1 & 2 remain my favorites, and will be rather hard to top.

I'm not crazy about the single, either. Major disappointment (pun intended!). I find little glimmers of cool things in Madness and S.O.S, but it sounds like they have a way to go before they make this new style work for them and feel genuine. I don't mind lighter styles of music from bands that used to be heavy. However, it has to feel like a natural progression and this single just feels really forced to me. I agree it's probably due to Sony (I felt that way from hearing Madness the first time anyway). This won't be getting many plays in my lists, but I'm too stubborn to let 1 mediocre single wash away 4 albums I thoroughly enjoyed. I'll wait to see what they do on their next album.

This will be my new favorite thread. I can feel it. XD

The first spot is brilliant. Love everything about it. Second song is harder to gauge. It sounds a little disjointed, but it still does it's job and makes me want to hear the rest of the song.

I began to learn because I wanted a job for an airline but they were only hiring for someone who also spoke Japanese at the time. Where I live gets many Japanese tourists, but very few Japanese people live here. So if you do speak it you can make quite a bit of money, so I decided it would be worth it since I always had an interest in Japanese culture and entertainment anyway.
-
I've been taking formal lessons for just over a year. I've dabbled in teaching myself before that but didn't get very far. I definitely want to visit Japan again, maybe even work there for an amount of time. I'm not sure I'd want to live there permanently. It would really depend on the situation.

1. Do you feel like you are entitled to free music? If you do, why? If you don't, why not? No. I don't think anyone is entitled to free music. We're lucky that people decide to share what they payed their own money for and while I don't expect people to grovel for downloads, being mildly appreciative is tactful. 2. How do you feel about people refusing to share their music because they want to support the band? I respect that as their prerogative. It's their CD, they can do what they wish with it. 3. In relation to the second question, what do you think of people who tell others not to share something they themselves paid money for as they think its content is exclusively for those who paid for it? Honestly, I think its bullshit. I feel like the band/artist is the only one who has a right to say something like this. 4. Do you think entitlement to free music is worse in visual kei than in other communities? No. Its the same everywhere. I just think visual kei communities don't try to hide it. 5. How do you feel about people who deliberately share releases in low bitrates to encourage you to buy the CD? Do you think that if someone does decide to share, you're entitled to the highest rip? I think any bitrate is fine. As I've said previously, it's their own time and money and whatever they wish to share is to the downloaders' benefit. It's better than nothing, right? If it's not good enough for you then don't download it. Simple. 6. Have you ever been approached by people, either on Monochrome Heaven or last.fm, who wanted you to share something? If you didn't want to share, how did they react? What did you think of their reaction? I have. I've been approached on last.fm, tumblr, even weird strangers finding my email address and harassing me there, recently. I usually don't reply to them to spare any kind of argument. If or when I feel like sharing something, I'll make it known. Getting down to brass tacks around here, hopefully people don't get crazy in this thread. lol. In reference to some of kyoselflove's answers. I agree that people who like to rub in other people's faces that they have something other's do not, should not be surprised when those people are sour about it. No one likes a braggart.

girugamesh, Animals as Leaders, letlive. & kiss my way. <3 The Script - "Anybody There" Deftones - "Bored" Kelly Clarkson - "Never Again" NOA - "リトル・ダイバー" Norma Jean - "Self-Employed Chemist" Flogging Molly - "Punch Drunk Grinning Soul" Dirty Old Men - "メリーゴーランド" FAKE? - "TURNING EVERYBODY AWAY" Alice Nine - "聖者のパレード" 2PM - "Heartbeat-Japanese ver.-" I like almost all of these songs quite a lot, but they don't really flow together in this list. lol. Dirty Old Men win out for me. Their music is just so catchy.

I came in learning bands mostly from the 2000-2010 era. Those are still the bands I hold other bands to, so it's definitely that era for me.
-
Good point. I'll stop guessing now and just wait and see. lol

Glad to see I'm not the only one, either! Yeah, I can't speak for him, only the way his voice makes me feel when I listen to him versus how he used to sound to me. So it's all speculation, of course. But something I thought immediately when he did the REDMAN project was that it was a trade off. I guess the next girugamesh full album will show if this was just a splash in the pan or if they are going to press on with this sound. But I think Satoshi's heart is in the poppier music recently, or he just needs a lot more time to adapt to these changes (if I give him the benefit of the doubt).
-
I have the album ripped but I haven't spun the entire thing yet. Now this makes me apprehensive. lol. I had similar feelings about Grown where I loved the video singles but not the album. It does. I've been out of the loop for a while. I need to catch up.
-
I keep listening to the new girugamesh album and it sounds like Satoshi was way more invested in REDMAN than gravitation. He sounds like he's just going through the motions for the sake of the others at this point.
