I'm speechless right now...that was just amazing. I feel like this is a better more fleshed out version of 夢喰い. I love hearing slow songs in drop B...those are like the best in my opinion. I'm under the impression that they too felt that DOS wasn't very structured for the most part and DEF corrected on that on The Swan. I hope its the case for the other songs. Right now THIS is the release to be on the look out for and even if it isn't all that great, I have a feeling it will show growth.
  2. These guys need to stop. That song was posted on the previous page is nothing new.... I will admit they have some bangers but other than that they seriously do nothing that makes them stand out.

DOS was a listenable EP but to me it just seemed all over the place. Its one of the main reasons after I got my brief fill of it, I pretty much left it alone after. However the swan...especially the title track sounds so smooth. I am very hopeful for this one. It seems as if they're progressing, which is actually pretty good. PS I wish they'd get better mixing and mastering on their releases...

Yo....thats VERY worry some. And I'm not even exaggerating things by saying that. Also Ruki's statement as well as the amount of time its taken to flush these recent releases out. Stacked Rubbish was another GazettE release that I believe was wasn't received to highly but even then you can tell they took their time because Imo there's a lot of bangers on that record! No matter how hard anyone tries to justify the recent releases, one year is NOT enough time at all to drop an album. Its evident with TOXIC and DIVISION that what you not only get is recycled GazettE formula but pretty much the same song patterns and chord progressions, just in a different key (man they need to change their Guitar tunings soon because they've done all they can in drop . If my suspicions are correct, based on Quiet and Forbidden Beaver, the two main song writers are getting lazy and this is not a great sign for the band as well as the new album.

That's pretty douchebag-ish don't chu think? It pretty much means all that hard work they've done up to DIM was just so they'd get picked up by SONY or whoever and just drop trying hard on their releases anymore. Hold up, if I'm not mistaken...isn't KING records (the same Label that just recently picked up LYNCH), a major label as well? Yes SONY is more bigger but It seems to me that their creative spark was at an all time with them. Honestly all of the bands recent moves...seem dictated by Ruki. Isn't Kai supposedly the leader? Homeboy needs to get up off his ass and do something...like damn dude AT LEAST give more creative control to Aoi or Uruha because their stand alone songs on the albums surpass pretty much most of what Ruki has the band writing nowdays.

Nah just...nah I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with that. This song suffered what Fadeless suffered from, no real progression. Just the same thing repeating over and over again and the only cool thing about both songs (Which they seem to do ALOT of nowadays) is the octave chords up and down and then back to the root key which the song is based off of. Naraku, which was their last sex song was way more varied than this. And even Sugar Pain, which was even more well executed with that. I'm willing to bet it didn't take much to write both songs.

What do you guys think about this release? I honestly believe this is one of LYNCH's best releases...Its like they've evolved into a legit metal band, which is what I think KING RECORDS is shaping them to be or what they've always aspired to be. INVINCIBLE is my fav track and NIGHT was a sick promo song that legit gives me the Nightime feeling whenever I listen to it. I am so pumped for their new album after listening to this. Amazing job. 9.0/10

Seriously...this release was probably one of their worst since TOXIC. Fadless by itself was just a boring track, and the only bside that was actually worth listening to was QUIET and that song wasn't even all that. Even in the PV the band (especially Uruha) looked hella bored even with all the flashy stuff on. Even though TOXIC was a horrid album, the singles leading up to it were not as bad as this. Hell even RTE was better than this mess. However, Ill chalk it up to this release being just the promo for this album which should be better than this single. I've said this in the announcement thread of this album and I'll say it again since the album is very close: This is the GazettE's last chance to prove if they've completely "sold out for commercialism" due to SONY or if they (everyone else other than Ruki) has it in them to write music that we haven't heard 20 some times before even though they're using influence from NIL and SR because those were really well executed albums. If Beautiful Deformity sucks, its a wrap for the GazettE. Besides the deluded fangirls (yes I'm talking to you), the fans who actually listen for the music will drop like flies.
  9. LYNCH is dominating...release after release...DAWG!!!

About Ruki's statement about the album: This gives me SOME hope. SR is actually the first album I heard from the gazettE that got me hooked on to them back in the day and NIL is another personal favorite. IF what Ruki says is true then I believe we might be in for a treat and I hope he isnt lying. I feel for many GazettE fans or borderline fans...this new album is the make it or break it for them. TOXIC, no matter how many Gazeheads may try to justify it was a complete and utter mess and the above post confirms this regarding the OMEGA live. DIVISION is looked at with a higher bit of regard because it's a more better version of TOXIC. If this new album is anything less than what RUKI is saying then its a wrap. Good game. See you when Sony isn't (excuse my french) Buttfucking you. 3'rd times the charm. They've been hella quiet besides the lives so lets see how this goes. I swear to goodness...if I hear another filth in the beauty/average drop open b/c metalcore riff come from my speakers, I'm gonna beat someone with a stick.

    I hope they release a final DVD or something ;_;

I couldn't listen to this anymore...
  13. This is never good for a band...major or indie. There's bound to be a few bangers on each release so I guess its not that bad...?? But for real though they need to take a breather but chances are they prob will use their same formula as many of their tracks.
  14. Pretty much alot of the bands I started off with when I first started getting into J-rock. Girugamesh was the first to go after GO or NOW. Nightmare just progressively gotten stale and boring over time. The gazettE whorred themselves off to Sony, killing any spark of REAL creativity they once had but there's always a few gems in their recent releases that I dig. Vidoll's earlier stuff was just grand...I got super nostalgic after listening to it a few months ago, last I checked from them? crap. Lynch was on this list but their last few singles have really been step ups and I'm looking forward to their new stuff more and more. SADIE has never been consistent since I started listening to them but when they do actually go hard...they go hard. The posts above mentioning alot of indies bands is the main reason why i stay away from them. They almost never (except for Mejibray) fail to disappoint after awhile.

Last time I checked Kaoru was on the left channel and Die is on the right...they must have made a mistake with that and I'm guessing that's the issue with the disks.

I'm gonna break this EP down as a whole... 12012 has shown great improvement since their self titled which was by far their crappiest release yet. A lot of the songs are a lot more grabbing and very enjoyable to listen to. With that said, I feel like they seriously needed to tone down with trying to be heavy on every single song. Also, they seemed pretty out there and no very well structured. 夢喰い was my favorite song on the EP but I feel like it was butchered kind of because of that same reason...and it was ridiculously short. What a tease. Long story short, 12012 sure did a pretty solid job with this release. Could have been better but hey they're trying. 3.5/5

Checked out a few songs... All I can say is what the hell. How do you go from a pretty skilled and talented guitarist to...this?! Haha, this is so sad its funny.

Sweet setlists but It feels empty without DIFFERENT SENSE. I really want to see that song performed when they come to the US. Man I love how dark the setlists have gotten as well. Damn...
  19. Visual Kei will never be the same with out -OZ-.

    1. SUBLIMINAL

      SUBLIMINAL

I'm pretty sure it will be.

  20. Cunning Killer was amazing. This is a sweet follow up. I never really listened to much of their earlier stuff but...if this is what they were holding back then holy crap >__>
  21. School needs to end. NOW.

Their music from what I've heard was Mediocre at best...can't really say I care too much. I also find it funny how much YOHIO is exposed compared to the band as a whole. Oh well. Wish them the best of luck.
  23. Wow... I'm actually stoked for this to drop! Track 4 sounds sick.

I'll start off my saying that The Unraveling is a scary(in a good way) trip down memory lane. A lot of the songs redone are songs that I haven't listened to in ages and for most part, I'm enjoying this EP alot. The Unraveling: I listened to the Radio rip multiple times once it came out and even before then the preview of the chorus that was leaked before it wasnt grabbing to me one bit. The full song fails to grab me as well. Normally the whole few listens then it'll grow on you thing would work...but nope! Seems like a track the band just did for shits and giggles so they can promote the EP without having to use one of the remakes. Verse is very boring...chorus is...I can't believe Im saying this...bland. The instrumentals and solo's are also on the meh side. i just couldn't get into it. This song is on par with Embryo and Yokan as well as a few other DIR songs that I wish never existed. KARMA: Now this is where it goes down. The intro to the first verse just gives off the false vibe that its probably not gonna be much of anything...THEN BAM. It just smacks you in the face like a pimp demanding his money. I love how compared to KIRU TO MAYU, the hints of the previous version is more evident, which made it even more enjoyable. This remake is my favorite out of the rest. KASUMI: I was surprised that they even did this one. If anything I prefer that they left it alone as is. The chugging in the first verse in this version compared to the power chords Kaoru played in the previous version, just threw things off for me. Screw it, the chugging Kaoru does throughout the song was just annoying. The acoustic part in the beginning was nice but unneccesary. Same with the solo. This remake completely got rid of the nice chill feeling it originally had. I'm pretty disappointed that they even touched this gem. Aie... KARASU: The original version of this song took me quite awhile to get into but when i did, I really digged it. Then it kinda just fell off as one of those rare tracks that you can enjoy once in awhile you know? This new redone version is just amazing and perfectly done. It really didn't stray too much from the original mood wise as well as the general sound of it, despite the fact that the guitar parts changed. I have nothing more to say. My hat goes off to this track. Bottom of The Death Valley: Pretty much the same as Karasu in terms of feel and sound. I never really liked this song to begin with but It also was well done. THE FINAL: I generally LOVE this remake. I love it because its nice to see that they didn't use their 7 strings for this one and went back to using C# (my personal favorite Guitar tuning), and how it too didn't stray away from the original. Also its nice to see that DIE added the extra solos that he's been doing live in this version. Hmm...overall it has that fresh feel to it that just makes you wanna go "ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I hated it I thought the solo was unneccessary...just took away a bit from the song even if it was brief. MACABRE: I'm not even gonna waste time reviewing this song...16 minutes of greatness. Thats it. Perfect. Damn. I left Unknown out because that song is chips. Overall (minus The unraveling and Unknown): 8.5/10 DIr en grey kicked ass yet again.

That's not Karasu. That's Calamity Moon by BatAAr. Lolol wow.
