Will listen to "absolutely mad". That's not exactly my mood right now, but it sounds like it would make an interesting playlist.
  2. Whoa, autotune overload. Not really my cup of coffee, I guess.
  3. Champ213

I guess D'erlanger, Der Zibet and Deshabillz would be obvious recommendations too. But they might be so obvious that you know them already... I think that Der Zibet is especially Buck-Tick'ish. Issay sounds a lot like Atsushi Sakurai too. n_FkB7almV4 QjtAeLA9-xo y__wQ8-R4cA

Getting "Really Hot People" status happens automatically after you reach 400 posts, assuming you have no warnings and are registered for more than 3 months. I think you may need to log-out and log-in again for it to take effect though.

Since fitear told me he would be free tonight after all.... anyone interested in holding the Guilty Pleasures night tonight? Or is it a bit short-noticed?

rice are good, but Raphael were a lot better, my favourite Jrock band of all time. However, I'm a bit sceptical about revivals, they're rarely as good as they were before. But I guess a few revival lives don't hurt anybody, and if there's a DVD for it I would buy it right away. A Best-of seems a bit pointless, it would probably just contain most of the stuff from "Fumetsuka" and "Singles". Some unreleased or even some re-recorded old stuff would really be the best I could hope for. If they record some new stuff but it ends up sounding like rice, they could just release it under rice anyway.

From what I can see it's not a 70s band, but a current band: http://rogue-official.jp/pc_top.html (Assuming the CD you ordered is the CD you linked)

We're not going to have a Ke$ha night, sorry. Seriously though, I'd come for a guilty pleasures night, but as I said, I'll be away from home for the next 5 days. So how about Saturday, March 3rd as a date? Who would be interested?
  9. Champ213

I'm not at home this weekend. Maybe the weekend after that?
  10. Champ213

Now, that sounds interesting. I hope it's better than Promise.

Use the method I mentioned above. It doesn't have eMail notifications, but it lets you find uploads by your favourite poster with one click. I did look around and couldn't find a mod that would add this particular feature, so I guess the workaround I described is the next best thing for now.
  12. Champ213

I can check if there is a pre-existing mod for this feature. However, in the meantime you could use specialized search strings for this: 1. Copy this into your browser: http://www.monochrome-heaven.com/search.php?terms=all&author=Champ213&sc=1&sf=firstpost&sr=topics&sk=t&sd=d&submit=Search&fid[]=13& 2. Replace the username by whatever user's uploads you want to follow and press enter. 3. Bookmark the page and check it often. Repeat with other username and bookmark it too, etc.

A bit too fast for my taste. Okay, the album will not come out until August, but it's still only 1.5 years after Holy Grail, which wasn't that amazing to begin with. Maybe they should take a bit more time to progress their sound. I still do like them, but I'm not sure if I can take more of the same-ish stuff....
  16. Champ213

Simple solution: don't share information with them that you don't want to be shared. It's the same hysteria with the new FB timeline. "OMG, FB knows everything about me!!1!" Well, good grief. Maybe that's because some people feel compelled to input every fricking detail of their life and daily routine into it? Seriously, whatever happened to personal responsibilty? Think about what you share. Don't be a stupid robot that just fills out every form and profile field that FB, Google etc. throw at you. As nekkichi said, log out of these services if you're not using them. You do not need a googlemail account to google, and you do not need a Youtube account to watch videos. All these sites only know as much about you as YOU allow them to know. Also, how any of this is connected to ACTA is quite beyond me. That's and entirely different story. People need to keep their eyes open, be critical and aware of what they do online, but not dive into crazy conspiracy theories and hysteria.

I learned what a sun bear is. I also learned that I can order Pizza online and pay it with Paypal if I have no cash at home.
  18. Champ213

    Some good news after all.
  19. Champ213

You're right. It's on my excel chart, but I must have overlooked it when making the post. Will add it in later.
  20. Champ213

It wasn't specifically directed at you. I'm just putting it out there that these results aren't a given. In a small poll like this, every vote is relevant and one vote can and does change results. And I can think of several people that could have influenced the results towards non-vk - but chose not to by abstaining. So there's really no reason to rename it to "vk awards". Non-vk bands do have a chance of winning some categories.
  21. Champ213

If you check the detailed results you'll notice that there were votes for non-visual bands, just not enough for one band to make it into the winners. However I did notice that many of those users that listen to non-vk around here didn't vote. So don't blame vk-fans because they were the ones that actually bothered to sit down and submit their votes. Mind you, the margins on some of these are pretty close. In a small-scale poll like this with a few dozen overall votes, each individual vote can make a lot of difference. Quite often 3 votes are enough to make it into the list. Sometimes 3 overall votes were enough for a first place. So, if 3 or 4 more of the non-vk fans would have voted, the list might look differently. So yeah, that's how it works with votings. If you don't even vote yourself, you really can't complain afterwards.
  22. And here are the winners! Only results with 3 or more votes were counted. Missing categories didn't receive enough votes for one item. Items in brackets are the winners of the last years. Votes will now be made visible in the Contest forum. ---- Best overall artist: 1. Dir en grey (2010: Versailles & D'espairsRay; 2009: The Gazette) 2. Versailles & A Best full album: 1. I would recommend to start with "With Oden on Our Side". Or "Twilight of the Thunder God". Their most recent album is good too, but maybe a bit more harder to get into, just like their older stuff before "With Oden on our Side". Ot Serdtsa k Nebu (От Сердца к Небу) probably. I'm surprised Arith hasn't popped in, she's she greatest Arkona fan around here.
