NUMBER GIRL was before my time, as I didn't quite get into J-indie until 2007. Even then, I only really gave NG a proper listen last year. I can imagine their disbandment sucking for those who were around, though. D'espairsRay is probably the one that hit closest to home on this list. Was really big on them for a bit, but kind of lost interest from MIRROR onwards. By the time they'd disbanded, my attention was well on other things, but I did try to check out whatever new things they'd release. school food punishment started off great, and even their singles after going major were good - altho the actual albums were mostly flops. In retrospect, I'm actually kind of glad they broke up since Hasuo's compositional talents were practically being stifled. la la larks is practically the same band anyways!

hmmmm, no idea if I'll be around this Sunday, but if so, I would be ok with a free-for-all, especially since I missed the last session.

These guys recently toured with Boris and THE NOVEMBERS and they sound pretty bad-ass! Also, NUITO are back together!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that this season has been really predictable so far. As enjoyable as it is to watch, sometimes I feel like i'm just watching them go through the motions with no real investment on my part. I'm not sure if it's because showrunners are trying to wrap things up or if we've just come to know the characters so well that their actions perfectly jive with our expectations. Probably both...Maybe it's because it seems near impossible to avoid fan theories these days! Also, It would blow my mind if Varys was somehow connected to the attack. I REALLY hope not, though - he really believes in Dany and Tyrion is his friend, right?? Either way, I don't think this will end well.... Honestly, that arc felt like such filler in the 5th season. I would not have missed it. I am guessing D&D seeded Dorne in the first ep for a reason, but...it's so unclear as to why atm. I agree that this arc had a ton of potential, but overall, I don't get the impression that Arya is all that better off than when she began. We only saw her do the face-swap thing once when assassinating Meryn Trant. They did not go into the mechanics of it, but is that something she'll be able to perform at will from now on??? And if she could, why didn't she use it to fool/escape the waif? Like, ok she can fight in the dark now...but other than, I don't sense much development in her skills nor her character. I agree about The Blackfish being an idiot. He was a good character, but...Why didn't he just go with Brienne? He COULD have went with Sansa, and say they actually take back winterfell, does he think Sansa would serve under the lannisters!?!? ofc not! He would have most certainly had a chance to retake Riverrun in the future if he'd been more patient. Also, and the video I linked below raised this point, but why did Edmure practically kill/trade in his uncle for a wife and kid that he could not have possibly known very well???? And some random musings: If the brotherhood are going north (and seeing how fast ppl have been getting around this season), would it be too farfetched to believe they could serve as reinforcements in the battle of the bastards? Or will Baelish arrive and save the day? And if Baelish does arrive with the knights of the veil, will he simply serve Sansa/Jon or try to take control of the chaos for himself? Also, @beni and I like to watch the episode reactions @ GameSpot on YT after each ep. These guys raise some interesting points sometimes! also LMAOOOOO @ this comment: "Arya is DEAD!!! The Waif killed Arya and cut her OWN FACE off and stole Arya's face and identity! She's is now NO ONE (just like Jaqen confirmed and then smirked when she said that she was Arya Stark). Mind blown! She will pretend to be Arya of House Stark to carry out a mission. THEY KILLED ARYA and NO ONE..... NO ONE knows it! lol. D&D trolling hard." That would be INSANE if that actually happened - since we didn't actually witness the fight, but Arya is too much of a favorite to get that kind of a harsh treatment IMO.

This has actually been my least favorite episode of the season so far. There were a few interesting tidbits, but overall I was mostly left feeling underwhelmed. Really hype for the next Ep. Looks like the entirety will revolve around the upcoming battle, and it looks set to be epic!

I'm UNBELIEVABLY excited to see that this is actually happening, but I'm also extremely disappointed that the animation is literally a CG nightmare. I doubt that the manga could ever be done proper justice, but I am really interested in seeing how they've adapted the story beyond the Golden Age arc!

^ Psysalia Psysalis Psyche is/was great! I thought they were really heading somewhere special, especially with "Matin Brun" and the subsequent singles. The final album seemed a bit rushed in comparison. Not especially familiar with the other music listed. (Also, @plastic_rainbow - I will get back to you on your mix. (a new type) (remix by buffalo daughter) gahhhhh, this is easily one of my favorite tracks of 2015, and in recent years! I love everything about it!

Love this movie! The tone and general aesthetic of the film really captures me, but it's not one that I can watch too often. And I agree about the soundtrack being amazing - for me it's one of the best things Salyu has ever done outside of her collaboration with Cornelius. I haven't seen a ton of Japanese movies, but I also really enjoyed Shiki-Jitsu. I think the tone of it is similar to that of lily chou-chou, as it has a really artsy "indie" vibe if you will. Others I've enjoyed are Memories of Matsuko, which is a tragic comedy, and features cameos from several Jpop stars. The cinematography is also really colorful and vibrant. The One Million Yen Girl was pretty pleasant to watch, although the plot isn't the most enthralling, it did kind of have an open-ended feeling to it that I enjoyed. Plus Aoi Yu is pretty great - she had a role in lily chou-chou when she was much younger btw.

Really enjoying this season! "the door" fucked me up, as when the episode ended, I was just kind of frozen in place trying to process everything that happened. Glad to see Dany and Arya's plots getting a bit of traction, as the former was becoming especially irritating. I'm also rooting for Yara (her character/actor has been surprisingly compelling!) and I never thought I'd feel bad for Theon, but that's just another testament to the show's good writing! .

Fantastic job on this @beni and @Original Saku! It's always cool to check stuff like this out, as some of my favorite Japanese songs are for anime. I'd seen that Megumi Hayashibara song reviewed elsewhere, but this is my first timing hearing it. I can definitely here the ringo! Also glad to see that hitorie song, as it was one of my favorites from the new album. I always thought they'd make great music for anime, so hopefully they do more.

@@emmny - Man, I love everything about that munimuni track, except for the vocals! I had to smirk to myself when you mentioned Plastic Tree's Ryutaro, because that is one vocalist that I simply cannot stand. XD Does he usually sound like this? @@tetsu_sama69 - I enjoyed the DIV mini as a whole, but you chose my favorite track! @@beni - very nice discovery with Zekkei Kujira, they're pretty cute. Shinamayu is also pretty interesting considering the different tracks they had on their mini. @@fitear1590 - Really glad to see you wrote about Often Mofun. I REALLY enjoyed the first half of their EP. Shiina Ringo did not come to my mind, but that's an interesting comparison. Also, mona records is great! @@saishuu - our tastes can be REALLY similar sometimes! I absolutely love that Ame no parade song. I enjoyed the album too, even though it's kind of just good background music. I'm also surprised that Heavenstamp never really caught fire - glad they're still at it, though. Kamisai sounds like they have a lot of potential - I especially appreciate the vocalist. That Daichi track is really good. Surprisingly good actually. I never really paid attention to him, but I know @beni likes him too. @@yakihiko - sorry! I fixed that error. Also I like when DADAROMA stick to their rock/metal, emotional side.
