    Ok so can someone tell me what people mean by shoegaze? Because from what I've gathered it's not even a musical genre and has no defining characteristics. But yet I've literally seen people argue as to weather or not a band is shoegaze and discuss it as though it's a genre. Could someone help me out?

      @BearDid use google and from everything I've read t it's not a genre yet people still seem to claim that some how it is.

      @YuyoDrift No I've never heard of dream pop or your description of shoegaze but what you've said is helpful although considering some of the bands that I've seen people classify as shoegaze, I'm not sure if a lot of people share your opinion although I could be wrong because I haven't been able to find any source that agree on ways to distinguish shoegaze. With that said where did you get your description of shoegaze? I'm not trying to knock anyone's opinions I'm just trying to  get a clear definition of shoegaze.
